We beat Spurs and were the more convincing side, Arsenal salvaged a draw in the dying minutes of the game due to Rashford's inexperience, their first shot on target all game, we beat City, we got dismantled by a Chelsea team who's tactics were still fresh and new, we drew twice against Liverpool, who have smacked just about every other top team.

His points were proven wrong which is why he then backtracked with rubbish. Claiming the Spurs win doesn't count because we always beat Spurs at Old Trafford, they're still a top team though, but that doesn't suit his agenda. Claimed we weren't even good against Arsenal, not even worth discussing that tbh. Claimed the match against City didn't matter because it was a Mickey Mouse cup and they played a young squad (Taking into consideration if we lost that game, he'd be complaining about that, you can be sure of that). Not to add, their squad's average age was older than ours in that game iirc (also doesn't suit his agenda, why he backtracked and said that age was irrelevant, despite him being the one to bring it up in the first place).

Only game we played crap against a top team was Chelsea and that was a Chelsea who's tactics were a spanner in the works and still fresh.

All these reasons above is why I didn't bother replying. Forum or not, I'm not going to waste my time trying to discuss Jose Mourinho with a poster who has blatantly come out and said he dislikes him, it will result in nothing. He specifically said we hadn't won a single game against a good team, but when he was provided with several examples he spouted rubbish about how the games were irrelevant or how we should be winning those games, instead of admitting he was wrong, hardly worth replying to imo.

Not a personal attack on him btw, he can have his own opinions, I just won't entertain discussing them with him
And again, I ask you. What's the good thing by beating Spurs at Old Trafford? The real task is to beat them at White Hart Lane. To beat at Spurs at Old Trafford is for me nothing special. I acknowledge that Spurs is a good team, but it's quite funny that you neglect my facts, that Spurs since 1999 have played 23 times at Old Trafford and got beaten 18 times, and since 2010 only has scored in those two matches, they've won since 1999. Is that a good performance? No, that's the standard, that should be required, if you want to see Manchester United at the highest level. I'm not downplaying my expectations because some sad years. MAnchester United is and shall be a top 3 club along with Barca and Real, and if we start to lower our standards and see things like beating a sup-top-team like Spurs at our own home, then I'm really getting worried.

We've only won against Spurs in the PL. We got our ass kicked against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in PL, and the first half against City at Old Trafford is one of the most devasting loses, I've ever seen, because of that first half, City mainly tore us apart like never before and looked like, we were at least two level behind their standards.

And once again, I ask you, what has the average age of the squad to do with it? I still doesn't change the fact that we played with our A-team, and City still had some young players at their starting lineup and the squad players. Just read what I'm writing ffs. We played with our A-team from the start, they played with a mix of squad players, some starters and two young talents, who barely has got hair on the chest. We HAD to win that game, otherwise I would have been a huge failure, if we even couldn't beat City with that starting lineup.

And against Liverpool at Old Trafford, they were missing their threee important players in Matip, Coutinho and Mané and yet, we were bad against them. Do you honestly find that as a encouraging signs? Please enlighten me, instead of calling me dumb or braindead or whatever you think I am.

Apparently according to you, if you just shoot outside from 40 yards 15 times and no chances in the box, and the opponent has hit the target inside from the box 7 times, where as four of them were dangerous, you were the better team, because you shot 15 times. I'm sorry, but that's not the way I see football.

We are still a bang average team, that's struggle against teams, that are good ball playing teams, and we still can't cope with pressure or the expectations that is required to become a top team, and that's what irritates me the most, that even when we have some quality players, the structure is still horrible and we are playing bad. I'm not giving anything for that we won against Soton at the EFL Cup. That tournament doesn't mean a shite to me, and we are nowhere the best team on the field that day, and the referee managed to disallowed a goal that should have been there for Soton.

But hey, I'm just a WUM because I'm not pleased of the signs that we've shown this season. If I'm a WUM because I don't get happy over we win against Reading, Wigan, Hull and other lower team, but still can't manage to play a really good game against a better team, then I'm okay, because I have a lot more higher expectations, when you have players like Zlatan, Mata, Mkhitarayan, de Gea, Pogba, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Martial in your squad and a manager like Mourinho, but yet we struggle too much.

Is Jose's dominance over? In terms of the super/big coaches, Mourinho is currently in last place

Conte
Pochettino
Guardiola
Klopp
Wenger
Mourinho

And as much I also expect him to improve next season, so will the others. Conte woudl definitely have you higher up in the league if he was your coach
Even though I've never been a huge Mourinho-fan, but put him under Wenger? Klopp? Pochettino??? Come on, man.

Pocchettino is a very promising manager, no doubt, but he has managed to struggle at Euro League and Champions League. His side just lost to Gent man. A belgian team. That's a huge failure.

Wenger? The man who never learns from his mistake and continues to do the same mistake year after year and struggling to make a impact? Nah man.

And Klopp? I like Klopp, I really do. I see him along Pep as the best coach in the world in terms of creating a team, that can be offensive and create chances. Klopp is a gung-ho manager. Just full forward and don't look back, but that's doesn't always win you the title or trophies. Klopp has some very huge lack of defending understanding whereas Pep is a much more complete manager than Klopp, even though some of Pep's plan with City has backfire hugely with the transfer of Bravo and the appointment of Stones as the leading cornerstone in the defence.

Mourinho is a good manager. His track record is good for the short term and if you want instant success.

Ughh these post's are so illogical you're stupidness is disturbing to read, where's Ranieri ? He won the title last year, Mourinho the year before that but we will pretend that didn't happen, year before that, Pellegrini ? I don't understand where you are plucking these name's from,

Conte is about to win the title in his first season which is a great achievment but let's see what he does next season and in Europe before he's a "Super Coach", he is definitley up there in Top 10-15 coaches in the world but calm down and let's not get ahead of ourselves, Pochettino ? Sorry has he won a trophy yet with spurs ? Great coach, doing admirable thing's with Spurs but they are still a work in progress,

Guardiola, yes definitely, proven great coach, one of the best, Klopp ? He has the potential, his Dortmund team had a fantastic few seasons winning the domestic title once or twice and a Champions league final but his Liverpool team have hardly lit the league up have they, beaten a few big teams but flopped massively as well, especially this year, Wenger ? Granted Big coach but has been uninspiring for years now

And Mourinho, one of the most successful managers of the decade along with Guardiola, winning countless trophy's all across Europe, winning the title with Chelsea in 2015 and then taken over a damaged (mentally) Man Utd squad and yes it's not been great so far but to judge him over 6 months is madness, granted it will come across I am viewing this with my red tinted spectacles but the stat's dont lie, Mourinho is one of the best, lets just see what he does in the next year or two, especially with a club that gives him that time

Take a chill pill mate. He's just stating his opinion on what he currently perceives and with good reason too.

None of your post is relevant. If we were to play with youth players in the game against City and lost you'd be here beating Mourinho with that stick, a win is a win, we played well that game and won, your statement about not playing good in a single half against a top 8 team was proven wrong. We played well against Spurs, against Arsenal, we beat West Brom, all teams in the top 8.

The way you see football isn't a factor because if your posts are anything to go by the way you see football is baffling. Some of the remarks you're making are comical to say the least and instead of accepting the fact that you're spouting bollocks you're backtracking and contradicting yourself. I didn't say anything about the age of the City squad, you did, I just simply explained the fact to you that you were wrong and our squad was even younger. You can only beat what's in front of you and we've beaten a lot more than you seem to give us credit for.

As has been mentioned, we actually haven't been struggling half as much as you seem to think, our problem is our composure and finishing. Bar a small handful of games we've dominated every game we've played this season with diabolical finishing letting us down, but according to you that's Jose's fault, when he's hardly had a full season with the squad yet.

We were shite in the first half against City, better team in the second half. We were shite against Chelsea, but their tactics were new and threw a spanner in the works, compare that performance to the one in the FA cup. We were more than matching Chelsea before we got Herrera sent off, despite the fact that we had some of our best players missing and have played about 3 times as many games as Chelsea has this season.

Get a grip mate and stop spouting the same bollocks to try and justify the prior bollocks you've spouted. We have beaten a team in the top 8, several actually, we have had a single good half against a team in the top 8, the situation with the teams we've played isn't an factor as you can only beat what's in front of you. Jose didn't ask Pep to play with some of his second team, he made that decision. You say that the game would have been a huge failure if we lost, but then you go on to state that the game was irrelevant and a Mickey Mouse cup? Double standards there pal. So you don't want to give Jose any credit for the win but were ready to spite him if we lost, comical.

Man United aren't in the top 3 clubs in the world anymore, whether or not you don't want to lower your standards won't change that fact. If you want to keep seeing us as some football powerhouse then expect to continue to be disappointed. We might still be a few years off getting back to the top but having one of the best managers of this generation at the helm, I expect us to get back there eventually, something you don't agree with due the bollocks you've spouted. You say you refuse to see us a team that isn't in the top 3 but then claim we are bang average? What is it pal? You're having a laugh if you think our squad can compare to Madrid's and Barca's.

We haven't even played defensively this season, if anything, most people are surprised at how attacking we've been. We haven't gone to every top team and played gung-ho but no team does that. Tactics are implemented on a game by game basis, victory and 3 points is more important than pride.

Beating Jose with a stick because he didn't play right into Liverpool's hands and actually tried to beat Klopp tactically, baffling decision by Jose there, trying to actually win a football match rather than make the same mistake every other top team has and get dismantled by them.

I would never be angry to lose in the Mickey Mouse-cup with youngsters and squad players. I don't give a feck for that shite tournament. The only thing I will use it for is to make sure that the squad players gain match fitness and young players get either their debut or they get a chance to show them self. It's beyond a joke that Mourinho several team almost used the starting lineup. And he did the actually same with Chelsea. Mourinho doesn't fancy either talents or giving squad players the opportunity to show them self. Why has Fosu-Mensah only played 2 times? Why is Schweinsteiger barely in the team? Why isn't Tuanzebe getting a match early in the season? Where was the opportunity to let Rashford play some games there as striker, so he could continue his development? Why didn't Ro-Shaun Williams not get a match or at least a place on the bench? Instead, you saw Zlatan as a striker, Pogba starting and I don't know what anymore. It's a joke we use that useless tournament to try to justify that we have won a trophy. I

You are the one who mention the average age. I didn't, and your logic is baffling that because the average age is lower, than we had younger players. Our young players are super talents like Pogba, Shaw, Martial, Bailly. City's starter were to players from the reserve team ffs, but hey, we had a lower average age. What a joke.

But I'm gonna stop it here. You barely read my post and only attacking my opinion instead of discussion it and label it as a comic and knee jerk.

The fact that you've completely swayed from your original argument and aren't even addressing anything I've said in regards to it proves this discussion is over. You went from talking about his performances against the top 8 to how he handles youth, something I never even spoke about. Also whether or not our players are "super talents" doesn't change the fact that our squad was younger than theirs and you were the one to mention it. I can even quote your post, if you'd like.

It's a joke that we are trying to win trophies? Christ, so you'd rather we didn't win the trophy? You hit Jose with a stick about not being ambitious enough but when he competes for every trophy we are in you say it's a joke.

It's obvious you're speaking out of your hatred for Jose rather than with any sense or logic, so you're right, this argument is over.

Aye, some on here would be complaining he didn't put his team out to get murdered and actually put them out to get through the tie, it's baffling.

I think he has put them in their league places 1-6

Says if he was in charge last year he'd of kept Hernandez, Welbeck and Di Maria

Carrick
Pogba - Di Maria
Welbeck - Zlatan - Mkhitaryan

Depressing to know as I believe Di Maria with the vision of Pogba and Zlatan to play off would have been great.

I agree Welbeck and Hernandez in particular were great players. Should of stayed.

Hernandez was an incredible super sub!

I don't know how useful Welbeck can be but numerous times this season I've thought to myself, we'd have won these games if we still had Chicharito. Killer super sub is extremely hard to come by.

Can we talk about tonight already? He seems to have set us up for a 0-0, which is extremely risky considering one Rostov goal puts us out.

He didn't put us out to play for a 0-0. We've had this problem all season. We fecking toothless in attack.

And a very good part of the problem was himself even though people don't like to admit it.

3 5 2 in game like this...

The 3 CBs have been staying very close to each other and pretty much contributing feck all to our attacking play. Usually side CBs would act like a DM who can pass or a runner from the deep. Ours just are sitting duck mostly.

It is like we are playing Barca away.

This game needs Rashford and the movement of Lingard. Lingard should've been on for Blind and Rashford for Mata.

Haven't criticised Jose this season really, but he's got it wrong tonight, even if we go on to win.

I'm just going to say it one more time.

Mourinho is a huge hyopcrite and a coward. Don't want to have a offensive minded LWB in Shaw, let Jones play LWB instead of changing the formation and let Rashford and Lingard or Young come in and try to create a chance.

But hey, it's not allow to criticize Mourinho. People would call you a WUM.

He has also been our manager all season, we should have worked on our attack but according to past players they don't work on their attack and more so on transitions than anything.

Today José has really annoyed me if I am honest. Usually I can understand shutting up shop but we should be scoring 3,4,5 against these lot yet I am seeing 4,5,6 players in our own half most of the time and instead of say, putting Lingard at left back for and subbing Rashford on we're bringing Phil Jones on. It is understandable but it's also very frustrating- José's job is to entertain these fans and the crowd is incredibly quiet today- which is completely understandable. I've not been this bored since last season watching a game.

I'm prepared to give him a free pass this season, but I'm not liking what I've seen tonight.
