    Probably

    ----------------Carrick-------------------
    --------Fellaini--------Mata-------------
    ----------------Rooney------------------
    --------RVP------------Wilson----------

I really hope herrera hasn't been relegated to a "impact sub" kind of player that only starts the odd game here and there.

When di maria went off he was a presence on the pitch, controlled the midfield.
That formation is way too open.

No, I think he hasnt. He played one game on the left after he was subbed in. I think Crystal Palace. He played as AM as always.
The way I've seen it is:

    -------- Carrick
    Fellaini Herrera Mata

Today it's the same, just with Rooney for Herrera

We really need to beat the hell out of these bastards.

It has been far too long since we have played them out of the water.

    Feck them.

I think the reason behind this would be his speed for counters as Falcao is still not sprinting 100% yet. Remember we don't have Di Maria's pace for this game? Let's just hope Wilson passes the ball & does not act selfish if he gets the chance :nervous:
I actually hope he'd act selfish and score. That would be sweeeeee-th.

I'm a bit more apprehensive about Wilson starting, this occasion might be a bit too much for him at the moment. It'll be only his 3rd start in the senior team, right? I suppose we dont have much choice, we do lack pace in attack without Di Maria
With RvP back in form, and against a woeful Liverpool defense, I really fancy Wilson to do well today!

By the way, how is Steve Bates getting team new? I thought we had put a stop to all that shit? Maybe Rodgers and LvG are trying to confuse each other.

I agree. I'll take any win today but u would really love to see us trash them by a few goals. We need some revenge after last season.

If Rooney, RVP and Wilson/Falcao start, there is definitely no space for Mata to fit in. Playing him in the middle makes so sense as hes not good at tracking back. I don't want Rooney to start in the midfield either. Its better if LVG decides to leave Mata for today and just go with Fellaini, Carrick and Herrera (Diamond with Rooney at the top).

    Anyways 3-1 to United. GGMU

I seriously don't see what Mata offers in midfield that herrera can't? Herrera can keep the ball better, shows for the ball more, is more mobile, has played there alot more than mata, can press, dodgy at tackling but at least he can unlike mata and is alot better around the edge of the box.

Mata does offer a goal threat but when we have RVP, Rooney and Wilson on the pitch surely we have more than enough potency upfront and we also have Fellaini and Evans for set peices, damn its confusing...

4-0 United, just placed a token bet on this scoreline. Let's rip them apart tonight.

Exactly. I'm not sure I like these leaks!
Me neither, hope LvG sends the asshat out of the club. Probably just rumours though, if its not been planted as his first mindgame-trick

Will be interesting to see if this is some kind of "mind games" but two people in semi-reliable media outlets hearing this rumour makes me think rodgers really has made the switch.
What kind of a mind game can it possibly be? To be honest, only today I came to know about Liverpool's 2nd choice goal keeper (Jones). But does it make a difference? I don't think so!

no idea, but if mignolet line up in goal later, seems like an odd rumour to spread around pre-game. I was just spit balling ideas more than saying it was actually "mind games" :)

I thought 'mind games' was saying your best players are not playing and then unveiling them at kick-off, not the other way round.
    Rodgers getting psychology wrong again?

What mind games? Both Mignolet and Brad Jones have been poor so far this season. It won't make any difference eventhough He does that.
Hell, I even think Mignolet is better than Brad Jones...

Personally I don't want Wilson in the team today. I don't think this is the right game for him to gain experience. I don't want Evans to play either but I fear I may loose that one. I want De Gea, Valencia, Blackett, Rojo, Young, Carrick, Mata, Herrera, Januzaj, Rooney, Van Persie.

With regards to which keeper starts for them and in the words of Alan Tate, don't care. They're both equally as bad as each other! Think about it Mignolet has been possibly the worst 1st choice keeper in the league and yet the continue to play him ahead of Jones which speaks volumes!

Really difficult to predict today's team.

    Wilson or Mata?
    Mata or Herrera?
    Herrera or Jones?
    Rafael or Valencia?
    Di Maria in?

    Lots of option!

I can't see Herrera starting, unless we go with 3-5-2 and Carrick is one of the CBs.
