Really looking forward to the game. Need a good reaction from the team after the abysmal derby performance. I'm really struggling to understand those who didn't want us to play in the EL, more United games is always a blessing!

The silver lining for me is that the Europa League channels cost about 1/3 of the CL channels (all online ofc), so it's a bit less pressure on my wallet:lol:

Flight to Holland doesn't mean anything really. Its a very quick commute so makes sense to bring some star names. I don't think we'll be playing Zlatan or Pogba at any point unless we really need to.

Getting to Rotterdam will be quicker than getting to most of the PL grounds.
Zlatan and Pagba both used as subs if really needed.

Yeah. I wonder whether we will actually give Pogba some minutes given his lack of pre-season, but its so close to Sunday.

The most important thing is to avoid injuries, particularly to regular starters. I expect a tough game vs Watford.

After Mourinhos comments, I'm quite certain that we'll play Rashford up top today.

Hopefully we'll see Depay, Darmian and TFM as well, as I want them all to have a great season for us.

    Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Really looking forward to this game, feels more like a CL game than it did playing Brugge and Midtjylland last season.

Indeed the whole group feels more like a CL group!

We need a good performance, not just a win, and it'll be interesting to see us without Rooney.

Pogba should start in a 433

I thought he'd play Lingard & Mikhitaryan (near at all?) but Jose knows best I suppose, unless he's fallen out with them & the full catastrophic meltdown is beginning, :(.

    #JustSaying

Harmless dull draw, no injuries, nice win vs Watford is best.

This is an opportunity for some players who haven't yet featured this season. But just hope we don't take it too lightly as we need a positive result in the first game.

Gone for this, but who knows...

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Rojo
    Herrera
    Fellaini Pogba
    Depay Rashford Martial
Fosu-Mensah, Mata and either Zlatan (if we're losing/drawing) or Carrick (if we're winning) to come on.

Can I make a suggestion that the OP for match day threads include UK channels broadcasting the game?

He has a great chance to place us in same position where Chelsea and Liverpool are but doubt that he will do it.Dont understand why bringing players for PL game on away trips in EL...all his talk about him can not waiting next month so he can give chances to others and yet somehow it looks that some will play EL too.

Best part, saw on SS him complaining how EL is hurting our chances for PL...you couldnt make it up

Just because they flew 1 hour on a plane to keep the squad together doesn't mean they are going to play. We could quite happily play 10 different players to the ones that start on Sunday. We shall see.

I am in all honesty excited to see Memphis. This mostly only ends up with a heartbreak but whatever.

I heard that the stadium will be half empty by UEFA decree because of the poor behavior of the fans. Will lack atmosphere I guess.

Not liking Jose's quotes tbh. We should be taking it seriously, even if we use a shadow squad for it, because I genuinely feel we have enough quality, even in that squad, to be front runners in the competition.

I've said before that our European record is in no way good enough for us to be snobbish about which competitions we want to win.

God I'd forgotten about Kuyt, does he play up top for you guys or is he a fullback like he was at Liverpool?

 Which quotes? From what I read, he made it quite clear he was taking it seriously.

Do we have any resident Feyenoord fans who could shed any insight on your team? Looks like a very impressive start to the season. Know Kuyt, Vilhena and Elia; that's about it unfortunately. Vilhena is meant to be a good talent, is he expected to play? How has he been progressing?

If I'm not mistaken, it is the Feyenoord board's own decision to open only half the stadium for their EL games, to reduce chances of crowd trouble.
Really a shame, but understandable I guess considering Feyenoord's record in Europe. Big supporter trouble would probably mean being suspended from Europe again.

Anyway, should be an easy win for United. Feyenoord are not great at all and now won't even have their famous atmosphere to help them through.
Hope they get something though considering the poor state of Dutch football.

Don't know what quotes you've seen? He says " we don't want to be in this competition (clearly they want CL) but now we are here we will respect it.

Hardly not taking it seriously is he.

Where he said he (Utd) don't want to be in the competition but has to accept that is where we are right now, and that our presence in the Europa harms our league chances.

Rather than saying we are in this competition and that it presents us with an opportunity to have a clean sweep of European trophies, he instead just gave the impression that he's making do. The former would have given the right message to the players and wider fanbase, The latter just makes it seem we won't actively look to win it, when the size (and quality) of the squad we have makes it much easier for us to do well in both competitions compared to previous entrants from England. It just doesn't make sense for him to say what he has IMO.

Not a Feyenoord fan, but see a lot of them.
Yes, had a good start in the league, but not played any good teams yet. Good team for the Eredivisie but should be no match for United, certainly not if you play at least about half your first team. Next weekend we'll see what their start is worth when they play PSV away. Their right back Karsdorp is one of their most impressive players from what I've seen. and I feel this will be a good match for Vilhena. Would be surprised if Kuijt is any bother to you really :D Elia out injured.

They also have Watford failure Berghuis, who I think is actually a pretty good player.

Well, he is just being honest, we would all prefer to be in the CL.

He was still making it clear that he will play a strong team and that would be a message to the team not to take the EL for granted.

But you could be right and it would have a negative effect on the team, i'm not sure.
Mourinho knows how to motivate his players though, we can't deny that. :)
