2 wrong in the lineup prediction, didn't have Lingard or Mkhitaryan. Not surprised Martial is on the bench, but Mkhitaryan was a doubt with an injury so little bit surprised at him starting. Rashford is a great option off the bench, if Martial comes on he will busting a gut to prove he deserves his starting spot back, Mata also, so some good subs to bring on to win the game if needed.

Defensive setup from Mou, looks like you'll try and bully us in midfield then hit us on the counter attack

Wow, did anyone predict that Lingard would start? Still, looks like a strong team, and there's some genuine game-changers on that bench.
I thought he would start over Mhiki, think he could be useful today more than usual for obvious reasons.

Don't see us winning today personally, going for 1-1 or possibly a 1-0 loss, probably the former

As expected, Mourinho opts for the defensive and boring option in nearly every big game.
All he has done is add pace to the side and brought in players who will help tracking back he has hardly gone full blown defensive has he.

Interesting team. Should have known Mkhitaryan was gonna start. I also figured Martial would ha e been dropped.

Hopefully not too much boring shit. It is a home game after all.

Also hopefully nothing like players diving all over the places to get someone sent off and ugly shit like we saw in spain between these 2 managers.

Glad to see Mhki start. Would have give Martial a chance to run at a questionable defence but Jose is obviously putting out a more defensively aware team.

Would have liked Rashford for Lingard, but Jose knows what he is doing.

Balanced rather than defensive, I'd say. Mkhitaryan and Lingard attack as well as they defend. Albeit Lingard isn't as good in attack as Mata or Martial.
It's arguable that Lingard makes cleverer runs than either. He doesn't have the technique of either, but his positioning is great. Think Jose will rely on Lingard to run in behind on the counter.

Mourinho going for a two man midfield against Pep:eek:. Genuinely surprised by that. Although he has compensated by having two of his most hardworking wingers.
Also huge vote of confidence for Fellaini.

Will be a funny experience. A team coming to Old Trafford and having all the ball. I pray we make good decisions on the counter.

I'm at the bernabeu, going to watch the madrid game at 4. Anyone know of any bars that will show the United games that are close by?

Didn't particularly mean the lineup, mainly the tactics. I don't really mind it, takes the sting out of the game. Just as long as it's not boring for every other game, which it won't be.

Nah. I think we'll keep it tight for 55-65 minutes then chase a result with Rashford and Martial.

Happy with that line up, other than Rooney of course. For people claiming we have gone for more pace on the wings though, Lingard isn't very quick at all, he has good agility and is a decent dribbler but he doesn't have great pace, despite what many think. Mhki is reasonably quick but again isn't blistering so the claim we have more pace now is not accurate given that we have dropped Martial who is quicker than both of them.

Think Lingard will start, with Martial being dropped. Possibly Mata will be out of the starting eleven as well, with Mkhitaryan taking his place. Rooney will play, so no three-man-midfield.

    Valencia------Bailly---------Blind------Shaw
    -----------Fellaini-------------Pogba
    Mkhitaryan---------Rooney----------Lingard
    -------------------Ibrahimovic
I'm just gonna quote myself from two weeks ago..

There's only going to be a few good chances in this game and I hope ours don't fall to lingard. How he's in the line up ahead of mata and martial is incredible.

    Which will it be?
I imagine it'll start as the last one but there will be a lot of interchanging.

Surprised to see Lingard start. Mkhitaryan too, but less so. Good team. I agree with those that say they are in the team for their work rate.

Would hav liked Rooney to be dropped for Miki so that way we can have 3 extremely fast forwards in Martial-Miki-Lingard, but this is good anyway.
