I remember when pool sold suarez and signed a bucket load of trash someone made a comment about their use of netspend argument like someone being happy selling a lamborghini and buying 8 fiats instead for 0 netspend .

Selling a bunch of fiats to buy some fancy cars is so much better :D

He was horrendous last season and I think that may be clouding some people's opinions on Evans.

Overall he was a good servant for the club and he had spells where he was fantastic. Plus it's always nice to see someone come up through the ranks. Good luck to him.

That would work if you actually have 8 drivers, but you can only drive one car at a time so a ferrari will be better than 8 fiats. But hey, scouse logic eh

Won a couple of leagues too.

His best 3 moments-

3. Being part of the most minutes without conceding a goal defense alongside vidic
2.Fouling fernando torres which resulted in toress getting sent of for diving(second yellow).
1. Kicking drogba in the chest while vidic laughed on the sideline.

But in Liverpool with a Ferrari you'd be carless after one night so at least with 8 fiats you'd have a car until the 10th night!

Bye bye Johnny "future United Captain " Evans.

You can Join Danny "future world class striker" Welbeck in being crap for someone else now.

Good luck to him. Unfortunately became too complacent. Has been a solid servant for us, and clearly he's a fan. But there should be no passengers with us. When you have a LB playing at CB over you, then you know that you're not good enough regardless of how well Blind has been playing.

All the best to him.

Good luck Jonny.

He was a good servant to the club, he contributed to us winning trophies and was a good option when Rio/Vidic were out. All the best with the new club, I actually thought he could do better than WBA.

Is that the last of the 'deadwood' gone (excluding goalkeepers)?

Depends if you count Nick Powell or not. If he was just another player from the academy who wasn't good enough to make it with us then you wouldn't call him that but we spent actual money on him.

Good luck Jonny. WBA certainly need a CB of his calibre. Their defense has been a horror show comparing to their attacking strength so far this season.

It's a shame that he didn't flourish under LvG. Thought he'd be a great fit to "the philosophy" as a ball-playing CB. But his confidence looked shot after a couple of dodgy performance in a back three, and the spitting incident was the final nail.

I watched WBA the other week and there was a chronic lack of ability on the ball coming from their defence. A good fit and good level for him. No pressure should bring the best out in him.

We are losing our soul :(

Trust me, van gaal knows what he is doing. You think that a player who supposedly plays for united is ending up for a move to WBA or Everton then its van gaal saying sorry; it takes more to play for united.

Though darmian is starting right now; you can bet that van gaal is training mcnair to be ready to take over when that time comes. The same with wilson;who i believe is geared down now to play in a different position.

The same goes for the rest of our youth players including januzaj peireira etc; gear them towards a viable end product. Our soul isn't going anywhere just bought up to a higher level sinse we cannot rely on a manager like SAF any more. Buying players like Bale also add to the soul with keeping us up there with our ambitions.

Good move for him, i think with regular football evans will surprise many people this season.

I think he was being sarcastic.

He played himself out of the club last season, i have nothing against him personally, but this is the best for both parts.

Baffling. Mental posts thread material that there.

Exactly. Must be painful for WBA supporters to watch Olsson and McAuley labouring around every weekend. Hope Jonny can become their leader together with Fletch.

Shouldn't the title say West Brom and not Everton?

But good move for him and them. What he always needed is consistent game time and to stay injury free, and he wouldn't get that here.

How far away is Birmingham from Manchester? Hope Helen will not quit MUTV because of this!

I said that tongue in cheek :p

Sad person.
Indeed.

I agree with what your flagging up here. It seems most people are wishing the worst on our departing players. The last guy to leave with any well wishes seems to have been Fletcher.
Eh? Whose doing that? He was a good servant for us but let's not pretend most of us aren't happy to see him leave.

Selling Evans without bringing in a new CB is stupid. Jones and Smalling are known for ending up in the treatment room for long periods of time and we'll have more matches to play this season due to the CL. If we dont strengthen the team than we'll be lucky if we end up 3rd-4th next season

Surely 5 centre-backs is plenty even if we don't bring in a replacement? Smalling, Blind, Jones, Rojo and McNair should be enough cover.
