Ah okay, I saw a video of him doing some kicks and he looked like he had fully recovered. What a beast.
Nah, I mean that's impressive on its own right but not the same as football. ACL is different to a broken leg, for example. You regain muscle strength relatively fast and can do most ordinary motions (walking, jogging, jumping, sprinting) just after a couple of months but it takes time for the ligaments to strengthen properly and you can't really "feel" that. Very easy to get injured again if you don't take your time.

Excellent news, like a new signing who will be ready for the most busy part of the year. If he'll be all right with being Lukaku backup what a backup that would be. Imagine us having a bad game, Lukaku cant get a goal and Zlatan steps in.

Excellent news. Zlatan as a bench/ rotation option makes us very strong up front. And what a presence to have around the club should we make a title bid.

Ah that's good thanks for explaining it. We're in a great position to not have him rush back, though it would be great to have him available for the Christmas blitz of games.

This is great news. Looking at him kicking that punchbag the other day, I expect him to make a return before Christmas and I'm sure he'll play more than just a backup role. He's a great alternative to Lukaku, a brilliant bench option and can only be a good influence on Rashford and Martial. I fear for us without Matic (should the situation arise), but I can't see any areas where we are desperate for improvement now.

did I read it somewhere that when he retires, some leading doctors want to do exploratory stuff with his knee because they've never seen a recovery like this before? Or am I just making this up?
Yep, although it came from his agent so take it with a pinch of salt.

The guy who did his surgery is one the of top ACL specialist in the world so it's not outrageous.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Come on. The issue will arise only in 10-12 games in a 50ish game season where both will feel they should play (vs title contenders, semi + final of CL (if we make it), cup finals). For all other games, they can easily rotate based on opponent strengths. Despite popular belief, both are very very different strikers. Jose has now built a crazy squad.
"Come on" what?

It's tough on Lukaku that despite his good start he's going to have to sit on the bench when Jose's beloved Zlatan comes back.
Not going to happen.

Zlatan will play some games, 15 to 20 totally, of course not all as a starter and we will surely need him when having in mind the amount of games we will have to play - Whatever Cup (i.e. League Cup which name don't wanna try to remember again), FA Cup, PL and CL

Love Zlatan and it shows his total class - not gonna go somewhere just to be a starter and earn cash, wanna be oozing it till the end and benefiting at the greatest stage.

The issue for Zlatan last year (not that he had many issues, fabulous player) was that he played too many games.

I can't understand why he isn't more appreciated by United fans (or at least certain sections of our support).

This was always going to happen. It's great that it's happened and who knows? Playing in a young developing team may see him play on at the top for a few years yet. Rashford and co will learn a lot and they have the time between now and his return to work even harder. I don't think he'll slow us down at all. I just think playing deeper will suit him more. We'll probably do no more business so looking at the squad we need to keep up this momentum we've built and that will help us in Europe too over time. It's a pity we don't have Patrice in this squad but it will be interesting to see Zlatan in an improved team. Knock on wood

Yes, I think Mourinho might actually kill Lukaku once Zlatan is back. Like literally murder him. He hates under 25 players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear it. At a club like ours we need top class competition in all places. It doesn't get any better than Zlatan.

Good news as it's always important to have proper depth, but is he still on the same, exuberant, wages as last season? Wasn't he on something like over £350,000 a week, making him the highest paid Premier League player?

Can't believe we would offer him a new contract with same wages and can't believe we would pay twice what Pogba earns to a man who's coming off a dramatic injury and probably won't be in our starting eleven.

I'm just looking forward to him flattening someone in his first game back.
