I can't believe this has grown to 29 pages already, this is the third or fourth time he is playing Madrid and using us for more money. There is as much chance of him leaving now as Ramos had 2 years ago. Absolutely nothing to see here. Let's get morata wrapped up and move on to others who actually want to play here.

Give peas a chance.
If he leaves but doesn't come back to us, and it fecks over our deal for Morata, I'll be pissed.

That'd be two dodgy Madrid clubs ruining our chances to strengthen our attack.

140 odd goals to be ours, Real's and Portugal's greatest ever goalscorer.

We've already got United and England's record goal scorer and that's not working out too well. What a contrast.

It's not that I don't want him, it's that I know this ends in him signing a new contract and saying he will retire there.

I always felt that Madrista's never warmed to him like we adored him. He knows that. We still love him for the joy he brought.

At the same time I can't see this happening. He genuinely would cost north of 200 million. Don't get me wrong it would be a dream to see him put on the shirt again and of course take that number 7 number. One can dream!

Great weekend everyone

See even Utd fans start talking like this. No wonder media keeps shouting "Utd rejected again" and such stuff when eventually he sees Perez's money and becomes a happy soul again.

I hear you. But here's my point, what if Ronaldo's impact is such that he can carry a team? He's arguably the best player in the world right now. His presence would elevate the team. Ronaldo on the pitch would draw attention from defenders and free up some of our other attackers to operate.

And I think you're selling short what we have now. We have Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford, Herrera, Bailly, De Gea. There's legit talent already on the team.
Our team has finished 7th, 4th,5th and 6th.

It is a stretch to think we can be European champions.

Especially considering the level of competition would face.

It's an interesting thought : would the current United with Ronaldo beat the current Real without Ronaldo?

No. Ronaldo is an immense footballer, along with Messi on a different level to anyone else. That being said, Madrid have the most balanced and talented squad in football. If they used that money to replace Ronaldo with a player who could get 20+ goals, they'd still win the CL imo.

If he leaves, Real get a lot of money (regardless of coming to Utd or not) and buy Mbappe. Morata will still be backup. If Morata is not moving out, it would be because he doesn't want to.
In short, no one is ruining anything at Utd. We should have our own backup plans rather than put all our eggs in one basket and praying Morata comes to us.

Bit of a dick move, if true. I'm sure he could yank the chain of other clubs.
Not as simple as that I reckon. The suggestion was that he was due to come back, then Fergie left.

That's close to the absolute worst case scenario, which is we spend all summer pursuing it, and then end up empty handed.

Impossible to know exactly the extent of our improvement if Ronaldo joined, but a couple of things would be certain.
Teams would have to take extra steps to counter him, leaving other players with more room, and you couldn't see him missing the massive stack of chances we missed last year

Leaving aside that this is more likely to be a ploy for a better contract with Real, we'd be real mugs to have sold a 24 year old Ballon D'or winner for 80m and then to have subsequently bought the same guy 8 years later for 100m.

I like the guy, but let's face it, he's more Madrid than United. All these talk of him "coming home", it's bollocks.

If there's any truth in this the club should distance themselves from it by declaring the have no interest. Since he would be using us to get a few more quid. That would put him in a spot.
We definitely won't do that, because it's pretty certain his agents have already been onto us sounding things out, and making it sound like he potentially would come here.
We certainly wouldn't ruin our chances prematurely

Ronaldo has been teeing us up for the past couple of weeks. Did he not recently...

Wear a new pair of Nike boots, which were dedicated to the time he spent with us?

A few weeks he was talking about how Real fans don't respect him like the United fans did.

And now this!

What is his end game?!

With all due respect mate that's nonsense.
At the time, 80m was almost 1/3 up on the world record, now 80m won't even buy a Lukaku. Inflation kicks in.

And you're buying one of the few players in world football history who has scored more goals than games played over 8 years in a top league. When we sold him he wasn't at that level of goal machinery.

What is his end game?!
1) Real to pay his tax bill and tell the authorities to lay off him
2) Real to give him a new improved contract - AGAIN
3) Perez to publicly kiss his ass and proclaim CR7 the GOAT

Think that covers it...

We will find out my friend.

We all know the massive probability lies against us, but just what if.

It'd be the most exciting signing in a decade, and turn what was looking to be a pretty dull window in an amazing one.

Let's keep calm though, "Irreversible" sounded like ridiculous hyperbole, and if it's suddenly reversed within a week it'll be a joke, but expected.

Previously on Real Madrid...

Stay tuned because after the break we discover what happens to Ronaldo, and who shot JR.

I think yes, we can beat Madrid if Ronaldo signs for us (although the deal is unlikely). We have a strong defense and the best goalkeeper in the World. With Ronaldo, we'd be lethal up front. 35 years old Ibra made us competitive, 32 years old Ronaldo will fire us to titles. This guy is a goal scoring machine, which is exactly what we lacked last season. I'd say Barcelona, Atletico, Bayern and Juve will be a bigger threat than Real Madrid minus Ronaldo. Champions League is difficult to predict but Premier League is ours if Ronaldo signs for us. Sadly, I can't see it happening.
