I'd imagine José got sacked both times. The mutual consent thing just emanates from Abramovich's respect for Mourinho - the same kind of respect that led him to give us Petr Cech.

Was coming, but I'm surprised about the timing. Once he lost the dressing room, he had no chance.

I suspect it also means that JM won't be able to manage another PL club for quite a while.

Mourinho will be itching to have a go at Chelsea as soon as possible. It´s in his nature.

I think we will be keen to get hold of him, y'know?

I'd rather he had a good break before he came to us. Obviously we don't have time for that, what with LVG being pants.

Would much prefer Pep myself.

People saying they don't want him will regret it when we end up with Giggs. That would be far far worse.

Still laughing at Scousers.
Do you really need evidence with all that it´s happening? The Hazard injury story, Mourinho´s press conference comments about some players, the overwhelming majority of Chelsea fans thinking the same? The type of effort and performance of key players after the same players won the league and the league cup last year. You can understand them not being at the top but fighting relegation? It´s obvious Mourinho has responsability in this but the players aren´t blameless and played a big part in Chelsea´s downfall
Good post. Some of the Chelsea players have been dreadful. The game against Leicester was evidence of that and the pundits tended to confirm Mourinho's comments. I think their ship has been slipping for some time but this season with incidents like that with the Physio suggest there has been a growing rift between the manager and the players. The players' engagement with social media has been sloppy and an anti-Mourhino agenda has been evident.

 What is he still doing in your team
Bought him in for Sanchez (when Sanchez got injured). At that time, he played in strike and looked quite decent. They had the easiest of fixtures and no one else had him. As he kept farting air each match, I kept thinking "ooh they got TEAM X next I'll give him one more chance"...

He's his own worst enemy. I wouldn't have sacked him, its a daft move. But mourinho should have kept his mouth shut as well and not alienated the players which he always tends to do. l can see now why Charlton didn't want him at united.

I think italy is the place for him. That's probably the only place he left willingly.

Unbelievable. In the past few weeks he did look increasingly resigned to losing his job. The fire was gone and his usual touchline passion just want there.
I think he's been borderline depressed since the beginning of the season - certainly long before they lost hope of qualifying for the CL. There was no chance he was ever going to last the season.

For me, this has nothing to do with an owner with an itchy trigger finger and everything to do with a man losing all motivation for the job.

Question now is whos going to end up at Chelsea, id be extremely disappointed if its Ancelotti. I would rather we sack LVG and get Ancelotti in. Im not a fan of José, forget football, I don't like this guy. If Ancelotti does end up at Chelsea only Pep coming to UTD in the summer would compensate for the disappointment. I think Pep will end up at city to be honest. Just to clarify I'd rather have Ancelotti than the other two simply because I can see him being here long term.

I can see quite a few clubs needing a new manager in the summer, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Bayern, Real Madrid and only 3 top managers available, Pep, José and Ancelotti. Pellegrini and Benitez in the tier below.

From replacing Ranieri at Chelsea to being beaten by Ranieri to seal the fate. Full circle.

Yeah I don't really understand of those who would prefer Giggs over Mourinho.

Sure, I'm not the biggest fan of Mourinho and his antics, but to take Giggs over him we leave worse repercussions if things do go wrong.

Spot on, something seemed wrong in the summer but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. To me, it seems that the Madrid job really changed him.

In fairness, Giggs knows everything of what it means to represent United. He would have passion unlike anything you've seen since Fergie.

Contrary to popular belief.. the United job isn't that difficult. Unlimited money, poor league, referees generally bottle against you (don't take offence, it's true).. it's just that you haven't had a passionate character. Giggs would be a decent appointment.

He seems to be in a bad place now. Only 2 league titles last 6 years, 2 bad falling out and now his father in poor health.

Classic mid life crisis, wouldn't be surprised if he gets a divorce or summat.

He should take a sabbatical, sort his head out. Top flight football is no place for a depressed man.

His dad had brain surgery and then had a few strokes this year. He's been getting better the last couple of months though. That had to have some sort of impact on him.
