What a strange, strange thread.

beat me to it. I would only add "and where can I get some"What type of stuff are you smoking owl ?
May be not this year. Eventually in next 5 years, PL clubs will again dominate CL. Real, Barca strong showing are result of big money invested in players and big contracts for keeping them over the years due to the huge TV money they got which others don't. PL clubs now gets huge TV money. Eventuality will happen, wait and see.Let's see how the 5 English teams get on this season in the CL. I'd be surprised if more than 1 make it as far as the semis.
Does the op have any metric to show that 5th place deserves a spot? Or is it just subjective "these are good teams missing out" stuff?
In lieu of same I think the title should be awarded to everyone in the top four. Seems unfair to me that only 1st place gets it.
Don't get me involved in this crap!
yupComplete and utter bollox IMO. Based on recent years' performances in the CL by English clubs, we're lucky to have 4 teams allowed in it.
Let's discuss it when it happens then? Currently there's feck all basis or need for any of this.Dudes concentrating on the performance of English teams over the past few years are missing the point.
It might be this year, it might be next but soon English teams will dominate the latter stages of the CL again.
History will tell you that money talks in the end and the PL is swimming in it.
We do not talk about this.there's been feck all to gloat over since Chelsea fluked the CL in 2012.
And given the transfer fees this Summer so are the major European leagues now as they are getting most of it.Dudes concentrating on the performance of English teams over the past few years are missing the point.

I really looks like he changed the dealer latelyWhat type of stuff are you smoking owl ?
It's not daft. I would welcome it, plus the return of Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup (1 club - 2 at most from each country).[/QU
Just go and check the teams Liverpool faced in their Cl campaigns in the past to see how daft the idea is. The likes of Bayern and PSG will win their league every season and will only face challenge from 2-3 teams every season. Their CL tally will skyrocket in next few years if only the champions qualified.
Not sure about that. PL clubs have been spending the money very poorly recently. Need to start building coherent teams to have a chance to dominate. The crazy market though I think may actually make it harder for big continental clubs to build good teams as well. I think it have resulted in some drop in quality among say Barcelona and Bayern. It have suited Real Madrid well who both have the money and a good squad structure.May be not this year. Eventually in next 5 years, PL clubs will again dominate CL. Regarding OP, First let them show that they are worth 4 spots by holding on to it.
Are you serious?? It's what's fecking killing the Premier League. Imagine prioritising a 5th place finish over cup competition and trophies. Feck that. I'd be happy if it was only 3 places, let alone 4, regardless of where United finished each season. The top 5 clubs in England should qualify for the CL.
I think it's unfair that two of Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool will miss out every year (bar the EL is won)
I don't think Spain or Germany deserve to have the same number of CL spots given their comparatively less number of powerful clubs.
If they are good enough to win, so what? Not that there won't be pretenders from other nations, like today. At least they'll win the competition I care about. And I suspect title challenges in domestic leagues across the Europe will be more fiercer and interesting. Most importantly, in England.Their CL tally will skyrocket in next few years if only the champions qualified.
ThisGet the feck outta here. The absolute fecking state of English teams in the CL in recent years.
So, the 2nd place team from Spain(Barca or Real) are pretenders compared to team finishing 1st in some obscure European league? If they are good enough to win, so what? No. What I meant, PSG and Bayern wont have it easy as you might've imagined, as there'll also be pretenders for the CL win in other clubs, like Barcelona, us or Milan for instance. So, the 2nd place team from Spain(Barca or Real) are pretenders compared to team finishing 1st in some obscure European league?
Out of interest, how did you come to these numbers?Spain should get 6
Germany 4
Italy 4
England 3
France 3
wtf is this ?The top 5 clubs in England should qualify for the CL.
