You guys are falling for this again.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Barcelona and Real Madrid do not do business with Man United.

You can forget about signing any of their players. Besides, Alexis wants to go to Arsenal if he can't stay at Barcelona.

Is this something you have assumed? It's a very sweeping statement.

If Kroos isn't in LVGs plans then Real signing him is good for us, less likely to cause us a problem with Vidal

Khedira is better than Carvahlo.
Maybe he is. I haven't seen enough of Carvahlo to know how good he could be though, so if we sign him I can be at least somewhat optimistic.

I have seen enough of Khedira to know he's overrated though and not a midfielder I want.

Us not buying players from those two clubs is because we can't lure away the players that are valued by those clubs and we seemed to have a policy of not going after their rejects under SAF. It was not because these clubs didn't want to do business with us. Let's see if that policy has changed now that Sir Alex has retired.

Maybe I'm easily pleased but I don't care all that much on who else we get - any more signings feels like a bonus.

Not entirely convinced by him to be honest.
me neither. At least he is 21. Khedira is 27 and when his legs start to go, he would lose a major part of his game. Now that Real want Kroos, we should really be focussing on Vidal, even though he would cost a lot more than Khedira. He is still young Khedira, but i just think he doesnt stand out with his all round game

We were pretty heavily linked with Gustavo last summer weren't we? Would be a good signing for us if we pull out of the Carvalho deal or Strootman isn't a target anymore.

I hope club don't share the same same mindset. At least two more signings are imperative.

We can't rely solely on a new manager, teenage left back and one midfielder to drastically improve our fortunes next seasons.

Agree. Our focus should be on Vidal and with Madrid chasing Kroos should hopefully see them not go for Vidal.

Yeah, I'm expecting more signings but I feel people are anticipating a really big name or two - I don't mind all that much and will be happy no matter who we bring in.

I should really have said that the names being spoken of would be a bonus(Vidal and the like).

Although this Twitter account doesn't seem to post it's own opinions, does anybody know whether the tweets they make match up to actual stories from said papers?
They only quote newspaper stories. They dont have stories of their own. Some newspapers are subscription only, so easier to get stories this way.

Ig this is true then Madrid won't be after Vidal and neither will Barca with Rakitic signed, Suarez on the way and CB and possibly RB needing new signings.

That would leave Bayern our main competitors if they are interested( Bild say they are, aswell as City.)I don't think we could get him over Bayern but if he does go there, surely they'll be shipping out Schweinsteiger or less likely Martinez who we can grab up.

I still think we are a bigger attraction than any club besides those 3 if we put the money on the table.

a 4-3-3 with Kroos and Mordic as CM, Gustavo behind them as DM. Illarra and Alonso on the bench. Di Maria back on the flanks.
Rumours Illaramendi is being loaned. Alonso probably in his last season. Ancelotti is building for future.

I agree with that and I don't think the reputation and quality of a player is of the utmost importance to van Gaal unless they meet his specific requirements in midfield. Even Herrera isn't a star signing and not in the same bracket as Vidal, Fabregas and Kroos who all have been touted for moves here at some time, but if he is a more suitable signing for our midfield than those three so be it.

We do need a centre back and another central midfielder and they are critical areas to address. I'm not expecting a Hummels or Vidal, but if say Vermaelen or de Jong proved a good fit for the team in LVG's eyes I would trust his judgement - even though I don't like Vermaelen. Ideally we will sign the best players possibly obtainable, but we've seen with his Holland side how they are more than the sum of its part and he extracts the best from the team despite it's limitations.

Don't think Di Maria would like being second fiddle to Bale.

The LvG revolution will attract many players. Especially hard arse midfielders. Forget about Bayern, we are Man United and apparently our new manager is bursting with pride to be appointed so. Keep the faith.

And we pay well. ;)

Real dont really think like that. They buy and then they see how it goes. At the moment, rumours everywhere. United, Chelsea and Arsenal apparently want Khedira? Can't believe it. Logically it would make sense, but still.

Would be a very stupid move considering how incredible Di Maria has been in midfield.

The Twitter thread is no place for such level headed, sensible opinions! Vidal or nothing!

But seriously, yeah I agree. Not mad on Vermaelen but if LVG feels he's the perfect fit then so be it. I would only imagine he feels he can get more out of Jones, Smalling and Evans though as Vermalen will most likely get injured!

in terms of what he has done with the Dutch team i reckon thats a case of needs must with the players available to him. Hopefully he is not under too much restriction with who he brings to United.
