Do you remember when we didn't like him?

I always liked him.

Who says the good guys never win?

He leads by example which is what a top team needs. Always fit and never shirks, powerful dribbler and defensively a beast. He's been excellent for well over a year.

I wanted him gone so often in the last couple of years. What he has managed to do in becoming one of our best players is unreal.

He even takes lifting a trophy as an opportunity to work out! Love him.

There was a period (think it might have been Fergies last season) where he was either afraid or reluctant to run with the ball. That one he did today (which resulted in a shot) was beautiful.
Hes a tank. Defensively covered well in some situations where it might have been bad.

Love how hes reinvented himself. Still wish he would work on his crossing but guess that will never happen

Happy for him :)

I've always had plenty of time for Valencia. From the time he decided to go without an agent because in his own words he was already at his dream club and there was no need for him to have an agent. to the time he was clenching his fist and making a gesture that he will be back even stronger while being stretchered out for his horrific injury against Rangers.
This guy is a warrior and an excellent servant to the club.
Probably my favourite player in the club now.

He was the only player to start in all of the following matches:

2016 FA Cup Final
2016 FA Community Shield
2017 EFL Cup Final
2017 Europa League Final

Has to be captain next year regardless of whether Rooney stays or not surely?

Brilliant yesterday too. There was a point when Ajax countered and he was on the left side covering as well and didn't let his man pass

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Tank "no one will pass by me" Tony V.

Lead by example today  perfect 9/10 performance.

That last man clearance at the end, and dominating Ajax's left winger.

He can keep the Capt' armband next season.

That's a great gif and move from Valencia but the nitpicker in me when I was watching then and even now was, "you did all the hard work but why shoot there, when you really should have squared it across goal?!".

One of the complaints of his, is that he slows the movement/momentum when he should have carried it forward. So in this case, he does it brilliant there, only to waste an impossible shot (yes I remember the one against Blackburn).

Anyways nvm. Deserved it.

Keeper does well, if he doesn't manage to parry it straight back towards where it came from then the rebound would have gone straight to one of our players. Ronaldo would have done the same.

I doubt he will be captain when he's not even speaking English when receiving awards for being the player's POTY.

I don't think shooting was the wrong choice but I did think if he'd have shot to the far corner, kind of a cross/shot it would have been a definite goal as we had players running in. All trivial now anyway, great performance, great season, top player.

Had a good game in the final. Nice to see him going past players. He does it so wel, but lacks the confidence at times.

Our songwriters need to get a chant for him going next season (as for most of our players actually).
