Coutinho is very inconsistent. He'll show up for some games and put in a fantastic performance then go missing in others or try too hard to play the perfect final pass. I think with Lallana it's a fitness issue. I seem to remember him only lasting 60 minutes more often than not with Southampton last season, so Rodgers has been using him here and there as opposed to every game.

That being said, I am hoping for both to start tomorrow. At least one of them should have started in midweek.
Lallana was the most subbed player in PL last season, Looks like he is the type of player who can not finish 90 minutes in a game. Also, their are reports that he has has been playing with a fractured rib.

Please have Wilson start this game with Rooney and RVP. I really hope we smash them, we haven't done that in a while
I don't mind Wilson starting if he does well, but I want Falcao to score in this game to calm the feck down in Caf

I'm not too bothered about their attack as I'm sure they will have more than their hands full with ours, which will ease off their ability to attack our third.
I am bothered about their diving though. They always start to dive in the 2nd half when things are not going their way. Especially Rahim Sterling. I know Ashley Young gets a lot of stick for a dive or two in the past, but he is nowhere close to Sterling in terms of diving.

Some self-proclaimed ITK on twitter says dippers are going to play a back 5 & will try to hit us on the counter

Hoping for Wazza & RVP to bring their class - A shooting boots with them :D
I really hope mata plays. I think he is an even bigger threat against that back 4/5. Can shoot from outside the box on a dime and is sneaky enough to get in the box unmanned. Especially if liverpool piss themselves trying to stop rooney and RVP, mata could have an absolute field day.

I just worry that a coutino, lallana, sterling front 3 might be a hassle for our lackluster back 3/4. If they can sustain pressure, at least sterling out of those 3, has the ability to exploit our defence.

Went 3-0 to us for a prediction but I forgot that Gerrard will no doubt score a penalty and kiss the camera. So 3-1 probably. RvP with 2.

I wonder if the players are up for it as much as us fans.

When you think Blind, Falcao, Di Maria, Shaw are all out so the squad is pretty much as per last year when we got humiliated. I just hope the players are going payback.

I don't want any of this just keep the ball, frustrate and hit on the counter. I want 100% passionate attacking and pressing football for 90 minutes.

I have no reason to think it is going to happen, but I hope with Rafael back LvG drops Fellaini and moves Valencia into that right sided midfield role. I think we will be so much better for it. Valencia will add pace to the midfield and he defends intelligently and isn't so wayward with his passing.

Who said Falcao is out? We have Rojo and Herrera who will probably start and I'm pretty sure Falcao is available but likely to be a sub. This team also has a lot more confidence and belief in itself which is far removed from how we played under Moyes. I definitely think they will be up for it.

I said Falcao out as if he can't play 90 minutes he is not going to start and will at best be a bit part player.

No doubt team has more confidence, I only question mentality. It is pretty obvious the fans are going to up for this big time.

I am particularly interested in Rooney. Piss poor on Monday and has never turned up against the Scousers. I want to see 90 minutes of pure effort, no in the face of the ref and getting p*ssed off if he doesn't get a free kick.

Not too worried about this. We really should beat a mid table team at home.

    Strange post.

Of course he has. If anything he tries too hard at times and sometimes that works against him but can you actually fault Rooney for a lack of effort, ever?
As far as mentality goes, the fact that we have been winning games when not playing well of late suggests a shift in mentality for me. Earlier in the season (and throughout the Moyesian era) we couldn't do that.

You must see a different Rooney to me in this particular game then. So I am not talking generally. To me he goes missing against Liverpool. Seems to me he holds back.

Like I say, love to see him come good and I will be first to praise him. If I am honest Monday's performance against Southampton was the Rooney I see against Liverpool. Gets easily frustrated.

was just watching sky some tw@t predicted a Liverpool win, could not identify him but i assume he is a dipper. He also said & i quote "both teams are not firing all cylinders". We've won 5 games on the bounce, these scousers are saying anything to to comfort themselves.

Restless now. I just wanna see the line up. IF we start 4 in the back and with herrera our chances are high for a win. I want Rafael back and hopefuly jones too with Rojo as a left beck. I have a stupid feeling that van Gaal mind games with Di Maria.

Liverpool have conceded 13 goals in seven away games at an average of 1.87 goals per game - only QPR have fared worse.

    For the betting man
On the other hand, there is nothing like playing Manchester United
This run of five straight wins will mean bugger all if we don't do the business tomorrow. I'm not sure whether it's the wine or not but I can see a 4-1 lesson in football. Let's send them back across that East lancs road with a long overdue hammering:devil:
I wish you are right but this is probably going to be one of there two cup finals this season.
I can see them raising the game for this one.
