Kohler and Vierchowod is an excellent partnership, as complementary as a CB pairing could ever get. Neither had any real weakness, but their less good sides is where the other excels as one of the best ever.

I didn't predict any of those picks. Not one.
Surely you predicted Romario since I was never going to go for him?

I'm surprised you think you can get away with Rodriguez at left back yet again. It's ridiculous really.

I didn't predict the four picks after the first one I made.

Meh, it was the best situation we could have gone for and I don't think it's a huge issue, given the rest of the team. Sammer was a blow. But yeah, not sure your teams that defensively sound itself so I'd spare the critique :annoyed:

Rodriguez is a starter for a semi-finalist? Wtf
Though Alaba is probably would be starting too, didn't expect left backs to be the most successful youngsters in the draft

And finally the man who actually played that formation in your midfield)

Glad for my boys though.

Nah, Viva picked Zanetti as a left back. FML, I was pretty confident you were all happy with your RBs :annoyed:

I thought that this should've been like that but then I don't know why Zanetti.

Nah it has nothing to do with knowing better, it's just a question of ideas and opinions. I think Breitner-Seedorf offer Keane a bit more freedom in choosing the time to push forward. If he doesn't, he'll have someone who will do it instead of him and you can definitely trust him to do the defensive role, and if he does pushes forward you'll have either of Breitner/Seedorf who both have tremendous defensive abilities and awareness to cover for him. imo you can't ask for more balance in your midfield, doesn't lake work rate, creativity is fine with the added part from two of Enzo/Savicevic/Rummenigge, defensive awareness is top notch. The complete package.
Maybe if I qualify to the finals I'll change Seedorf and Keane and bring on a more defensive midfielder, maybe go for Sammer or Davids or someone in that defensive calibre, but that will be just a tactical change, I think my current midfield is as balanced as it comes.
Worst case scenario, I end up against a team like anto which has a classic #10 like Baggio there. Well, its definitely not the best thing for my team but I'm sure Keane had his fair share of games where SAF instructed him to be a little more defensive minded and keep a guy out of the game, Keane could definitely do that. It might not take his best qualities into the entire match but it does the business.. It's pretty much like we talked about Scirea as the CB, if he has the right attributes for being a top notch defender, he'll be a top notch defender even if you limit his attacking.
I think you are going for too much physicality. With Seedorf and Breitner there, a better choice (imo) would have been Cerezo/Alonso/Deschamps kind of player. Alonso may not be a vote winner as Keane, but in that role flanked by Seedorf & Breitner, his creativity and passing would have been much more valuable than Keane's box-to-box...and he is a specialist DM too. A diamond with any of those 3 at base would be far more effective than Keane imo.

Somewhat surprised at some of the upgrades. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the matches.

Well predict is the wrong word, I never actually sat down and tried to guess the picks. I thought you would have gotten Roberto Carlos though. I think he fits your team really well and I didn't ever think you would have gone for Zanetti at left back.

Zanetti at left back, when Cabrini, Carlos, Lizarazu, Evra, Briegel, Cole were all available is a really strange choice. Whatever type of leftback you want, there was a better option available.

Exactly :annoyed:

The only solid rationale would be screwing me and I don't think it ever crossed his mind. Zanetti was the only player available who allowed me to retain the ability to switch formations seamlessly (Zanetti to midfield instead of Hierro, basically). Amoros is probably more apppropriate for what I want him to do as RB, but losing that is an arse, and Zanetti is proven with Team Anto :(

Who else? It was either him or Carlos, but wanted defensive awareness too so went with my beloved Pupi. Don't see anything wrong with him as my LB
Balu already answered for me. He isn't a liability but you could've have literally any type of a natural LB, and you chose RB that could do a job. Your choice though. He isn't going to be a liability, just that, I think, there were better choices available.

Sorry Pupi, no amount of planning is spacker-proof :(

MJJ/Theon: Rodríguez - Cafú
TRV: Sergi - Sagnol
VIVA: Alaba - Reuter

RBs: GERETS KALTZ ZANETTI
LBs: ROBERTO CARLOS JUNIOR CABRINI BRIEGEL LIZARAZU COLE EVRA
BOTH: AMOROS BOSSIS ZAMBROTTA

You were only ever going to go in cuckoo-land :annoyed:

No biggie though. The way the draw turned out I'm better off with Amoros anyway, scan voting aside.

Zanetti can play LB, obviously. He can play as a left winger for that matter - but it very clearly isn't his best position. So, I don't get that one from Viva - especially when he says it was between him and Carlos. There were better alternatives out there than Carlos too for my money, but the latter is more a matter of taste, I s'pose.

Also very surprised that Theon/MJJ decided to stick with Rodriguez. Surely means they're opting for a back tree w/ wingbacks for the semi - if not it's positively reckless, I'd say. But even so, very surprised they didn't get a bigger name in for the LB/LWB position.
