I don't think so. Progressing further than England is a very big deal to us. Let's not forget that this could be a once in a lifetime thing for us.

England may look at a team like Wales (and Iceland) as a bunch of nobodies, but from a Welsh perspective it's bloody horrible being so far off the footballing radar compared to England.

For us, getting this far alone is something we will talk about forever, but progressing further than England is just as sweet for us.
Oh yeah completely agree with that. It's just the celebrations after another team lost seems a bit of a small time. Bit City like.

I read today how Iceland built lots of Uefa certified closed pitches so football can be played the whole year, not just from spring to October (somebody correct me :)) and heated pitches with floodlights so kids all over the country can play football all year long.
They're putting a lot of money in football and it's paying of.
Yes it's true..

Sounds great really!

On the other hand I'm depressed cause here very little money is put in football. We're blessed with the fact there's always talented players coming out but I can't imagine how good it would be if we actually put some money into the whole thing...

We're playing you guys in WC qualifiers. Don't know where's the first game and when though. :)

A bit OTT and classless IMO.
Must admit i was going to support Wales and was happy we still had a British team to support. After seeing this, maybe I'm being petty, but not gonna support anymore...

I think most of the money for this was from UEFA/Fifa.

that Wales clip would be them half pissing themselves at the same time. Ive no problem with it whatsoever, England deserve the ridicule, every last bit I'm afraid. If we had a tiny bit of Wales, Rep/Northern Irelands ethic we'd still be in it

I know Rooney was bad last night, same as most of the team, but this is disgraceful:

Hodgson to Rooney:
'Wayne, the brexit vote wasn't an instruction to you to drop out of the Euros'

Rooney:
'Ooohhhh'

You need to be over the border in Wales to truly understand our joy. We get feck all but England, England, England rammed down our throats from the media. How they are going to win every tournament they enter, even stores like sports direct have England to win outside Welsh stores!! When we played Russia the other night, in place of talking about the Wales v Russia game at half time, they dedicated most of the interval to talk about the upcoming England V Iceland game instead. It really pisses on a Welsh mans corn flakes to be honest. In all fairness to the players, none of the animosity is directed at them, just your fecking media bollox.

What people don't realise is that the Welsh players get teased by their English counterparts all the time for not qualifying for things.

Besides its not like the English ever make jokes about Wales - even back in 1990 World Cup song we made an appearance at 1:40

Can't believe people are surprised that the players were happy when England went out to Iceland, considering how disrespectful everyone before the game were to Iceland, just like they are to other small nations like Wales. Especially as England are wales' biggest rivals.

Don't think people would have a problem If that was man Utd players laughing at city getting beaten in the fa cup final to Luton or something.

the question with England teams, do they learn to respect other teams? Portugal is the same way they always have problems with the so called "small" teams and sometimes they have surprises.

I think it's more likely to by lack of bottle - 'What's going to happen if we lose?' now with the added bonus of putting half Spurs' squad and shoehorning them as much as possible just because on the back of coming from a good season, bottled at the last minute anyway. I am far away from being Rooney fanboi but I can still say what I said before the euros, Rooney was the best 9 going into the tournament but Hodgson was shit-scared at the potenial media reactions 'NO KANE!!!!' and so on.Also, don't get me even started on Sterling and Sturridge (he somehow miraculously escapes lambasting after that horror Euro spectacle).

Play Rooney top with either Vardy or Kane partnering. Put two wingers - one extremely attacking minded: Rashford, one ball playing orientated: Lallana on separate flanks. Bomb them with full backs constantly: one full back making traingles with a cm and his winger, the second one follow the suit. Defence will run their fair share but need to stay focused and your cm's must be functional and lash it from time to time. This simple game ruined by idiots.

Fancy crush on 4-3-3 when you clearly are not intelligent enough as a footballing nation to grasp especially so close to a tournament instead of the lambasted and 'out of date' 4-4-2 which, surprise surprise, has been played Iceland and has lookd much better offensively (they have the better chances) and defensively (you created zilch).

An Italian mate of mine asked if that Harry Kane would be interested in joining Juventus. Its worth spending 20m euros on a big chap as a reserve as replacement for Morata

Lemmy has forsaken us....
Put simply, the smaller nations were so shit we couldn't beat them and it's their fault.

Great isn't it.The shitter you are the further you go. Go Wales , Iceland, NIR :) we're all so shit, we're good.
To be fair, Shitpicker was complaining about the small teams too, obviously they should let Germany walk all over them.

Bobby Charlton was asked how he thought the England team of '66 would have fared against Iceland.

"I think we'd have won 1-0" he replied.
"Only 1-0?" Said the reporter.
"Yes," said Bobby. "Most of us are in our 70's now!"

Iceland have had the ability to produce great results for many years, but it's first since Lagerbäck took over in 2012, that they've found the consistency needed to qualify for major tournaments.

It'd be extremely small time and very very unprofessional.

So yeah I'll definitely be rooting for Portugal now.

Again, Wales playing Belgium in their moat important game for nearly 60 yrs and what do the English media do, dedicate most of the half time talk analyzing why England failed to beat Iceland. And you wonder why we dislike the English team???

Watch it on s4c you can have welsh commentary and no talk of the English team at half time . The English media are always going to talk about the England team
