This will be an interesting study in the power of commercial interests.

A long ban is appropriate but there would be money lost if he's not on the field.

Feck, fell asleep for a while and missed the games, why am I not surprised by this? I guess this means Liverpool keep the disgusting rat in the Premier League.

It would have been interesting had Chiellini managed to catch him with that elbow.

Yeah but it seems as if Suarez has mental issues, if true he needs time away from the game.
I agree, he definitely has a screw loose. I already said that with my post first in this thread. Still doesn't mean he should be given a by-ball.

I also think Liverpool fans are being extremely optimistic if they think there won't be ANY repercussions towards their ambitions next season because of this. Some of them probably think it would never happen but is it really too much to imagine the owners at Liverpool saying, "You know what, this guy's mental and we don't need this horrible image."? Certainly their ambition from last season of being everyone's 'second team' is firmly out the window should they defend him yet again.

This is why I don't want this lunatic anywhere near Madrid. We've got our hands full keeping Pepe in check already.
Be my guest Barca, he's all yours, we'll make do with Benz and hopefully Aguero.

I believe 100% that people's thirst for punishment and revenge is worse than what Suárez has done on the pitch. Outrageous and indefensible action from Suárez, but I do not see the necessity for all these huge insults and demands for an incredibly long ban. Let us find the correct balance, please.
Really? He has bitten someone THREE TIMES now, being racially insulted another, why ever would a human being beleive he should be seriously punished for having a long history of verbally and physically assulting others with very little if any aggravation from the victims part? The man is vermin and should severely reprimanded for his actions. I wonder if your family member was racially abused or bitten by someone, would you say yeah he shouldn't do it but quit complaining.

You have to say fair play to Chiellini. Someone just fecking bit him, so he goes to elbow the cnut. But then he has stopped biting him, so he manages to stop elbowing him.

Should probably be knighted.
I think he was just trying to shake Suarez off. At first I thought it was an elbow too.

The worst aspect for me is those corrupt Mexican officials did nothing about it. This world cup has been good but that was garbage.

He's a nutcase and needs help. It's a shame really, fantastic player, one of the most exciting to watch at the moment. But it's a horrible thing to do he must have a heavy ban from FIFA for this.

Liverpool are in a tricky situation now, will be almost impossible to stand by him this time. His price has probably dropped a fair bit as well.

Slow-mo's going around now, one just on rte (irish tv) and one particular angle does look like he opened his gob and dug in. What an idiot to do it again, mental.

Seriously? How many times does he need to bite someone before you think a severe punishment is justified? It's possible to have a degree of sympathy for someone who does something once and it's out of character, but someone who does the same thing over and over??

How is that I would settle for a broken leg than a bite unless you have a dossier of Suarezs sexual history or any other underlying health problems.
The rabies rumours are unfounded.

The Suarez family is well-respected. The line was founded by his great-grandfather who flew from Transilvania to Uruguay in 1852.

Why is biting so terrible? Roy Keane deliberately breaking another player's leg is far worse.
Is this a wind-up or a genuine comment? Why is biting so bad? I mean seriously what the feck? It's a horrible thing to do.

And who's leg did Keane break? The fact that Keane was a lunatic doesn't really detract from what Suarez did, does it?

The fact he continues to do things like this despite being punished should indicate there is something wrong and the punishment is not working. We need to help him, because he is an exceptional player, and the world of football benefits with players as talented as he is.

I am not defending him, it was a preposterous and despicable act, just stating that calling for huge punishment does not help anyone and also robs world football from an exquisite talent.

I think this may end the prospect of the 70 or 80 million Liverpool were about to pocket this summer. Surely after a third offence he has to be kicked out of football until he undergoes psychological treatment.
Even worse. Mike Tyson has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit over 100 million dollars plus a 12 round fight.

Robbie Savage: "The worst thing is playing the victim afterwards" No, I'm pretty sure the worst thing is Suarez actually bit another player on the pitch.

Maybe the Uruguayan coach should have waited until after the match before telling Suarez the team would be going for an Italian as their celebratory meal for qualifying!

Seriously??? If Pepe can change his attitude then so can Suarez in Madrid
This is a blessing in disguise for Madrid as Suarez's price will no doubt drop dramatically
