Can't believe that this won't happen now even without UCL football next season, he's surely made his position at Madrid a little tenuous now

I'm just going off who acquire me said we'd sign
I'm almost certain Weigl's signed a new contract not long back, we have a lot of money but it isn't endless, it'd take a huge bid to bring him here and with Silva and Griezmann already looking like they'll take up a significant amount of money I can't imagine we'll be able to get Weigl as well.

What's this about Essiens calculator?
Essien in 2007 said:
"We are much better than Manchester United. The difference in points in the Premiership is just a coincidence.

It is just a matter of days before we are the leaders...I have done the calculations and we will finish at least five points clear of United at the top of the table."

don't forget weigl
I wish he didn't break his ankle, he's out for 3-4 months, so it's unlikely he'll move this summer now. Would have been interesting to see if anything would have developed though.

I'd rather we win very comfortably in normal time.
This. My heart can't take it anymore after the FA Cup Final into League Cup Final into that Celta Vigo game...

On topic - For a player to come outright to suggest he might leave the club rather than generic "who knows" is quite rare, and I don't think anyone would risk damaging their relationship with fans if it is not already a done deal. Imagine what happens if he ends up staying? Fans will question his loyalty and commitment to the club. Rooney danced around the idea of leaving with his transfer request and many fans now debates his "legend" status. This isn't on the same level obviously, but feel like this has to be a done deal already.

6 out of 10 ffs. He should be busting his ass to join United. Yet another foreigner who doesn't understand how big Manchester United fc really is. Anyway, Mourinho would probably find a way of getting the worst out of him.

Surely we're not getting him and Silva? I would lose my shit.

And we'd still need a striker.

It's still a negotiation. You don't tell your prospective employer while negotiating salary that you are desperate for them.

Darn, first time posting outside the newbie area and had wasted my 3 posts too quickly, like the newbie I am I guess.

I do like Griezmann (and Silva) but I never thought of either of them as "Mourinho players". Their physique is probably the reason, I just struggle to see Mourinho favour a smaller build striker when he's been deploying Drogba, Zlatan, Milito, Costa and Ronaldo throughout his career.

What a cnutish thing to do. Imagine if De Gea does it. What a cnut, don't want. Would rather have 2 wingers and Eric Dier for that money.

You might not get a lot of welcome responses with that post but I do agree its thoroughly unprofessional to flirt about your future when under contract at a club unless the club know you're leaving and have confirmed their replacement. In this case they will probably get Lacazette if the ban gets lifted.

Also, I'm not sure you can afford those 3 for the Griezmann money. Dier alone will be 40m GBP +.

It's most likely done. He wouldn't say those things if he wasn't completely confident. You can tell by his smirks in the video. He's been distancing himself from the rumours and denying them all season, saying he will stay. He wouldn't instantly change his stance if he was still staying.
