Think i called that right then that you were getting Stam if i hadn't intervened.

Vidic and Kompany is good but along with Vertonghen could have a mistake in it.
Theon summed it up. There was a small handful of top centre backs available all around the same level: getting one of them was the important thing. Happy with our business here.

The two beloved wing wizards to have played for United face off against each other. The battle down the wings, winner takes all!

Enough about the flanks, it is all about the spine! Brains vs Brawn, to put it in one way. Old friends facing off on one side, while a legend and his successor battle it out on the other.

Continuing with the cliches, when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object! We have a king on one side, and a f*cking racist, a bloody talented one, on the other,so it can go either way!

And lastly, the iconic central midfield takes guard against our current skipper and co. Also, Keane vs Keane!

MJJ/Crappy vs Stobzilla

I haven't done the fine count for any of the eight teams, but there could be a team/quota problem for several managers.

But it looks odd that he wasn't picked, no doubt.

Not many players who are better than him, IMO - hardly anyone, actually.

bleezy should've picked him, even if he had to choose City's Toure instead of Arsenal's one (he got Rio to partner him anyway).

I am fine for any weekday this week, the weekend looks like being a busy one for me though. @Gio.

Could've definitely gone to Bleezy, yes.

Rio-Mellberg will do.

Strikes me, looking over the rosters, that there are plenty of plausible keepers that could've been picked to avoid having the likes of Seaman occupying a big-club spot.

Not that any of them were better than prime Seaman, but given the general non-importance of keepers in these drafts...

I dunno, the likes of, say Jäãskeläinen (Bolton) would've been fine. Chris Woods (Wednesday), for that matter. Bosnich (the Villa version). You don't actually have to argue on their behalf anyway, beyond stating that they were good keepers.

It's a fair point and one I'll learn from.

I do like Seaman in that he really marshalled his defences well. He was a true leader at the back. Hopefully that is taken into account.

Particular goalkeeper strengths in certain areas such as Seaman dealing with aerial balls and commanding his defence can be a positive talking point, however I think all would agree with you on the positions relative importance.

I think most of us agree that it should be - but in practice it never seems to happen.

At the best of times, you'll get some credit for sporting a GOAT like Schmeichel, but that's about it. But sooner or later...

A reform of several aspects of the drafts could be/should be underway - I've argued that we should look at the keeper thing for ages now, making it mandatory (or at least more necessary) to take the keepers into consideration when assessing team strength. The question is - of course - how.

I rate Woods highly: all-rounder, strong, good in the air. Should have started ahead of Shilts at Italia '90. That he occupied a Sheffield Wednesday slot made him ideal for someone.

I was surprised Jussi and cokehead didn't get picked. Woods is a good shout too.

diarm picked modric
Wonder how somehow he'll become a force in midfield after being previously owned by Sherwood and Batty.

Bergkamp wasn't picked. Madness

Ask Danny, he was the first name I wrote down when the final whistle blew in our game! :D
I wouldn't say he was owned at all. Himself and Bergkamp were the two players in your team that hurt me the most and very nearly won that game.

Seemingly well rated by yourself and the cafe, who else to occupy that midfield three which needed an upgrade
