I'm not overly bothered by the result. In that heat and against a good team with 4-5 games already under their belt it was always a big ask.

Hopefully it's given Mourinho the chance to weed out some shite for good.

Absolutely appalling performance today! Bloody sickening watching that sorry display, I have to be honest...
Mourinho would want to cop on and set us up a lot better than that, when the competitive matches come around or he'll be facing the boot again. We also need to sell at least half the players that played today, I'm sorry but it's the truth. Enraged is an understatement!

Did I get you? It's a pre-season friendly for Gods Sake! hahaha
Pull yourself together, it is pre-season, it does not matter in the big scheme of things, really it doesn't. SAF used to have some apalling pre-seasons.

Meh it's only pre season, Not fussed one bit. The fringe players did themselves no favours though too much dross in the squad.
This. The likes of Rojo, Jones, Blind and Lingard who probably shouldn't be in the squad just reinforced that tonight. Could add a few more in Memphis and possibly Herrera to.

I did not watch it , because pre-season matches like this mean nothing, they are IMHO just to get players fit , build some team spirit and help new players settle down with their new team mates.
The City game will have some added spice but it is still a pre season game and has such means nothing.

The over-reactions are amazing. More amazing than the fact that Rojo is employed as a footballer - he is one of the worst players I have ever seen in our shirt.

Youre better go to get yourself a scoutsystem otherwise you will keep it in thatway that everytime you watch us playing with your mouth open you start a player-thread in the transferforum and pray that you get him.
In fairness your scouting system is pretty top notch. But you're also not a team expected to win anything so it's easy to bring through these players and develop them whilst Bayern reap all the rewards.

We really don't need Darmian, Valencia and TFM. I'd sell Valencia before the window shuts.
I don't think Fosu-Mensah is a natural RB. I see his future being in midfield. Darmian should stay. I'd welcome Fabinho. A RB specialist is seriously needed.

An embarrassing result. I can understand and accept a loss, the tenure under LvG has shown that preseason doesn't mean much, but 1-4 is unacceptable unless you face a team with the quality of Barca, Real or Bayern.
It's preseason. I remember watching a preseason tournament years ago (03, I think) with Ferguson in charge and we were terrible in every game. I honestly don't care if we lose every single meaningless fitness friendly. It's all about Jose having a chance to observe his squad and get them suited to this tactical setup whilst they achieve fitness. It's really not important at all - we frequently beat the likes of Barca and Madrid in these things, only to play terrible when the season started.

Without sounding like I'm reviving the dreaded 'can a loss be a win?' argument, I think we can take positives from us being beaten is such appalling fashion this early in the preseason. At least for Jose it'll illuminate the passengers we have in our team and whether its necessary to further invest beyond our 4 core targets.

I'd rather take that than walking pre-season, convincing Jose to stick with the likes of Rojo and Jones going into the season.

I think a backup CB is a bigger priority than RB to be honest. I just don't trust our second choice CBs one bit.

I couldn't think of giving anyone else credit, they did create the goal between them
And Mata created our general uselessness in Dortmund's half, he at least contributed to it. Bailly was the only good player on the field for United, it could be down to a lack of sharpness but I just think that most of the players who played today are not good enough to start for us, they are only good for depth.

It's early pre season, so I'm no arsed about the result. Hopefully it's made Jose push for another CB.

Dortmund have fabulous pace and wide options. We need better squad depth there.

Oh and this Slig guy is like a teenage schoolgirl that's just got her first period and hates everything and everyone as a result. It's not even remotely amusing.
Tbf, it should be mentioned that there is a number of people here who keep tagging him, and try to provoke exactly these kind of postings with similar childish comments

Same here. Get Pogba in as well. Any injuries to a CB and the midfield will be playing just like last season, too scared to attack because they daren't lose the ball.
