It was a done deal from the beginning. The question was just do we really want him as our number 1.

You think Pereira is hard, try spelling the Southampton player, Morgan icantspellhissurname.
My shocking attempt of Perreria was auto corrected to perverts by my Samsung - so my text to my mate about sending perverts out on loan next season was all kinds of wrong.

Can't be good news for Januzaj if this happens.

Time will tell if he is the next Dutch superstar or a Blind like squad player from a very mediocre Dutch talent machine.

I think you've found a solution for a problem that wasn't there, and for that reason, I'm out.

The best news for Januzaj is getting a season out on loan. He needs consistent games to get his confidence back and LvG clearly doesn't trust him enough yet. I reckon Depay will be more Marc Overmars, Arjen Robben - well even half as good as those two he could be a great signing.
The World Cup didn't phase him and the Dutch league just seems too easy for him. I think he will be great if he signs for us...complete flop if he signs for someone else!

I am not sure about Januzaj's loan. We do not know if he'll get consistent games at another club. I think it would be better for him to train with the first team under the instructions of the manager who is a supposed expert in brining the best out of young players.

I am not sold of Depay from the little I have seen of him. I think he'll be found out in this league, won't be easy to score 20+goals against PL defenses and parked buses. Rest of his skills do not impress me very much.

However, I cannot give a definitive judgement on a player who I have not watched a lot. Hopefully, the ones who think he is the next big thing are right.

To be fair I only watched him in the world cup and a lot of highlights and occasional full match streams since we have been strongly linked with him. I do not believe he is a great dribbler who is full of tricks but his body strength and speed are very similar to Ronaldo circa 2006-2007, his dead ball skills are very high and he is full of himself on the pitch. Training everyday with better players, facilities etc can only make him even better. I could be wrong but I think he will adapt to the league quite easily. As for Januzaj if he goes to PSV or a lesser Premier league team he will play enough games, I'm sure of that.

Januzaj will go on loan and return once he's ready for more game time. I dont see a problem with buying Depay and Januzaj

One ocean away from Old Trafford.
Both an Eindhoven based newspaper and Voetbalzone/Voetbal international are reporting that Cocu informed the PSV selection about Depay reaching an agreement with us. They seem to think it's a matter of time before it's confirmed officially. Not 100% sure how reliable they are, @NL Max is the PSV watcher of us Dutchies on the Redcaf.

Telegraaf is reporting it's a done deal too. PSV and United have agreed a fee of around 30 million euro. Saying Depay is likely to travel to Manchester today to talk about the last details.

Problem with the 'Telegraaf' is that while they're the biggest Dutch newspaper, they like to bluff alot and don't consider themselves too big to put out some half-truths now and again. Would be nice if they're right this time though.

Twitter world saying the PSV squad have been told during training and congratulated him. Getting business done early. I like it.

If true then this is an excellent signing. A right footed winger with goals and pace is something we badly need and at the rumoured price he represents fantastic value. His age and development over the last season or so mark him out as someone who could be really special and it's always a good sign when transfers are done early.

I was waiting for the meltdown if this ended up like another Thiago situation. Great signing for you though if this is all true. He probably won't end up as good as Cristiano Ronaldo, but he has the look of a young Ronaldo.

Wouldn't be crazy to see Young or Mata sold. Di Maria/Memphis/Adnan/Mata as our wingers wouldn't be too bad.

Except Young has a new contract offer on the table we hear. Certainly scope to move Mata on as Herrera can fill that false wide right player, offering better protection to his right back, far better than Mata. I'd like Depay but as a more central or general squad addition.
