This thread lol, following recent performances and the injuries I thought people would be content with how we're playing.
Yep we are playing well but just lack a little penetration and discipline. We will have chances second half.

People need to stop moaning about Chelsea as well. As expected Jose has given us respect and is playing his counter game. They have injuries too and need just a couple of wins to secure the title. He's being pragmatic.

Nothing is so common as the wish to be remarkable.
Be happy if he does the Rooney role last week. Just keeping them busy
Like Rooney last week, he just has to control the CBs movements.
To be honest, it's been pretty similar to Wazza's against City so far. Sitting in between the two defenders and trying to drag one or two out of position. When Rooney did it, it was being lauded as one of his best performances for United under LvG according to Gary Neville. I'm looking forward to hearing his analysis on Falcao's performance today if he keeps this up.
Seems dissimilar to me, might just be due to the players.
But during the first twenty minutes, he probably got just one touch on the ball. Tbf to falcao he dropped deeper later on.

This is typical of Chelsea's recent big games in the league. We've dominated the ball because they've let us. They're more than happy to play like the away team and knick a goal from a counter or set piece. Despite the huge gap in possession, both sides created one chance each and they've taken theirs.

For only playing 10 men, it was actually a great performance in the first half.

With the proper personnel and tactical change*, victory is still within our reach.

*Di Maria on for Falcao, Roo up top.

    First half ratings:

    de Gea - 3
    Valencia - 6
    Smalling - 3
    McNair - 5
    Shaw - 7
    Rooney - 4
    Herrera - 7
    Fellaini - 5
    Mata - 5
    Young - 8
    Falcao - 3
So it's been quite a poor performance by United according to that?

God, I bet you're a barrel of laughs if that's what you took out of that.

All of yours whinging about refereeing decisions do realise De Gea should have been shown a red card, right? He handballed it outside the area - the replays show it clear as day, though it's understandable the officials missed it in real time.

I think Rooney's having a very good game, don't know what people are complaining about tbh.

Too many trolls and way too many complaining, spoiled fans today as well. We are dominating ANOTHER game against a top side. If we lose and play like this with all the changes= fantastic sign for the future. You've got to be 11 to not see that

Most frustrating first half I've seen in ages...we were so good and then one blunder and we've just about lost now.

De Gea should've saved that goal, right through the legs, how poor.

A good first half from us Herrera, McNair and Shaw has been the big positives so far and if we can get a bit more lucky in the second half we can beat them.

We did well and dominated them apart from 10 minutes which is when they scored. We didn't create enough though, but you'll never create a load of chances against a Mourinho side. Fellaini quiet so far.

Sometime in the second half we'll see RVP for Falcao and Di Maria for Fellaini I think.

Hate this long balls from Rooney.. He should be playing instead of Falcao and Di Maria in midfield.

That goal seems to have massively influenced some opinions in this thread. Up until that goal we were by far the better team and most of the lads were playing well. Smalling, McNair and Herrera having very good games. Then Chelsea score and suddenly everyone is shite, Shaw not worthy of the shirt and we're back to mid season form. Get a grip ffs!

Just came home from work and couldn't watch us so far. How are we doing?

Falcao instead of Di Maria is disappointing, seems like he was shit again?

We are playing really well, just need to take some risks and actually get the ball in the box.

For all our possession we only really had Rooneys chance, which is a little disappointing.

Think leave it until 60 and then throw on Di Maria, Move Rooney to striker, bring on Di Maria and give Pereira a go. What can hurt?

That's not a red card for an outfield player, so why would it be for a keeper? Unless the ref sees that as stopping a goal scoring opportunity.

Di Maria needs to come on, just so we're not so predictable to defend against.
Not sure who he should replace though as I think we need someone a bit more defence minded than ADM in midfield.

We've dominated tbf. Just haven't created enough (too much turning back in a crossing position for starters) and should've buried the one gilt edged chance we did get early on.

Some of the whinging in here is pathetic.

So many agendas on here which have nothing to do with the match - very unlucky to be behind
There's plenty on here who have been waiting for a defeat so they can attack their hate targets. Winning matches doesn't suit them at all.

We have been alright but have not looked very settled in several areas in the pitch, which is understandable given the changes. Herrera has done fairly well at #6 but the fluency down our right simply isn't there without him close to Mata and Valencia, Rooney doesn't make the same runs or play the same way.

Rooney has done well, his close control has been very good today and means he has been able to make space for himself several times. However, we're not getting the benefit of it because we've got nothing down the right, and the left is being quite well nullified by the fact Shaw and Young are not on the same wavelength. When they've managed to link up its been good, but too often they're holding the ball because they don't know what to expect from each other.

Valencia's lack of forward vision is shocking. Should have connected better with Mata at the end of the half, but didnt even bother looking forward. Just back.
    Yeah I noticed that too.

I think Di Maria should come on for Shaw and Young can be LB

Nothing to complain here. Both sides showed good football. Chelsea got the goal they deserved, we did not.

Frustrating that they got that goal, because we've played quite well. Typical Mourinho in a big match to sneak a goal. Now I'm sure they'll try and hold on to it, and frustrate it further.
