Nervous stuff from United, but Liverpool have hardly been great. We've caused all our own problems, but we can certainly this around if we get our heads in order.

There has to be intent for handball. Pogba's intent was to head it. Never deliberate.

But he has been poor. I've said again and again he needs to improve his finishing. But in this game he seems over psyched up. Needs to clam down to think clearly and make better decisions. Very lucky ref didn't see him wrestle Henderson down.

Pogba can never be a great player if he gets so nervous just because it's a big opponent. He missed a glorious chance, then he gave away a penalty, gave the possession several times. He was similarly nervous against LFC at Anfield, against Chelsea etc. I can't believe a player with such talent can be such a bag of nerves.

We really needed to win to save our season today. Pogba cost us our season. We paid world record fee to buy a bag of nerves.

Ibra off please. Starting him was suicide against such a pressing team and even more now they are gonna defensive. mou got this horribly wrong. right now we need chance reation not a slow target man

    Mata or Rashford for Ibra

After sweeping aisde trash for the last few weeks. The first decent team we face are comfortably palming us off, even without 4 or 5 of their starters.

That should open some people's eyes to our actual level.
This kind of hyperbolic nonsense is completely unnecessary. We were crap during that first half, that is all. It doesn't change what's gone on before in the 10 games that preceded today. And doesn't speak to our actual level.

Pogba and Valencia have been the worst players in the pitch. They have lost the ball on multiple occasions and made some horrific passes too.
Herrera has been the stand out player in the pitch so far. It's a no surprise to see him stepping it up for the big matches.

Zlatan must get more help. He's done fine when having the ball so it looks like it could be his day but he's not getting anything to work on?!

No idea why you're all moaning. You've got in behind us a few times and you'll create more chances. It could go either way.

Herrera and Carrick are plying well
Carrick has been embarrassing, pressed out the game.
Probably a bit harsh on Herrera because me made a couple of half chances, but he's been as sloppy as the other two bar that.

Will be interesting to see what changes we can make. This will be a real test for Mourinho to pull us out of it.

We have just wasted chance after chance. So its definately not the tactics that are wrong. Just wish the players would up the intensity and match the dipper's pressing. Maybe this is where the age of the squad is starting to show.

Don't forget they'll have Coutinho in the second half, who always seems to tear us a new one. :nervous:

I am not sure what Mourinho can do here. Take Darmian out and add Mata or Rooney? The front 6 are needed, it's hard to take any of them out because on their days, they have the quality. And United did have 3 occasions at least. So it's not like the game is not awarding opportunities. The finishing needs to be better.

Pogba trying to do a bit too much. It's obvious how much much Klopp fears Martial, they are swarming him whenever he touches the ball. Valencia is fecking shit - his ponderous standing around gazing when gets the ball and, then, voila, dodgy pass to the back! We still look the better team. Pogba needs to calm down a bit. And Mkitaryan could stand to be a bit more involved.

There's no chance of us getting back into this game. It's literally impossible and simply cannot happen. Impossible.
I think Utd will still win it 2-1. Our defence doesn't do clean sheets. But I'm really impressed with our performance after the bad patch we had hit. Without Matip, Clyne, Coutinho and Mane to boot.

He's putting the pressure on himself by taking loads of touches. If he went for the give and go more he'd find more space. It's like he feels the need to beat someone every time he touches the ball. Why not just pass through the lines?
Because he isn't very good at the top top level.

Still think Martial has one in him here, but expect he comes off first. Can't see Rooney doing anything against their pressing. And Mata will look weak against it but also would take a chance if it falls to him.

Carrick and Pogba really need to take hold of this second half straight away. Mourinho didn't have them prepared for the press and the chaos Klopp's brought.

Zlatan needs to come deeper and get more involved. I can only assume he's been instructed not to because this is the furthest forward I've seen him stay in a long time. Either that or he isn't fully fit.

Pogba's brainfart hasn't done us any favors, but even if he hadn't conceded the penalty, we'd have still needed to make some tactical changes at HT.

We're losing the midfield battle. Our pressing in their half is very ineffective, whereas theirs is the exact opposite. They're neutralizing Carrick very efficiently so far and we cannot play our normal game because of it.

Martial and Mkhitaryan are way too isolated on the wings and that's because of our poor midfield display as well.

Nothing is lost yet, but we need some changes if we want to avoid the defeat.

Pogba and Miki had good chances, Zlatans pressure almost lead to a goal, Zlatan FK was a good save by Mingy

They created feck all expect some corners and got a very lucky pen from a stupid handball
fair enough we've had some chances but i also think we are lucky to be only a goal down because Origi is still a donkey
