Though it will suck when we'll be losing him for the African Nations Cup, especially if he turns into an integral part of our team.

Actually we're going to lose him the very next season to the African cup 2017 in January. Hopefully we don't get set backs like City have had when Toure left to play National footy.

You like telling people this don't you. Haha just kidding mate good stuff. Hope he kills it! (Btw is your name a parks nd rec reference?)
Yeah well because I almost went full fruityloop in the newbs with insisting on us considering him, fun when it happens :)

And yes, it is a parks&rec ref. , Ron Swanson is my favourite character on any tv-show ever, well him and Al Swearengen from Deadwood.

Admit I don't know much about him like many.

However, in my view pretty much all of our best signings are people many would know little about.

How many people were following Schmeichel, Stam and Vidic before they signed? Or more recently Martial?

I'd go so far as saying all our best acquisitions have been from less established clubs/leagues.

Great news. Been wanting to sign him for 10 years.
Who is Eric Bailly? I've never heard of him.

Lets hope he becomes another Martial - nobody heard of him before he joined us, but a few months after he joined EVERYBODY knew of him.

You are now Bailly's NLMax. Your very existence on this forum depends on Bailly's form.

Wondering what Mourinho's thinking is with Bailly. Is it simply an opportune signing based on his potential or is he wanting to partner someone with him from next season?

We're short on centre backs and the futures of Jones and Rojo are uncertain so I could see us signing another centre half - especially if United believe they can do a deal for Stones. Although I think we're down the pecking order for him. Behind City and Barca.

Good start to the silly season. Get a decent player with development potential and youth on his side recruited in a position where we have been needing quality and physical robustness.

Excellent news to read about on my Lunch.

I have to be honest, I don't know too much about him but I didn't know much about Vidic either before we signed him.

I'm happy to go along with Jose when it comes to signings, I trust he knows what we need after watching us for the last 6 months.

Hopefully Mikes CB partner for a long time to come.

Never heard of him or seen him play, but I didn't hear of Vidic. Martial I had seen play against Arsenal and he looked about 40 and I couldn't remember hi s name.

Obviously the scouting team knows his qualities and now he just needs the right coach to bring out the best in him.

Bye Blind I did like you!

I've been dying to sign him since my days of hanging out with my mate, King David.

Everyone thinks he said "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil."

What he actually said was: "Yeah though, ah watched a youtube walkthrough ah Bailly of El Stadio Madrigal, eeeeee well fierce anarrrl"

Don't know much about him but Utd have signed a centerback. Early with little ditherydoo.

Woody should be checked for doping.

Di Marzio says 32M Euros (£25M) and could rise to 40M Euros (£31M) depending on performance.

Here's to hoping we pay the full £31M!

Fair play to Balague for calling this one first. He probably deserves a better reputation than he has for transfers. I'm sure he's called a few big ones over the past few years.

Don't think it's Blind that should be worried about this signing. His versatility will mean he gets plenty game time at Central defence, Left Back and Midfield. I'd be more worried if I were Jones or Rojo.

Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw

Insanely fast back 4. Next season will be really interesting if we substantially improve our attack.

First signing under Mourinho is tall, quick, strong and athletic. Prepare for more of the same.

BBC, SKY, Guardian etc all reporting that the fee is £30m but of course some on here will go with €30m reported by the likes of Marca:rolleyes:
It's undisclosed right? I'd say Marca have better Spanish sources than ballbag.

And as others have said, appears both could be right. English focusing on total anount with add ons, Spanish press focusing on original fee.

It's been pointed out to you at least half a dozen times now that the fee can rise to £30m but that's not the basic level and also that every one of those lot has swapped a '£' for a '€' plenty of times in the past, yet you continue you with this bizarre obnoxious attitude towards anyone not just taking shitty British headlines as gospel.

 indeed.
