If we lose this, it should be a sack-able offense on its own. We surely cant lose this ? I just dont know!

We should win but i'm not sure what people have seen to think we can score 3+ goals. We barely have 3 shots on target a game.

I say this in pretty much every match day thread, but this time, we are playing against a Villa side who are completely devoid of confidence.

I don't like putting it this way, but Villa are losers through and through.
They have lost their last 6 matches. They can't even get a draw.
In the last few years, I have seldom seen an EPL team which embodies the "loser" tag, as much as this Aston Villa side.
I'll put it another way, if they played a conference side of players made up of 40-50 year old part timers, I'd put money on the conference side to win.
If Madrid played Aston Villa, I we'd probably see a double digit score line.

They are truly awful, but in the last 6 games they've still managed more efforts on goal than us.

    De Gea
    TFM--Smalling--Blind--Darmian
    Schneiderlin--Fellaini
    Lingard--Rooney--Martial
    Rashford

Almost certain Fellaini will play. He had to play against West Ham because of Carroll's aerial threat. Carroll wins 3.4 aerial duels per game for WHU. Gestede wins 6.4 per game for Villa.

    Oh crap lol.
I really laid into them in my post, but your comment brought me down to Earth :nervous:

In fairness, I'd play exactly the same same team, who played in midweek.
That was a decent performance and nobody who played against WHU deserves to be replaced in tomorrow's game.

Looking forward to this after a hectic week of work.Stashed my refrigerator with beer and getting set for later but we should as well give up on football if @GlastonSpur has his way;we are a hopeless club and Spurs are the present and the future,we can only hope to be like them.

I hope he plays 4-3-3 again. Villa are pretty much done and dusted so you would expect victory here.

Schniederlin is a much better player in a box to box role, rather than as a water carrying two. I'd like to see him in place of Herrera in the same formation with Carrick at the base.

I like the 4-3-3 also, but Fellaini and Schneiderlin looks too workman like and not creative enough.

Mata has not been great at all, but we know he has it in him to pop up with an assist or goal.

I think there are more benefits to shoehorning our squad a 4-3-3 rather than shoehorning our team into a 4-2-3-1. That ten position is just to vital and nobody can play there properly. It creates more problems than the 4-3-3.

But the 4-3-3 can also be very sluggish if you don't have the players for it. Then it's just a lot of possession without penetration.

My preference from the start of the season has been Fellaini - Carrick - Herrera, but without Herrera it's not creative enough. Unless LvG suddently decides to play Andreas Pereira, i don't think 4-3-3 is the way to go against Villa.

Either way, i don't think formation should matter against Villa, it's a must win game no matter who plays. :)

We've got four box to box midfielders and no proper #10s. Lol I still would prefer Carrick or Blind at the base with Morgan/Herrera or Fellaini as the combination in front. I think Mata is a much better player when he is playing right of a 4-3-3 as well.

The movement off the ball is what is supposed to make it work but the rigid discipline of Van Gaal's system has really neutered that for us this season. People standing about waiting for things to happen and they never do.

Schneiderlin and Fellaini as the two attacking players in midfield 3 is a joke, how can you even suggest that in the first place. Have said it schneiderlin is limited as a box to box midfielder in a midfield 3.

Same team But Schneiderlin in for Carrick and Rooney in for Herrera.

You must not have been following when I said that Schneiderlin was a much better box to box player than water carrier in a 4-2-3-1.

I hardly think it is a joke, it is the only proper way to fit Carrick, Schneiderlin and Fellaini in the side. You wouldn't want two water carriers and Fellaini at 10. Chill your loafers, lad.

This will be his fulham/westbrom game. The sword of damocles shall fall.

He could shit in the Glazers' morning coffee and they wouldn't fire him.
LvG must have photos of them all in compromising positions.

This should be a game where we destroy them simply to punish them for turning up at OT and calling themselves footballers.

It will however be a game where we feck around aimlessly passing it sideways for 75 minutes before one of the lads ends up getting bored and slots one away for a dreary 1-0

I hope we get to see some youngsters play these lot, they got beaten by their U21s so using half ours and we can still smash them.

Why do we have to fit the three of them into the team, that 3 lack creativity ,movement and finesse. Rather have Mata or Rooney in there and this from someone who dislike both.
