Cahill is by no means a bad player. But then again neither are any of the 1st round sheep. The criteria will to some degree determine the quality of the sheep.

That said, there's quite a gap here between him and the other two in this round. He's a well known player who isn't known for being shite either - it's pushing the envelope, I'd say.

Plus, it's pretty lenient for the round. Given who the others got, it would seem fairer at first glance to simply award him a pure no-mark.

Exactly. Cahill will be by far the weakest AM selected in an all time draft (barring further sheep). He's already up against the likes of Zidane and Laudrup.
you cant look it like that, every other sheep is also blocking a important position(so far strikers, centerbacks and midfielders).....snow for example gets fecking djemba djemba who is a clown and somebody gets a decent player from top leagues.

I feel bad for Snow getting Djemba Djemba as a sheep whilst Invictus/KM get Cahill.

Not really, tehre are 12 rounds.
Exactly. Now, it's impossible to say how this all turns out, but if multiple managers end up with more than one sheep, well - it could make quite a difference being able to sport a fairly reputable player (and not yer Djembas) in your XI.

No big deal either way, though. Someone will always question the sheep.

I would agree that Djemba Djemba is a bit too harsh for a sheep pick, as its hard to argue against him being a complete and utter liability in this company

Aye, there's a gap there...

Thing is that against a no-sheep team it probably won't make any difference if you're fielding Cahill or his mum - but if you end up playing another sheep'ed manager, it could easily make a huge difference.

On paper yeah Baros and Cahill are better than the rest of the sheep, but still sheep none the less. It's up to @Gio and the team, to decide of course. I'm ok either way.

on other hand that is fair assessment.

Chile-gate, followed by Cahill-gate. :D

It does say this in the opening post:

In the event of any dispute, my decision is final.
So let's just move on. :D

Yeah, move on - and it probably won't make any difference whatsoever.

The main thing is, after all, that the criteria will by necessity determine the quality of the sheep - so it won't be a "fair" distribution of them no matter what. Some chance will be involved in that regard, and that's surely how it should be.

This is outrageous. Chipperfield is FAR too good to be a sheep.

He was my 2nd choice for this round, ffs.

Fair enough. There's a gulf with the available sheep between nobodies and players clearly too good. Can we get one nominated and agreed? Failing that, I'll do it myself tonight.

I don't know how to tell you this, so I'm just going to say it unceremoniously: It was a joke.

Let's all go for the most blindingly obvious choice here.

Just want to clarify, penalty kicks (during the game not shootout) don't count, right?

Just for clarification if another player squares the ball to the FK taker from the direct free kick does that count?

Direct free kick, not penalties.

That would be from open play once the ball becomes "live". So I'd say that wouldn't count.

Jeez.. Cahill is fine as a sheep. He is not a WTF player in a line up like Djemba but playing him is effectively killing one attacking position in your team.

He's been replaced.

The point, if there was one, was that in a - not altogether unlikely - scenario where multiple managers end up with multiple sheep, he's actually a pretty decent player. And given that there were - clearly - worse eligible alternatives...there you go.

This is a very problematic round... :(
It's pretty much luck if you ask me. Some huge names but not enough options for some other close to GOAT level players.

Easily 9-10 blocks in the first round IMO...

You guys are fecking moaners -Cahill is better than other sheep because he is an attacker. You can get away with a qeastionable defender if the rest of the defensive unit is top notch but you are in serious, serious trouble if your attacking player in an all-time draft is Cahill

No, it hasn't been confirmed.

I don't know why. Chipperfield was announced (with a lovely pic of the man), but then the post was deleted.

I just hope that didn't happen because someone made a feckin' obvious joke. But you'll have to ask the authorities about that.
