One thing to take from tonight is that anything decent we've played has been killed if Rooney's got involved, that's not even me just being a dick he's been shocking.

Same old people complaining about the 'pathetic' complainers. Don't worry lads. You lot just keep your head buried in the sand...
You always come on here complaining about the people that complain about the complainers.

We need to get Memphis more involved. He's been a spectator for the most part but when he does get on the ball he showed good touches. You can see his quality.

It means very little if we do well. It could always be that the opposition were not fully ready..
But getting carved open by a lobbed ball down the middle several times is cause for concern. It has to be. We arent ready yet.. and we dont have any more games to sort things out
Not at all. PSG played very well, just as we did in previous matches. No need to look any deeper than that.

Preseason means nothing. We murdered the opposition last summer and started the season completely flat. It means feck all.
It does mean something. It shows how LVG is thinking and gives some of the players a chance to impress.

You always come on here complaining about the people that complain about the complainers.
That's because I'm one of the complainers. So stop complaining about me complaining about the complainers complaining about my complaining.

Darmian played well. Johnstone good in the 2nd half. Memphis had a few nice flicks. Otherwise we were desperately poor. Created very little. Defence wide open throughout.

Darmian was excellent. Not worth getting up for though...

For what it's worth, I think it was crucial that Rooney played 90 minutes, he's a player that needs match fitness or his game suffers. It will do him good in the long term even if he hasn't hit the heights we expect today.

The problems are fixable though. Play your best defenders and scrap this left footed centre half nonsense. Playing Carrick and Schweni together too seems a no no as we end up too static in the middle of the park. The Rooney issue might be harder to solve but we don't know for sure if it's even an issue yet.
Point is LVG is very stubborn and I would not be surprised to see Blind starting as a CB against Spurs. He played all preseason games there. As for midfield, we need someone like Herrera to be there for it to be more mobile but he seems like a backup now rather than a first team player, so again I think we will start with Carrick/schweini/morgan there.

Rooney just looks like he has forgotten how to play like a striker. I don't blame him for that as he has had to feed on scraps.

I honestly feel unless there is a drastic change in our approach, we will see the same routine as last year where we tried to bore teams to death.

Rooney's had a poor preseason. Hasn't scored a goal from open play in 240ish minutes. Hope his season starts better, but I am not hopeful.

Overreaction central in here. It's only one game, lads. You'll be fine.

Has anyone got a GIF of the Ibra goal please?

Using the same formation for every minute of every game says something, something I don't like.

That performance was worrying. PSG gave a Premier League team's performance and we lost. Outmuscled us throughout game and then parked the bus in the 2nd half. That's exactly what we'll face this season and it was against those type of teams we failed last season. No sign that we've learned from it. Hope LVG realises we need a cb too. Not particularly confident now. Kane against those cbs would worry me. Darmian, Schweinsteiger and Pereira were good. No one else stood out for positive reasons. Smalling looked better when he came on but didn't have as much to do so hard to judge.

No I just randomly decided to dislike him. It's 4am and giving reasons to you isn't high on my list of priorities. Goodnight.
Nope, you cant stand him.I understand tho,you dont have good reasons for feeling that way, where it does not make you look loco.Good night indeed.

can we release rooney? He's been dire for years and is only getting worse, for his wages we could have five better players or more.. we desperately need striker, stop playing Memphis in the hole he's hit and miss there no positional sense for it, start playing Herrera, you arrogant!

Carrick misplaced too many passes, Schneidy good crossfield passes and lieks to stuck in, like that, we need that hard man in midfield, with Sweiny and Herrera it would be awesome midfield but I guess it will take the Dutchman another half season to realize that.

Pereira's best crosser in the team and very promising youngster, wouldn't mind if he started ahead of young. He likes to fight for the ball back is more creative and is young and will only get better..

Manuel Johnston.

I don't know why we took Shaw off, as soon as we did Pereira lost his affect on the game as Darmian didn't look as comfortable on the left as he does on the right.

The lack of players that can go past a man and inject some pace into an attack is so unlike United, it's just so pedestrian at times.

I am liking what I see from Sam Johnstone, he's been one of the pluses on the tour.

Disappointed that Adnan didn't get 20 minutes.

Watching it on MUTV the commentary is like WWE, as if they have a script to follow, like this constant narrative of this supposedly burgeoning partnership with Rooney and Memphis that just looks like odd socks. Also someone please tell Dwight that it's Darmian not Damien and did he call Cavani Frank?

Decent workout. We lacked a little urgency compared to other games. Overall most players did well enough. Some players noticabley very good (Darmian in particular) - some players stood out as poor.

Is Herrera injured or something?

And Johnstone is calm as feck whenever he had to go outside of the box to clear the ball. It's like he thinks he can still use his hands or something.

erm... youre missing the point im trying to make lol.
I'm not at all. You said he needs to pass the ball quicker after he was caught with it there.
I'm saying he was knackered and his legs were gone. When you get to that stage in a match, you make poor decisions and have poor touches because you just can't think or act quick enough to do the right thing.

I'm sure you've played and know the feeling?

We were undefeated and looked very good in most matches. Just goes to show it means little when we win, just as it means little if we lose. People really need to get a grip.
As I said, we looked good against the lesser teams and against a Madrid team who were less than halfway into their preseason while we were nearing our end.

People are not moaning about winning or losing here. That means nothing, literally, in a preseason match. Most are just not sure where the goals are going to come from. Unless you are suggesting that we will suddenly change/improve our style of olay and our attackers will start making runs and creating spaces while also scoring for fun, I don't understand why one should not be concerned at what we have seen so far in this preseason.
