Cannot wait for this! No excuses today. We've had a full week's rest while they've been shite in the CL. We should be pressing the feck out of them and have a good right go!

They are convinced on Sunday Supplement that Glazer's plan is to invest in the team & make us the best club in the world. Then they plan it to sell for 3 Billion.

Strong rumours that Wilson will get the nod. Could be the right choice as he seems to get us up the pitch on the counter attack better than most players in our team. LvG probably wants Rooney a bit deeper to add some more bite to the midfield as well in what will be a tasty affair.

    de Gea
    Valencia Evans Rojo Young
    Carrick
    Fellaini Herrera
    Rooney
    van Persie Wilson
    --
Lindegaard; Jones, McNair; Fletcher, Januzaj, Mata; Falcao

Might see Rafael involved on the bench over McNair, or possibly Blackett.

LvG tends to not rush players back, so the likes of Rafael and Jones, who would usually be straight back in, probably won't be despite being better in their positions than Valencia and Evans.

If Wilson does start. Then it's perfect chance for him to make a name for himself.

But would drop Mata for Herrera.

Papers say their was big fight between Lovren & Slippy G. in the dressing room after the loss against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

That's right - if Mata does not play behind the two strikers then he is not that effective & if Rooney plays as the CM then we do not use him fully. Herrera should start in place of Mata.

I'm all for giving youth a chance but feck me, starting Wilson over a possibly fit Falcao!? Wilson hasn't impressed me yet when he's been given his chances. I think some of you have discounted Falcao already, he's barely played for us yet. Such an incredible goal scorer.

I think the reason behind this would be his speed for counters as Falcao is still not sprinting 100% yet. Remember we don't have Di Maria's pace for this game? Let's just hope Wilson passes the ball & does not act selfish if he gets the chance :nervous:

I'll be annoyed if mata and Wilson start today and for crying out loud NO 3 at the back.

    Rooney for mata

    Falcao for Wilson

    Diamond formation

Would also like to see Herrera start.

I don't agree that we need pace for this game. We're supposed to control the game, not counter-attack it. Pace is good if you have something else to complement it. Besides, how often do we see goals scored or created purely out of pace these days? One-on-ones with the keeper are really rare. I rather have Falcao or Mata starting over Wilson.

How many chances he got? Not so many.

I actually don't mind the team that is being reported. Obviously Rafael/Shaw/Smalling would be nice inclusions but I'm confident. They are not on our level at the moment, they are atrocious. We've got this. Comfortably.

Yeah I think he's had a few chances, it's up to him to grab them. He started quite recently didn't he? This is not the game to start Wilson over a world class striker, he'll get his chances.

Well that's out of our hands, maybe Falcao is still not 100%. I am sure he would come from the bench to play his part. Manager makes the call, so let's not worry about it & support our team, shall we? :D

They are having a discussion on Sunday Supplement about diving & shirt-pulling. One of the guys on it wants a 10 game retrospective game for diving

I think the reason Mata plays is because he's left footed and would feature on the left of the diamond. Not sure I agree with it though.

Wilson ahead of Falcao is interesting.

    Falcao isn't fully fit.

Nobody is discounting him. In the next few weeks, I expect him to start with the amount of games and I can't wait.

Minus our defence brain farting vs Leicester, I thought Falcao linked up well with Rooney and RVP, when he started. So if he was fully fit, I would have started him.

My confidence in getting a result completely depends on our formation. Please no 3-5-2 :(

    The End?
Yes, with Falcao coming in with 30 minutes to go. I'd be happy with that. Time for the lad Wilson to show his boots.
I'm all for giving youth a go, and even I watch the odd youth game here and there. Wilson is great at that level, but he is clearly not good enough to start today. He has done nothing to warrant a start over the likes of Mata.

I'm a bit more apprehensive about Wilson starting, this occasion might be a bit too much for him at the moment. It'll be only his 3rd start in the senior team, right? I suppose we dont have much choice, we do lack pace in attack without Di Maria

    Mata as CM?

    Not likely.
    Probably

    --------RVP------------Wilson----------

I really hope herrera hasn't been relegated to a "impact sub" kind of player that only starts the odd game here and there.

When di maria went off he was a presence on the pitch, controlled the midfield.

Hope to see Falcao given the go ahead to start this match with Rooney and RVP.
Its time,he s had 4 or 5 weeks of training now and sub appearances,he wont get match fitness unless he plays.
He is a big game player and starting together with Rooney and RVP today will be perfect.

Normally I would agree, but he didn't look very convincing against So'ton.
