Only played 30 mins since the patch, so not sure. I think you need to defeat a lesser rift guardian to get a keystone of trial and if you do well in the waves there, you get a freater rift key.Haven't found the big rifts. I'm only getting the minor rifts I think. Is there an unlock process to get the greater rifts?
You have to kill rift's guardian ( of the small rift ) and there's a chance he'll drop a greater rift keystone. Then you enter some kind of 'arena' where you'll have to fight waves of mobs on time ( a bit like cursed shrines/chests ) and every wave is stronger. Depending on when your time runs out, you receive a keystone with a certain number that represents difficulty of a rift you'll enter.Haven't found the big rifts. Is it just PC? I'm on PS4 but I would be all over that if it is ps4.Season 1 launches tomorrow. Anyone starting a new character?
Yup, looks so. Seasons, Ladders and Greater rifts are only for PC. No clue if and when they will be available for consoles. Is it just PC? I'm on PS4 but I would be all over that if it is ps4.
It used to be like that before too I think. Playing Barb was not easy especially in Torment. The build is not exciting and when playing Public, the DH and even the Wizard is much more powerful!Demon Hunters are OP and Wizard, Barb and Monk are too weak.
I think Barb was too strong when Diablo 3 came out. With later patches and then RoS they got weaker compared to other classes. It used to be like that before too I think. I'll start on a Demon Hunter when season begins tomorrow
They'll never ever be, we can only 'thank' them that they're not trying to balance the game around PVP ( which is dead ). Would've been even bigger mess.Demon Hunters seem to be really OP on PC at the moment.
There are 8 Demon Hunters who completed a Greater Rift solo on Trier/Level 40. No other class managed to get higher than 37 which wouldn't even put the best of them in the Top 70 of the Demon Hunters.
I think 2.1 is a great patch but the classes are still not balanced right.
Demon Hunters are OP and Wizard, Barb and Monk are too weak.
No, it's simple to get into really. My mate had never played one, played couch co-op and he's addicted.Never played Diablo or any RPG. Would it be tough to get in to?
Of course they never will. Diablo 2 was patched for over 10 years and it was never completely even between the classes but I think the difference between DH and for example Monk is too big ATM.They'll never ever be, we can only 'thank' them that they're not trying to balance the game around PVP ( which is dead ). Nah, as a monk player myself I know that DHs are currently overpowered so you are right, same thing happened to them pre-patch and pre-ROS. Them and wizards are/were over the top compared to the rest.Of course they never will. Diablo 2 was patched for over 10 years and it was never completely even between the classes but I think the difference between DH and for example Monk is too big ATM.
But maybe that only seems that way as I think Greater rifts kind of favour DHs because they are mobile, have long range attacks and high DPS.
Cheers! Will buy it at Sainsburys this evening! No, it's simple to get into really. My mate had never played one, played couch co-op and he's addicted.
Loosely follows the RPG trinity and I'm mean loosely. It's more of a chaotic nuke-a-thon. The Crusader, Monk and Barbarian do damage in melee and the other three Demon Hunter Witch Doctor Enchantress do long range DPS. Crusader set up is weapon plus shield can take lots of damage and deal good damage. Barb is basically all attack. Monk is attack/support type char.Just curious, I've never played Diablo - does the coop follow an RPG trinity system, i.e. tank, healer and dps roles? Or is it just a chaotic nuke-a-thon from all players?
Far less than DoTA. My brother pulled me in that and within 5 minutes, there were messages that I was a noob, and then wham. Dead every other minute. Gave up after a couple of attempts. That was a damn hard game to get into imo.Never played Diablo or any RPG. Would it be tough to get in to?
Random drops I think, cant remember what it's called now either. How do you craft stuff? It says I need I need 3 things and I've 2 of them, the one I don't have the symbol is a container with some purple stuff inside, I don't have a clue what it is or how to get it.
You have to salvage it from blue/yellow/legendary items. ( you do it at your blacksmith )How do you craft stuff? It says I need I need 3 things and I've 2 of them, the one I don't have the symbol is a container with some purple stuff inside, I don't have a clue what it is or how to get it.
We need to figure out who's on what systems and what classes people are.Just finished act 5, I'm currently level 59. I've tried the adventure mode and rifts and it's a load of fun, really can't wait to hit level 70 now and start farming those legendary loots!
We should get a level 70 group going at some point, 4 player adventure mode is probably loads of fun.
I am about half way through act 5 and level 62, ramped up difficulty again to mayhem and it's become quite challenging for the first timeJust finished act 5, I'm currently level 59. Classes aren't really that important. You can easily play with 4 chars of the same class in one game.We need to figure out who's on what systems and what classes people are.

You might have to start a new game to drop the difficulty further?I can't beat the last boss on act 5. I was playing on torment 1 I think, he destroyed me. I have dropped to expert and still no joy
But for some reason I can no longer select normal or hard difficulty setting?
On level 70 and this is rather annoying
I've only just gotten to level 70. To be honest I've not really been laying attention to stats at all. If I see a weapon or piece or armour with green arrows I generally equip them. You might have to start a new game to drop the difficulty further?
Mathael is hard to kill but he attacks with patterns which you'll have to try to avoid.
You should watch out for a few things:
- Try to get out of the way when he charges you or casts that wind that whirls around him (or whatever it is). It's very hard to avoid charges and basically impossible for a melee class but at least try to get away from that wind he casts.
- When he casts the skulls that rotate towards the centre of the circle get to the outside fast so you can walk between them. Those hit really hard if you're trapped in the centre.
- When he summons minions try to get away from Mathael and kill them first.
- When he teleports to the center and casts those fireballs in the second phase of the fight get behind him immediately because there the attack (that red fan thingy that starts in front of him and then rotates from there to his sides) can't hit you.
- Try to move a lot in the fight to avoid getting trapped by his clouds. I think it is a bit easier to avoid them if you move around the edge of the circle.
