Longer version of his interview which was shown at the end, in case any of you missed it :D

Not seen a lot of that side of him before, mostly his interviews get circulated if they are prickly, that was terrific, his attitude is just top notch and he seems really happy to be here.

Out of curiosity, what exactly would he be doing in the medical to test his "power"?

"I come to win. I don't come to West Ham. I don't come to look at the weather"

He said 'waste time', but it sounded very much like that, and I like to imagine he knows they're a shite club.

Yea, PSG only won it by 30 odd points last year. Great level of competition.
Take away Real and Atletico from La Liga and you'll see that the gap between Barca and the next team is just as big as PSG's.
Clearly this means that Messi's and Ronaldo's scoring records against the 4-20th placed teams in La Liga doesn't mean shit because my 7-yo nephew could put up the same kind of numbers if he played for Real or Barca (and definitely the same as Zlatan for PSG)....

Just get on with it and say that you don't like Zlatan instead of shitting on a league you probably don't watch anyway.

If you can't find Zlatan exciting what exactly do you find exciting.

His personality and footballing talent are equally exciting. You'll point to age no doubt but he just came off a season where he scored 48 goals.
Idk? But this signing isn't exciting, if it is to others that's fine. Personality means jack shit. Like someone said it seems to be the name that wetting people's pants, not the player himself. The club also signing him on a one year deal, indicate what kind of signing he's supposed to be. Can't wait for his goals if and when they come though!

That makes zero sense. So removing the 2nd and 3rd best placed teams means there might possibly be a wide gap from 1st-4th comparable to 1st-2nd in the french league, proving that it is comparable to La Liga?? Okay, great argument.

He was involved in more goals last season then our entire team combined... How is that not exciting?

No CL win in his CV. Maybe he can win himself an extension and do something about that.

I'm not saying that Ligue1 would be as good as La Liga if you'd remove Real and Atletico..

Im comparing Barca with teams 4-20 in La Liga and PSG to teams 2-20 in Ligue1. What's wrong with that?

My point is that playing 4 more difficult games/season doesn't make a league have a "great level of competition". Which was the statement in the post I quoted.

Years of getting criticised for being overly positive and now this. Guess I can't win.
Well you were criticized I'd imagine for being positive about Moyes and things like that, while being pessimistic about signing someone like Ibrahimovic. Just seems backwards

Obertans #1 fan.

Quite clearly do not go against the grain on most things. I'm over the moon with the Miki and Bailey signings. In general just try and support everyone at the club.

In the test don't you have to run on a treadmill with an oxygen mask on till your lungs bursts!!! :wenger:
He must be Superfit , he's gonna be good till he's 40, he don't need pace he's never had it anyhow, remember Sheringham he was 31 when we got him, we are going to have a few glorious years ahead with Zlatan.

Falcao was the true mercenary.
This guy would play for any team who bid the highest £.
MUFC, Chelsea (and he'll be at a different club this coming season).
And he'll do a terrible job.
And after he has done a really bad job (which he will, because he doesn't give a damn about the club he plays for), he'll ask that his wage be paid on time.

Then lets not forget about Di Maria. Real wanted rid of him, so he sold his services to the club who would pay him the highest wage.
Or how about Memphis, who upon signing with MUFC, felt he had "made it" and could now chill out, resulting in performances which got progressively worse, until even LVG (his supporter), dropped him.

Ibra has an insane track record of winning leagues and being his team's top goal scorer; and you don't have that track record, by being a mercenary.
Mercenaries (Falcao is the best example) seldom reach those levels of performance for a sustained period of time.
Haha. A 22 year old mercenary? Hahaha:lol::lol:

OK,he's 34 but he's super fit......probably fitter than most guys 4 or 5 years younger than him.
He's only got a 1 year deal but I'm sure if he proves to be a success it will be extended.
I just hope his signing doesn't limit Rashfords playing time.....they should both be in the starting line up,imo.

I dont dislike the signing. However unlike some in this thread I am not going to name my firstborn after a one year stopgap signing who whilst probably still useful is past his best.

As I have said (I am sure that many will disgree) I feel that some are caught up in the idea of signing the famous "Zlatan" with the quotes and the ego rather than the reality of the 34 year old version who is hanging around for a year before heading to the MLS graveyard.

Someone said if we don't find this exciting what would excite me? A Zlatan ten years younger would be a good start.

Seems reasonable.

Fair play to Ibra for putting his rep on the line right at the end of his career. Personally I think his career decisions have largely ensured he's a big fish in a small pond. On this occasion he isn't joining a club that's the best in the league. He isn't joining a league that's beneath him. So that takes a bit of courage at 34.

He talks a lot about hard work. Clearly he does put a lot into his physique and I hope the young players learn from that. Talk is cheap though and with Ibra you've got to separate what he says from the reality. On the pitch he doesn't work hard. He'll have to now though or the games will pass him by.

Good or bad I'll withhold judgement until Christmas.

I still go "What?! We did? No way!" every time I see this thread title. I don't think I'll fully come to terms with it until he's played a few games for us.

The funniest bit was when he was yelling at Leonardo for starting PSG's title celebration while Zlatan was doing a piss test.

Guys, we have just signed a wild, peak Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

That is all that needs to be said.
