As a manc born and bred myself, back in 60s when I's 40 if I'd known that one day I'd have to suffer the ignominy of seeing the Whiskey nose managing my club and as if that wasn't enough, then go through the utter humiliation of seeing Shitcoat managing my beloved club, I'd have never associated myself to this club!

Shankley and Paisley are head and shoulders above Busby and Ferguson, Manchester City is the true club of the people of Manchester, and American football is much more entertaining than its European counterpart.

Got to ask mate, but why? are you maybe closer to me than ten feet for real? (if so yikes!) Or did you think it was not funny or weird haha

If you are close to me, any chance you could fetch me a beer out the fridge :D
I forgot I was in the football forum and realised people might not get that "in-joke" and I'd just look a bit weird

Anderson needed another season, he was in good shape and would have sorted our midfield for years.

Ryan giggs only became a good player after he started banging his sister in law

I'm doubting people's commitment to Sparkle Motion
Januzaj's ceiling is higher than martials
Can't say that I noticed much difference to be honest. Although thinking about it now, Yanoosigh does have to stand on the fourth step of his stepladders to poke at the spiders nest, while Tony only has to go as high as the third rung at his house to put up the ceilling border wallpaper... so there is that to think about I guess.

Ryan Giggs has worked with LVG so he was necessarily the man of the situation to replace him.

Lets not get too sensationalist here.

Has to be something about the "size" of the club. I noticed Redcafe is very self-conscious when it comes to that. So here it goes:

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern are clearly bigger clubs than Manchester United, based on European Cups, league titles, current success, historic teams, Ballon d'Or winners etc. etc. and it's arguable for Juventus and Milan as well, although the Italian sides are unlucky to be playing in a broke league right now while United is lucky to be playing in the richest and most marketable league which automatically keeps United financially on the top and well-marketed irrespective of the actual success on the pitch but you wouldn't call Arsenal bigger than 7 times European Champions Milan either just because Arsenal are richer, better marketed and have more people following the Premier League right now, would you?

And yes, that was one sentence.

Trophies: We are as big as anyone. Most successful club in one of the top leagues in the world puts us on par with Real, Juventus and Bayern.
Continental Success: We're behind more than half a dozen teams.
Historical Teams and Calibre of Players: The big Italian and Spanish sides are ahead of us. I would say in fact that it's a toss in between Milan and Real.
Brand and Global Reach: We're number one or at least joint number 1 with Real Madrid

All in all we are clearly up there but clearly lagging behind in some criteria. Everybody else does though except Real.

Nani was rightfully sent off against Real Madrid in 12/13
Now I am angry. You win the thread. The rest were just bullshit pub debate chiff chaff. But if I ever hear you allude to that Bosphorous vat of grease-faced little willy ref again I am going to climb through this internet portal I made directly into your mum's spare bedroom and thrash you with a very very active bees nest. He cheated, he didn't want us to win, he's small, he's anti-English/United and that decision changed the history of this club. We could have attracted Pardew not Moyes.

I have a few actually that I genuinely believe.

1. Chris Smalling is rubbish and we won't win anything if he's our first choice CB. He nearly cost us the FA Cup final with his lack of brain. And I reckon he'll be exposed if Blind leaves.

2. Fellaini was our best midfielder last season. Scored vital goals in the FA Cup and played well in most of the big games. LVG was right to start him regularly and we would have got top 4 if he wasn't suspended for the West Ham game.

3. Paul Scholes is one of our best ever players but some people kid themselves when they compare him to the likes of Zidane, Xavi, Pirlo etc. He wasn't on their level. I don't care how many times you show me that Zidane quote.

5. I am glad Mourinho is not babysitting Giggs like our previous two managers.

6. Wayne Rooney is actually awful at times and should be nowhere near our Starting 11 in 2016. We need a proper CM but I have this terrible feeling that Mourinho will be told to shove him in there every week because he's too crap to be a striker and he can't be dropped until he breaks that stupid record that nobody really cares about anyway.

7. Herrera is overrated. Carrick shouldn't have been given a new deal. And Schweinsteiger should be sold. His wages must be through the roof.

8. Juan Mata is our best outfield player by a mile. Always pops up in the important games and we should build our midfield around him in the #10 position.

The section of Liverpool fans that chant about Munich are no worse than the section of our support that chant about Heysel and Hillsborough.
