    YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
Think Herrera might leave at the end of the season. He's being wasted at United. LVG is becoming very very irritating with his team management.
Rooney should not even be wearing the United jersey. Yet he starts in spite of his pathetic record. Herrera who has good pace and has been a good player for us, misses out as usual.

AM not sure, but i feel Herrera never had a complete run in the team to settle himself. 1 ok / bad game and he is out.
    Ridiculous.

If United drop points or lose here, LVG will be under immense pressure. Zero pace in the team. Not looking forward to the game.
If I were you, I would concentrate on my spells and watch out for hobbits.

Mata is going to have an a tough time out there if it's the usual tactics. Schwein and Carrick will sit too deep to offer him support, and Rooney will just sit up front and do nothing. His best bet is getting it to the 2 young boys wide and hope they make something out of nothing.

The other players, it must now be grating on them.

Van Gaal seems to cut nobody else any slack, Herrera can have a bad spell during a game and get dropped, Mata must be close to the drop because he's been quiet for 3 or 4 games.

Smalling wasn't first choice during pre-season for some reason, he sold his Golden boy Van Persie, he dropped his player Memphis.

He's really quite ruthless with everyone, bar Rooney who he seems to give chance after chance after chance to. It's bizarre.

What with two deep lying midfielders? Doubt it.

EDIT: Saying that it happened against Arsenal. :nervous:
Hopefully van Gaal's learnt that trying to aggressively press the opposition's centre midfield with Carrick and Schweinsteiger isn't a tactic that's going to work. Particularly when once again Blind and Young are part of our back 4.

He didn't really play well at all, but I would have had him in that midfield two. It is far too slow.
That's the thing though when has Wayne really played well at all? I think that is more the point although I agree he was pretty bad against Palace.

Well, I hope we have a good game. Don't like to see Herrera benched, but we should've seen it coming.

Expect Moscow to crowd Martial and nobody to be there who can take advantage of it.
Lingard will be there to support Martial, but the ball will probably be played to Rooney who proceeds to lose it.

They were very organized in defence in the first game, letting us have all the possession as they tried to counter. They did get tired towards the end of the game, though. I can see us getting a few chances end of game. Like many of our games lately, really. I think we'll win regardless of when we score. Just wish we could come out firing straight away, winning it in the first half for a change.

What makes people sure Mata is number 10?

After his comments yesterday about Martial as striker, I think Martial and Rooney up front.

btw @Niall I think it would be nice if we could also along with rating the players there is also an option of rating LVG. It would be quite interesting what sort of ratings he gets especially in the climate we are currently under.
Yeah that's a feature many have asked for. Possibly something for next season.

Rooney was moved from the 9 for being shit, then moved from the 10 for being shit, now moved from the 9 again for being shit, but not moved from the team for being shit. Had enough.
    BRILLIANT!!!

If Rooney is going to have to come deep for the ball all the time, he will be knackered by half-time.

Even LVG wouldn't use Martial as a wing back.

    Would he ?
    ................De Gea
    .........Smalling Rojo Blind.........
    Lingard.......................Young..........
    ............Schwein Carrick.............

    0-0 mate. That's the target.

What amazes me is that Giggs, who played for such attacking teams in his past, allows this defensive nonsense to go unchecked. Is Giggs even saying anything?
What did he have for dinner last night? I only ask because you seem to have first hand knowledge of what's happening behind the scenes. I wouldn't insinuate for a second that you are making wild assumptions.

    There's only one United!
I do hope and pray that it's this at least:

    Mata Rooney Lingard
    Martial

I am hoping for a Martial masterclass tonight. He's the one thing about this LVG team that whets my appetite.

Have to admit not very confident about the game tonight, the team out is more or less the team I thought LVG would put out, but I don't like it, Rooney needs dropping and a midfield of Carrick and Schweinsteiger, does not fill me with confidence.

Rooney played at roughly the same level as Herrera at the weekend, IMO, and Herrera's really not a #10. Bit of a mountain out of a molehill if you ask me. Rooney up top and Martial out wide is ridiculous though. Stick Rooney in behind Martial and change things up dramatically. One of the main reasons for having Carrick in there is his incisive passing direct to the striker but Rooney completely neuters that threat.

So one game Herrera's form dips to the level of Rooney's and he's out the team? Makes sense.
