Glad we got rid of him, a bit of a waste of space IMO.

Oh I'm absolutely delighted someone made a thread so that the same posters can moan about us letting him go now he's got a few goals again.

It's painful. It's going to go on until he retires. His thread will get bumped every time he scores a goal.

We had 4 years of the Pogba thread getting bumped every other week. Thankfully he signed for us and spared us the continuation of that.

Welbeck's the only Arsenal player i've ever wanted to see do well. Top lad and he'll always be a United man in my eyes. He's still hugely connected to the club away from the pitch also. Doubt he would have taken much convincing to stay but from what I gather no one bothered. Shame as I don't think he'l ever be back now. Not as as a player anyway.

Love the guy. Might not be as talented as some, but his desire is excellent. Certain players could learn a few lessons from him.

Agree. Don't really get the meltdown every time he returns from a year long injury and scores a few goals before disappearing again. As if we sold the next Messi or something.

Old ground but I think most have realised by now that LVGs decisons on signings were terrible. For me his decisions on sales were even worse.

Would have loved to have him in the squad these past few years, injury-free of course. Very useful forward, but injuries and a lack of composure and balance will stop him from ever being a necessary one.

I like him and I like to see him do well. Dumping him to sign Falcao on loan on ridiculous wages still irks me to this day. Shame that he plays for a club with such an annoying fan base though.

As for having him back? I'm not sure. He left because he wanted to play as a striker and there's no way he'll get games there for us right now. He has his uses as a general forward player but we have enough young talented forwards not getting enough game time, why add more?

The day we got rid of him for Falcao is one of the worst decisions in our history.
only in hindsight. falcao was always a no brainer signing and a risk worth taking. Falcao scored 4 goals for us in the league and welbeck scored 4 goals in the league for them that season

Better than Lingard to be honest.
Not with his injury record he isn't Since his move he has done nothing he didn't do with us except get injured more .A few flashy goals, then nothing for ages and repeat

He's got the composure of a fawn and is injured for 1/2-3/4 of a season, Thankyou for the 16 million Arsene.
Remember when he signed for them and they said he'd be the next Henry:lol:

What's with the egyptian relief celebration?
Nice return, although he was quite lucky with both finishes

Are there people who would rather have him over Rashford?
As a wide-forward, yes. He'd be ahead in the pecking order (at striker) too with both at the club, though if push came to shove I'd keep Rashford over Welbeck atm.

First it was Wilson(and look how that turned out to be) and now it's Rashford, while everyone ignores the fact that it was Falcao.

His record is 1 in 4 for both United and Arsenal, please don't start spouting nonsense that we should not have sold him after 2 goals against a second string Southampton team. He's 26 now and we now have guys like Rasford and Martial, who I think both have higher ceilings (especially Martial).

I wonder if he had stayed then was there a possibility that Jose could have shaped into a better striker? Like he has done with Herrera, Jones and Rojo for example.
