Real are 1 injury away from playing Ramos in midfield. Why would they sell one of their only 2 real CMs? Illaramendi isn't trusted (and likely sold), Khedira is gone this summer as well and Lucas Silva will be a distant memory come next January.
He's likely their second most important player after Modric and someone they'd absolutely not sell. This will be a non-starter for Madrid.

Modric and Kroos accompany each other exceptionally well. Why should they sell one of them? They could easily add Pogba as 3rd midfielder who would be a great fit to balance their team. If they have to let someone go its either bale or Isco (+ Illarra/khedira)
That is true. Real have been at their best when both of them were on the pitch. We should have tried harder to get him last summer.
I'm thinking their midfield will be Modric, Kroos and Pogba next year (with Isco coming off the bench, playing when there's an injury).

Still not convinced by his defensive duties. Clearly benefits from a direct attacking team based on possession. His lethal right foot is a joy to watch tho. Madrid only paying 24m is a day light robbery for sure.

Was more in reply to the comment on his "lethal right foot" - I was more surprised by the stat of his lack of goals to be honest. Granted he offers a lot more than goals, but not sure i'd put anything close to a £60m bid in for him.

Kroos is fantastic,I didn't consider him so good when was playing in Bayern. Madrid doesn't sell its favorite players.The money is not important in those cases.If I were United I'd try with Verrati before Madrid does

Kroos was in the last season of his contract. Since then he was a crucial part of the German World cup winning team, followed up with an excellent season for Madrid. When Herrera goes for fees close to 30m, then Kroos' worth is pushing 50+ I think. (this is not a dig at Herrera either before someone flips...he's good but not in Kroos' class).
Kross costs them defensively. He's a fraction too slow at covering ground and Madrid lack a bit of midfield control because of it.
I can't see a Madrid buying Pogba for a midfield 3. They struggled with the midfield 3 just after a Christmas snd had a meeting with Ancelotti to change it back to their version of 4-4-2. Can't see why they'd go down that route again.

We should have offered him 250k per week last season. Yet some guys were claiming he wasn't "dynamic enough" for us wdf? Either way this transfer isn't even remotely possible any more.
He is miles better than any midfielder we currently got, he can play CM/CDM/CAM all at a world class level, and he could easily have replaced Carrick for us. Fecking Madrid got him for €25million as well.

Honestly I still don't think he is tbh, excellent player no doubt, but I think without Modric that Real midfield is pretty weak (even with Kroos).

True but Kroos has to pretty much play MF by himself a lot, Rodriquez and Isco naturally go forward a lot and joint the attack. Modric is a wonderful player, any team would piss him tbh.

That should tell it all. He has never really been renowned for his goals, it is his reading of the game and his excellent abilities to spray passes on the tie ( dutch saying) that makes him a quality midfielder. Winning individual duels is one of the elements of his game that need improvement. Nevertheless it would be a no brainer to have this fella in the squad.
Because Ramos or Modric playing in midfield is pretty much the same thing..
