Going for (L to R) Young-Rashford on the wings instead of Martial-Lingard. Cahill on LCB looks more vulnerable than Azpilicueta on the other side, so attack with Rashford on the right.

Please God no! Martial is far superior and Rashford is more exciting. Not seen much of Myktarin but I'd honestly rather have Young than Lingard.
That's daft. He's in the best form out of our wingers.

I think he's an average player. I support him when he's in the team and I like him as a lad but we have far better players than him. Keeping Martial or Mata on the bench and playing Lingard is what constitutes daft in my opinion.

Surprised that the majority of the Cafe thinks we can beat Chelsea according to the poll. We haven't beat them in the last 10 games, 4 years ago. And the last time we beat them at Stamford Bridge goes way back to 2002!
    We beat them in 2012

Meritocracy IMO, he's earning a spot at the minute and that's healthy squad competition. I don't agree with dropping a player for a better name. Martial and Mata are better on the left and centre anyway.

Is the team i want to see. We'll probably see Fellaini in for Carrick and Ibra up front with Martial on the left though. I think Blind and Young deserve to keep their places, and they're good tactically in a tough away game so who knows. Would be nice to see Mkhi get on at some point.

    Courtois
    Azpilicuta Luiz Terry
    Moses Kante Matic Alonso
    Willian Costa Hazard.

Maybe Cahill instead of Terry and Pedro instead of Willian (fitness dependant).
    Fingers crossed!

What with all the Young line ups. Martial is fit again and already building up momentum and form. 2 goals in his last 2 appearances.

As much as we need good defending we'll need even more threat going forward especially players good in one on one situations given the kind if game we're heading into and how Mou is expected to approach it.

I'm sure people are predicting Young will start, not that they want him over Martial.

The moon gave me flowers for funerals to come.
Didn't see the interview, but from the team that played Liverpool:

De Gea - played but he's a goalie
    Valencia - rested in midweek
Bailly - played midweek, but Mourinho is all about a steady partnership at CB
Smalling - only played 45' midweek
    Blind - rested in midweek
    Herrera - rested in midweek
    Fellaini - rested in midweek
    Rashford - rested in midweek
Pogba - record signing, subbed in midweek
    Young - rested in midweek
    Ibrahimovic - rested in miweek

Most of them were rested in midweek so will be fine for this.
    Cant argue with that :D

Both Fellaini and Young to start? I want to cry.
I know Fellaini has done well in his own tall way but he's just not the way forward.

Was Lingard injured on thursday? As he was subbed, it might be a case of him starting today.

Would love to go back to the Valencia/Bailly/Blind/Shaw backline. We've never looked as solid since after all the changes. Should be a good game or possibly another 0-0 bore draw but I think we're just going to edge it. All depends on who Mourinho selects and his approach to this game. Sooner or later we are going to need to show some statement of intent. I hope this is the game we do it.

Young offers a lot of protection for Blind, but we really need him to offer more when attacking. I'm not sure he has that in him in games like this, but hopefully Ibra, Rashford and Pogba give us more going forward this time. Think they will get a bit more space against Chelsea

The majority predict we'll win every away game despite us only winning 15 of the last 42 away in the PL.
That stats all point to a draw or a loss.
So, that is what I predict.
I will go for a 1-1 draw. I don't think either manager wants to take a risk during this game.

We really need to win this. A draw would be pretty bad, due to our recent league form.

Hopefully we aren't too negative today. Isn't a must win but it's getting pretty close to that. Get at them and we'll have a good chance of getting all 3.

Well, that's part of being a fan. However last week the majority were expecting a loss to us. I saw some pretty bleak predictions even.

It depends, Jose might realize he's at Manchester United now and can opt to be more progressive as we'll value that over cold results.

    I'd go for

    ---------DDG

    Valencia-Bailly-Smalling-Blind

    -----Pogba--Fellaini--Herrera

    --Mata------Ibra------Martial

There's a headline on Skysports how much of a blow it is for United that Rooney is missing the game. :D

He is playing better than Martial/Rashford/Micky so he deserves to start ahead of them, it is that simple.

I think we really need a win tonight.

A win means ~3 pts off third having played City/liverpool/Chelsea in quick succession, would be fine with me.

A Draw opens a new gap between top 3 and the rest. Basically opens a three game deficit to make up for 3rd.

A loss would just reset everything; more than three games back and deplete any renewed confidence coming out of the fenerbahce game.

We need to play better than we did vs Liverpool, we must go for the 3 pts a draw will be as the defeat I reckon.

Watching this with a Buddy being a Chelsea supporter. Let`s see who of us will cry at the end (maybe both as a draw does not really help any of us).

You're entitled to your opinion but Rashford for me isn't a winger. Martial should start on the left and Lingard on the right. Please explain to me how you would start Young over Lingard?

I love seeing Martial in the team in spite of his second season struggles and there is a lot I dislike about Young. That said, Young has had a lot of his best games in a United shirt against big teams and has rarely been a weak spot in those games. You gotta give him that.

We need a win today, a draw is not enough if we want to challenge for the title.

Each time I've seen them he's at RB in a 4 or I assumed a RCB in a 3. Alonso just seemed a common sub. I don't really follow them too closely, mind...
You're probably right. I've only watched Chelsea once and that was against Leicester and so assumed that he was now a starter.

Definitely want Lingard. He's confident at the moment, which is more than can be said for a few of our attackers.

Young could be effective off the bench. He always injects some energy which could be useful later on.

Wouldn't mind Martial or Rashford starting. Both could be decent today. Maybe Rashford as sub for impact.
