Suarez bites | "sorry for falling into him and biting him and that"

Its just too bizarre. His world cup 2014 has to be over. The only question surely is how long his ban from international football will be.

On many levels, especially as a Manchester United fan, its hilarious, but ultimately, its abit disturbing and frankly very sad. It must be some sort of deep mental disorder, via faulty DNA or some traumatic childhood experiences.

Suarez's talent is undisputed. One can only hope that serious medical psychology counselling can help him to eradicate this abnormal behaviour as the game of football will sadly lose a huge talent.

If banning him isn't working it makes no sense to hit him with another ban. He's been made an example of multiple times.
So by that logic if a guy commits a crime over and over again, they should just stop punishing him as it doesn't work? Surely the logical thing to do is give him a huge punishment and force him into some sort of mental help?

Then he can have his redemption again, yippy!

I'd say a year out of football, with the suspened lifetime ban if he repeated it again would hit home, Barney. If you don't think a ban, what else?

Not trying to brush it off - but it is worth pointing out that there are worse things when people get all "ermahgawd, worst thing eva."

There is very rarely an incident where something isn't worse. Doesn't make it justifiable. And you ARE trying to brush it off. Because you're not just saying how terrible it is, but trying to deflect attention to all the worse things there are - and in doing so, indirectly, defending Suarez. Typical.

As I said, there is always something worse. A serial killer has nothing on Hitler, but doesn't mean when we think about what he's done we say "oh but, it's bad but, Hitler was worse" do we?

And frankly you and I have different views on what is worse. For example lets compare the 2 worst incidents (probably) in the WC so far - Song and Suarez. Both were disgusting acts and should both receive bans. But it's hard to explain; with Song, what he has done is a common physical reaction that occurs in humans. When someone has pissed someone off, they usually get physical with them and hit them. It on the other hand is not normal to bite someone.

We make these judgements all the time; some acts are always seen as worse than others despite them causing less pain, or despite the intent to cause harm being present in both cases. But there is just something about certain things, such as biting, spitting, pissing on etc, which are seen on another level to normal physical lashes. That's just my opinion, you're free to disagree (and I know you will).

I do agree that people saying this is the worst thing ever are OTT, but in context, he has done this 3 times which is why people are much more outraged and shocked than normal. You have to factor the multiple offender in when people make a judgement about it happening. I also think lifetime ban is OTT, but something serious has to be done here to set an example.

But with Liverpool and Uruguayan fans all jumping to defend Suarez, there lies the issue with football. Which is why it has fallen behind so many other sports in terms of sportsmanship. Certain things should be stamped out altogether no matter who you support or where you're from.

 bit extreme, but that's how irritated I am by you Liverpool fans who will defend him to the death. You're not the worst bunch of humans, but you do all need to take a seriously long look at yourselves.

Nyum, nyum, nyum

"These are things that happen on the pitch, we were both in the area, he thrust his shoulder into me"

"These things happen on the pitch, and we don't have to give them so much"

So Chiellini deliberately put his shoulder in the proximity of Suarez's teeth which gave Suarez the license to bite Chiellini. Seems legit.

He definitely knows it's wrong to bite though.

Still, the united front of 'man the feck up' from Uruguay makes me laugh. What can you say to arguments like Chiellini is a snitch and crybaby?

There was a pic on this forum yesterday of Suarez and the words were something like "He looked like a sausage, tasted like a sausage but wasn't a sausage". Thought it was brilliant but now can't find it! Anyone able to post a link?

He's a bad apple isn't he? I am still hoping we see him in a Liverpool kit next season though because he's a bloody brilliant footballer.

You'll say that now just to back up your argument. What you'd actually do in our situation is likely something very similar however.

Amd the handshake stuff.

To be honest with you mate I was enjoying some of your wumming yesterday, I know it's like shooting fish is a barrel sometimes, but you had a few going.

Bringing up the racist stuff with Evra is probably pushing it too far today though, you need to wind it down.

FIFA are probably going to make a decision today seeing as Uruguay are due to play Colombia in 3 days and would probably like to know if they are going to be able to use their best player.

Why assume there's some deep mental issues and he isn't just a massive wanker who lashes out when he can't get his own way?

Give someone a sporting skill and £90,000 a week and biting someone changes from 'mindess thug, throw away the key' to 'aww bless, he must have issues'

It was a bite. A lifetime ban should be handed out for something like racism, not for biting someone.

Oh right, always the victim. "Made an example of" which implies he didn't deserve what he got.

Shame on you, honestly. One day when you hit puberty you might realize how much of a cock you are.

I thought that he was supposed to be receiving counselling since he attacked Ivanovic? maybe it came to a halt once he start putting on the 'changed man' persona.

Wow, can't believe how he thrust his shoulder into Suarez's open mouth. How dare he.
There is absolutely no way they will be able to argue that it was in the midst of a battle for ground/ball etc. He just randomly bit another player.

Incredible, isn't it? He has killed someone but since he would probably do it if given the chance because he doesn't fear jail let's not put him in jail.

Maybe this is how Tabarez gets his players hungry for the match, by depriving them of sustenance. Gotta eat

BTW, Tabarez has got to be a chainsmoking stiff looking like 87 instead of 67

It is a bite that has been repeated 3 times, Barney. 3 times! He just can't go around acting like a troublesome child in a school playground just because he isn't having things his own way. Thing is, he knows he can't and shouldn't bite someone, so hit the fecker with a lengthy ban I say.

What about history of racist abuse and 3 incidents of biting?

Oh but he plays for Liverpool so of course he's just silly or Cantona was worse or poor Luis will have to explain this one day to his son or some other attempt to defend him right?

He should be on the receiving end of a significant penalty to hopefully dissuade him from losing his shit the next time but I don't subscribe to this lifetime ban silliness even if I find his behaviour repugnant. For me, there are far more dangerous players allowed to roam the pitches across the globe

It's frankly incredible that he has done it. What sort of purpose did it serve? He gained absolutely no advantage whatsoever by biting him. Why?

Either a weird fetish, or he needs some sort of medical help.

A suspended lifetime ban would let him play and put his career in his own hands. Do you think he'll bite someone again with that looming over his head?

Anyway, I think the main lesson Luis needs to learn is how to use his elbows instead of his teeth. Stevie, afroman and the rest never get punished for them.

...

But if, as you claim, he knows biting someone is wrong but he continues to do it regardless of the punishment he receives and in spite of any psychiatric help he's already received what alternative is there other than to remove him from the game for the protection of fellow professionals?

I just don't think you get the same satisfaction from an elbow that you do from a nibble.
