I will be very, very surprised if he is not in Manchester to sign for United.

We need him, he's available, he is managed by Jorge Mendes, he's Portuguese, etc.

However, if we don't get him then, maybe Jose has decided to get James and Renato Sanchez. The rumours about those two have been very consistent indeed.

Watch a player.
Like the player.
See him as the missing piece.
Convince themselves we are going to get him.
Hear some some rumours linking him to us, get excited.
Wait for deal to be concluded.

Player goes to another club.

Come to the CAF bitch around, call the club every sort of names.

The manager probably didn't even want the player, He's not the missing piece in his team.

Deal with it, we won't sign every player you want

If Silva is not on Jose's list, why do we care?

Jose's list for last season

1. Pogba
2. Mhki
3. Bailly
4. Zlatan

When was the last time we had a window where every single signing was a resounding success??
Not this season

The good thing about City signing Silva is that we'll have to go out and make a similar statement of intent. When is Greizmann Manchester bound?
Soon, be patient, it's happening.;)

They can have Silva for that kind of price. I'd be seriously pissed if we spunked 70m on him. He's good but not at that price, and I'm not sure how they can accommodate him, David Silva and KDB in the same team.

Signing Griezmann is a much, much bigger statement of intent than signing Silva.

Daily Mail now saying that the price is 60m(pounds) plus. Not sure I believe that goal.com reporter than 50m Euros was the price.
That Goal reporter has City balls deep in his throat.

I think Jose showed his hand in those two interviews

Very non-committal on the silva comments. Basically saying "i don't think so"

Yet with griezmann, he says "i won't speak about other club players". The same thing he said about the pogba saga.

IF the rumours are true that Jose gave woodward the list of players awhile back, I think we can assume Silva was never a target and Canal+ fecked up with their source. I'd imagine city was the destination all along.
Good observation.

Wow I'm going to be so fecking upset when we overpay for James while City get Silva. The people saying we didn't need him are going to eat their words hard when he takes the piss for City :(

I honestly wouldn't mind James as an option with Renato Sanchez being rumoured.

James scores more, his passing range is equally as good and his set pieces are better. Silva only trumps him in dribbles and close ball control.

Sanchez will be a really, really good prospect.

Mendy is on his way to city too. Looks like they have this well planned.

I really think we'd only go for James if Griezmann didn't work out.

It's a bummer but Silva wasn't a priority, as many have pointed out he suits City more. City are going to bring in good players this summer, we just have to get used to it, but so will United. We could do with a proper pacy wideman to be honest, wouldn't mind Willian from Chelsea myself but doubt they'll sell.

City are just going to try and overwhelm people in attack next season, force them to counter and try to smother that too with high pressing. It will work in the PL, especially against lesser sides, but it's risky against the top European sides in the CL imo.

Isnt a Mourinho/Conte player, simple as. Also not sure he's a player who'll add what City lack. But it looks like Pep is going to throw money at as many players as possible to succeed, which exposes him s anything but the 'holistic' advocate of youth development and proper footballing principles he's dined out on for the past decade.

Perisic would be better suited to what Mourinho wants, as would/will Bale and Griezmann. Mata and Mkhi are adequate as the 'creative' options in the squad, this summer is about adding penetration and destruction in the final third.

It would be a shame to see him go to City as he looks like a really tidy player.

His close control reminds me of Suarez and a younger Messi.

I trust Jose on this one, I'm sure he will find the players we need in this window.

I like Bernardo a lot but not having him isn't the end of the world, it's not even the beginning of a problem. If we sign Griezmann, a more traditional wide man will do the trick but I have no idea about who fits the bill.
We both know who fits the bill, and he has incredible creativity in addition to being a brilliant wide-man

Shame that the player in question is going absolutely nowhere this summer, though.

Being knocked out by Monaco must have really done something to Pep

Can't believe Monaco will allow their side to be decimated in such a way. Everyone of their players has been linked here and there. The reality is probably 2/3. They've got Tiellemans to replace Silva and I think ultimately that's a better player they've got right there

Having Mkhi, we didn't need another player similar to him.

Out of Monaco, Mendy and Fabinho are the players we need. Those players linked to them is bit of a concern for me.

On a positive note, Pogba's deal suddenly is going to look like a bargain. On a negative note, this will likely inflate an already inflated market.

I have never been convinced by him. He reeks of a Mahrez last season type of player.

Absolutely no chance, the season has ended and silly season has begone. I need minute by minute updates on his movements at all times. If I could hack his 'Find my iPhone' app, I would. And now City are signing Silva which is making me irrationally think we're falling behind in an arms race.

I need to see a new +£50m signing at the Lowery trying to hide behind a bed sheet soon otherwise I'm going to fall into muppet depression. :(

IMO, Mbappé is a striker and shouldn't be pushed wide.

I may be alone in this but I'm not that sold on him yet. From the little I've seen, he seems like an obviously good technical player who, like Mata and Mkhi, get dispossessed too easily when pressed due to being too weak and I don't want another one of them. If I'm wrong and he turns out like a D.Silva/Nasri who, along with their great technical abilites, can shield the ball well when pressed, then I'll be gutted.

He's not good enough to lace their boots mate. Just because he destroyed a shit City side doesn't make him the second coming. He was completely nullified by Juve

Hmnnn.

Well, with the benefit of hind sight, City did play them twice this year. It was easy for them to be convinced of their quality and to quickly initiate talks. Nevertheless, those will be two outstanding purchases for City.

Guardiola/Bernardo combination to be very fruitful, I'm afraid. Match made in heaven.
