And again, I ask you. What's the good thing by beating Spurs at Old Trafford? The real task is to beat them at White Hart Lane. To beat at Spurs at Old Trafford is for me nothing special. I acknowledge that Spurs is a good team, but it's quite funny that you neglect my facts, that Spurs since 1999 have played 23 times at Old Trafford and got beaten 18 times, and since 2010 only has scored in those two matches, they've won since 1999. Is that a good performance? No, that's the standard, that should be required, if you want to see Manchester United at the highest level. I'm not downplaying my expectations because some sad years. MAnchester United is and shall be a top 3 club along with Barca and Real, and if we start to lower our standards and see things like beating a sup-top-team like Spurs at our own home, then I'm really getting worried. We beat Spurs and were the more convincing side, Arsenal salvaged a draw in the dying minutes of the game due to Rashford's inexperience, their first shot on target all game, we beat City, we got dismantled by a Chelsea team who's tactics were still fresh and new, we drew twice against Liverpool, who have smacked just about every other top team.
His points were proven wrong which is why he then backtracked with rubbish. Claiming the Spurs win doesn't count because we always beat Spurs at Old Trafford, they're still a top team though, but that doesn't suit his agenda. Claimed we weren't even good against Arsenal, not even worth discussing that tbh. Claimed the match against City didn't matter because it was a Mickey Mouse cup and they played a young squad (Taking into consideration if we lost that game, he'd be complaining about that, you can be sure of that). Not to add, their squad's average age was older than ours in that game iirc (also doesn't suit his agenda, why he backtracked and said that age was irrelevant, despite him being the one to bring it up in the first place).
Only game we played crap against a top team was Chelsea and that was a Chelsea who's tactics were a spanner in the works and still fresh.
All these reasons above is why I didn't bother replying. Forum or not, I'm not going to waste my time trying to discuss Jose Mourinho with a poster who has blatantly come out and said he dislikes him, it will result in nothing. He specifically said we hadn't won a single game against a good team, but when he was provided with several examples he spouted rubbish about how the games were irrelevant or how we should be winning those games, instead of admitting he was wrong, hardly worth replying to imo.
Not a personal attack on him btw, he can have his own opinions, I just won't entertain discussing them with him
We've only won against Spurs in the PL. We got our ass kicked against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in PL, and the first half against City at Old Trafford is one of the most devasting loses, I've ever seen, because of that first half, City mainly tore us apart like never before and looked like, we were at least two level behind their standards.
And once again, I ask you, what has the average age of the squad to do with it? I still doesn't change the fact that we played with our A-team, and City still had some young players at their starting lineup and the squad players. Just read what I'm writing ffs. We played with our A-team from the start, they played with a mix of squad players, some starters and two young talents, who barely has got hair on the chest. We HAD to win that game, otherwise I would have been a huge failure, if we even couldn't beat City with that starting lineup.
And against Liverpool at Old Trafford, they were missing their threee important players in Matip, Coutinho and Mané and yet, we were bad against them. Do you honestly find that as a encouraging signs? Please enlighten me, instead of calling me dumb or braindead or whatever you think I am.
Apparently according to you, if you just shoot outside from 40 yards 15 times and no chances in the box, and the opponent has hit the target inside from the box 7 times, where as four of them were dangerous, you were the better team, because you shot 15 times. I'm sorry, but that's not the way I see football.
We are still a bang average team, that's struggle against teams, that are good ball playing teams, and we still can't cope with pressure or the expectations that is required to become a top team, and that's what irritates me the most, that even when we have some quality players, the structure is still horrible and we are playing bad. I'm not giving anything for that we won against Soton at the EFL Cup. That tournament doesn't mean a shite to me, and we are nowhere the best team on the field that day, and the referee managed to disallowed a goal that should have been there for Soton.
But hey, I'm just a WUM because I'm not pleased of the signs that we've shown this season. If I'm a WUM because I don't get happy over we win against Reading, Wigan, Hull and other lower team, but still can't manage to play a really good game against a better team, then I'm okay, because I have a lot more higher expectations, when you have players like Zlatan, Mata, Mkhitarayan, de Gea, Pogba, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Martial in your squad and a manager like Mourinho, but yet we struggle too much.
