Cheers, guys. I was always going to play him as left forward, just curious. He'll have the freedom to roam which he did, always trying to find space behind the defence to run into.

I'm curious about naming unpicked players. Can I compare Boban to, let say, Lee Cattermole just for discussion?

I was shut down when naming certain player from a country that, anyway, couldn't be picked on the 3rd round. I thought the Rule of not naming unpicked players, if it could sway the result of that round.

It's 3 picks per round. And not naming players is a rule that covers the whole draft, not just that round. So if he might be eligible in subsequent rounds, it's better not to name.

THat might work on regular draft (era's, all time's draft, etc.). But the nature of Sheep Draft, each round has different criteria. So, if I mention Messi's name on Eastern Europe criteria, that shouldn't be a problem.

But that's up to the general consensus.

(I'm using Messi's name, because everybody in here knows him anyway).

@Gio are we getting the next criteria now? I'll be off whole of tomorrow on a NFL game and would prefer to get this done before that.
@Gio Just a suggestion, if everyone submits early, can we have the new criteria early? We can still stick to the 0900 & 2100 deadlines so nobody complains?

Basically yes. But the fewer sheep the managers get, the quicker the turnover is from one round to the next.

Can you add teh players list and the banned players with the new criteria post? Will make it easier to keep track off things.

Yeah - so did I. They were both on my "not a chance" list.
I didn't dare go for Czechs because if I had gone for one and he'd be blocked you'd end up with crap. Too big of a risk. Boniek wasn't a risky pick imo. I expected him to be blocked. Stoked about getting him. I think he's the best pick in this round unless you want to give keepers that much sway.

I thought the sheep would have to fit the criteria, as in he picked Hungarian and therefor he'd get a Hungarian sheep? I based my picked around that happening.

The sheep do fit the criteria. That was any players with a vote in the Ballon D'Or. If the sheep was subject to which country you choose then the quality of the sheep could vary significantly rather than on the same shabby ballpark.

Can I assume that if I get a sheep he'll just be someone with less than 30 caps but my pick 2 and 3 will have to be from the same country as the first?

I thought that was the point seeing as you had to have your 2nd and 3rd pick from the same country.

Both assumptions here but.. Sheep will be brutal this round seeing as we can pick players without caps. 2nd & 3rd picks do not have to be from the same country as 1st. Not in the criteria.

I was told recently that 40 was the new 30. Like 30 was the new 20 in terms of - you know - getting yer shit together and becoming a productive member of society.

I don't believe anything I'm told, though.

Well, apart from this: Yesterday I was accosted by a proponent. It happens, as most of you who enjoy fresh air from time to time will know (needless to say, many of you do not enjoy fresh air, but that is a different matter and nothing we need to get into presently). Anyway, this fecker accosted me - I thought at first he was some sort of charity guy, or doctors sans borders, or something along those lines, but no: He was a proponent.

His game was almost endearingly old skool and straight forward: The world is about to end.

"Do you realize," he said (in those very words) "that our days are numbered?"

He then went on to rant about recent events in Paris and Islam and so forth - so I told him to shut it. But I did, being in a generally upbeat mood, tell him that he was essentially right. Our days ARE numbered. This is very true - nobody can deny it. He seemed...I don't know - not pleased exactly, but not too far off.

Which is, incidentally, how I feel about this round.

The one thing I'm relieved about is that my Netto pick isn't void anymore. His 54 caps makes him ineligible for this round, so at least, that pick's not nullified in any way.

Other than wiki, which website to confirm the player's international cap?
