Not our problem anymore! Thank god, absolute legend and he's firmly in our history books but he's stunk up the place for several years now.
Good luck but thank god and good riddance.
About three years too late. Good luck to him, I guess. He'll forever remain the in history books and has been a fantastic player over the years. Onwards and upwards.
Yes!! At fecking last, it has happened. It feels almost as good as getting rid of Moyes and LVG.
I've wanted him gone for a while but now I'm feeling a little sad!
Seriously? The lad has been a legend for you and you are posting shit like this. Just thank him for what he has helped your club achieve, wish him luck and leave it at that. Don't go posting negative shit up about one of your best ever players.

Is that top a training top? Surely that isn't their new home shirt?

We already did, to the tune of £300,000 a week for the last few years while he made Antonio Valencia chase after his passes.

Sad to see him go, but wish him all the best at Everton.

Hopefully he rediscovers his form and makes England's World Cup squad next year as I'm sure that's his main motivation for moving back to Everton.

As a young United fan (and football too), the name Rooney has always been synonymous with Manchester United. It's a strange feeling knowing that he won't be a United player next season.Hopefully he rediscovers his form somewhat and has one or two good seasons before he retires. You will be fondly remembered for all that you have done for the club. Wish you all the best !

Who on earth are you to tell other people what to post?

If some posters are happy that Rooney is leaving the club then they're perfectly entitled to exercise their right to say so.

I've been his biggest critic these last few years, but damn this still hurts :(

Bets of Luck Wayne, thanks for everything.

England:
One of the most exciting footballers that I have ever seen.

I honestly believe that if he hadn't got injured during the tournament he would have won England the Euros in 2004. He was an absolute force of nature back then and was virtually unplayable when he would just bulldozer his way through a defence.

The last few years have been a disappointment but that takes nothing away from his legacy in my eyes.

A bonafide legend. All the best Wayne and just make sure you put lots of goals past the Dippers and City

United have handled this whole thing so well. It had the potential to be a long, drawn out and acrimonious split but it wasn't. Class.

Fantastic player over all, but it really was time to go a few seasons ago.

Never warmed to him after his contract antics, but he's easily one of the best players we've had.

Hopefully we're not paying his wages.

YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
What a player.. Enjoyed his goal for Everton against Arsenal but the legend gave a thousand more memories. All the best Wayne and the OT crowd will serenade him when he returns.

Not sure what people are on about Rooney being garbage for several years. He's only been garbage for the last couple years in my opinion. Before that he was decent enough but the club in general had awful management and a lack of ambition after Ferguson left. Hopefully he can get himself back into form and do a good job for Everton. Good luck to him

All the best for him. This transfer happened too fast it feels surreal, he was practically the face of United in the last decade.

Jeez... he is looking so old! He could easily be 41 in that video.
Duncan Ferguson looks younger than him  Anyways best of luck to him. He should have gone back sooner. It would have been better for him and United.

Agree with this. We haven't handled exits very well in recent years so this is a nice change in approach.

The Everton fans on their forum who are jumping up and down with excitement are in for a big shock. Don't think they realise just how crap he is now.

Wow, end of an era and it still hasn't hit me yet.

A young Rooney was one of the most exciting footballers I've ever seen.

Why not? Even the posts you've picked say he is a legend but he has indeed been bad for us for a while. Should we live up to the romantic standard of Rawk or something? Why can't we celebrate his career and be objective at the same time?

Good luck to him at Everton. Hopefully he'll find some form and turn it around a bit.

BTW, Everton Twitter is completely milking this. And this tweet
