We are rock solid at the back. Matic has really helped there as well as in attack (by his quality distribution and freeing up of Pogba). Basically Matic is just a dream signing. But Jones has been unreal and Bailly too.

We've conceded one clear-cut chance all season and that was at the end today where De Gea made a great save. De Gea has dealt with everything else brilliantly too, he is easily the best goalkeeper in the world.

If we can keep Jones fit all season we will not concede many goals at all. Even Blind is doing well defensively although in attack he has been pretty wank.

Couldn't see us signing him, as it'd in effect be the end of Mata, and all of Jose's signings are pacy, physically powerful players or both.
Mahrez is not pacy to you? Jose doesn't seem interested, indeed, but there can be other reasons for that.

I'm confident because the football is good and for some misses (Pogba's shots) and Schmeichel saving Mata's effort we could have scored more. Only negative thing to say is Lukaku's pen which should have been retaken

Really get tired of Valencia slowing the build up down every time he receives the ball. He just stands over it doing nothing. Not committing the defender, not making a pass, not making a move. His off the ball movement is still good, but for god's sake man, play with some tempo.

Our full-backs are abysmal really, it's time to admit it. If Shaw doesn't do jackshit this season, we need to invest in two new first-team full backs in January and/or summer.

Valencia may as well not venture beyond the halfway line given how poorly he contributes to actually creating chances. Blind is average. Darmian is average.

Abysmal was probably a stretch but for a club with our aspirations, we need to be aiming much higher than any of the full-backs currently in the squad.

Just saw JM press conference, it sounded like he had a dig at OT crowd at the end of presser.

We had to win that game after City managed to score 7 minutes into extra time with only 5 minutes on the board.
Kept thinking how much that would haunt us, if we lost the league by a point.

Don't know why people keep slating Mata, when he deserved a brace today.

Pogba was as wasteful as post SAF Rooney. Wouldn't mind it at as much as if he were a 20 goal a season striker.

I realize Jose is trying to keep the team happy and that we scored late, but the team felt less potent after the three subs.

Lukaku has converted only 50% of his last six penalties, all blocked in virtually the same location. Should let Martial or Mata take them, when the game is at stake.

Don't get all the complaints about the LB/RB problem when we have a 270 minute scoreless streak. Sure, they could be better but it almost seems ungrateful to complain. Jones and Bailly looked elite though.

To answer someone's question, Shaw was good at crossing before his injury, but so far he seems not to have recovered his former pace. Blind is decent on the ball, though he will be a liability against pacey wingers... but most of the time he should be fine because of his touch and offensive skills.

This match should've been 5 to 1. De Gea and Schmeichel each stopped one that normally would be goals.

His crosses are usually decent but he provides the width and speed that someone like Mata doesn't on the right, he helps to stretch the defence and create space for others in the box. Usually he drifts into open space on the right which can be picked out by the midfield. He'll pick up a couple of assists with his drilled crosses this season.

Today he wasn't great though, there was one cross which was Bebe-esque.

Very frustrating first half. Kind of reminiscent of last season and i thought the second half was going to be the same. Thankfully there seems to be a bit more about us this season.

Another great result, clean sheet and 2 goals. We looked great and full of confidence. Leicester did really test us today, in terms of their defence and made it very difficult which i'm glad of. We need to be tested like that.

Still think our crossing is pretty woeful though. The amount of space we had on the wings but the inability to cross a bloody ball was frustrating.

That's my problem. He's not even trying any of these sprints at all anymore! He just gets the ball, stands on it for a minute then pass it backwards. Has been like this the previous 3 matches. He's a shadow of himself last season so far.

Great win and thoroughly deserved, but I reckon this showed why we won't win the league.

We need to upgrade both FBs massively. Shaw or Mitchell may be the answer on the left but we need a different option on the right urgently. Valencia lacks the skill and precision against packed defences.

Our creative ballplayers are also miles behind City's - Mata and mkhi can't hold a candle to the two silvas or kdb. so when teams sit deep against us all we can do is cross or knock it long to lukaku. At times it was like the moyes Fulham game today. I'd definitely think about a bid for mahrez.

That said, lots of reasons to be positive. Great start.
Totally agree with your comments. Too many people getting carried away with 3 wins. Today wasn't looking all that likely and alot of the crossing was totally aimless. Reminded me of the home games last year.

We have got to be more incisive and have more intricate play around and inside the box. Valencia was awful today, he seemingly lacked belief in his own attacking abilities at times.

Still think we're a full back and possibly a winger away from being considered favourites for the league at this stage.

Another dominant performance. We look like a team again, with a bit of class. Early signs look fantastic!

That penalty miss was a classic game-changing situation, with them getting a renewed lease on life, and us feeling like we can't take a sitter. Glad to see that we're strong enough to keep grinding without getting stressed, and in the end winning comfortably.

Just found out it's international break. That's depressing and even more so when your national team is Norway.

We really really deserved that. Attacked then non stop, missed the pen but somehow I felt we will win. As it was said this kind of game we would draw last year. There's something different about the team, they look like they're more confident and playing with more fun. I'm still taking one game at a time but signs are good and we look really good overall.

Good result against a decent looking Leicester side but the performance left a lot to be desired for me.

- I wasn't aware that today's game was actually Manchester United vs Paul Pogba vs Leicester. He had what, 8, 9 hollywood shots on goal in the first half? Before presumably being told to grow up and start playing for the team at half time...and how many of these shots went into the goal or even forced a save? None! At one point he could also have played Blind in but instead he kept hold of the ball for an extra 2 seconds for literally NO other reason than to pose about like a complete prick, and THEN passed Blind the ball when it was too late. Showing off was genuinely more important to him today than his team winning the game of football. Even with someone like Gerrard, at least all the egotistical hollywood crap is with the intention of trying to in the game and take credit for it, rather than just aimed at the camera having time to show your shit haircut to everyone. When is he going to start growing up?

- Where did Blind go during that 10 minute spell where Leicester kept getting in down our left? Unless he was off the pitch getting treatment, it's time to stop playing him in any game where him vanishing into thin air for no reason might be an issue.

- Every time Lukaku got the ball he tried to do the right thing, and nearly every time it went wrong.

- Slightly concerning that we struggled to create a chance against a defence who left someone standing completely still on the penalty spot unmarked, from a corner...and then didnt stop the ball getting to him even though it arrived there at foot height. An organised team who are difficult to break down simply do not do this. Our issue was more that our attacking play was shite. It was 90% aimless balls into the box or in the general direction of Lukaku, and 10% Pogba thinking he was playing Fifa 18.

Still early days for me. I'll take that result. A lot of people saying it would have been a draw last season...but that performance and a missed penalty would have resulted in a draw a good percentage of the time today as well. Rashford was good when he came on...our defence despite being chaotic on occasion looks a lot more organised than the likes of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, etc. We do have a semi control on things which gives us a platform to win games even when we're not playing so well.

How many wasted crosses, pass and pass then lump it in to? Good result in the end but we need more creativity especially when plan A is not working.

Agreed.United seems out of idea as to how to get through a packed organized defense. Thus forcing them to desperate long shot.

I think Griezmann is a very good player to break down a tight defense. But still, we need player around him that can complement his pass and run movement.I know some of our players like Mkhi and Mata can do it but still, they are not used to do it regularly as a team.

So I think, maybe Mourinho needs to include mini game like 5 a side into their training routine to let the player accustomed to movement in tight space and built up the understanding between the player.

Agree especially about the pogba Part if he really wants to be an elite world class player he has to eradicate the things you mentioned. He shows his talent in flashes or bit parts of the game and then does many silly things.

Blind is pretty average player he cost us many games last season against chelsea and under LVG against west ham involved in conceding 2 goals which ended us in 5th position. I am sure there are other games where he cost us points can't even deliver a cross nowadays.

Leicester knew our game and how our players like to operate in central areas they left all the space in wide areas, our Fbs are awful at crossing and our wide players when given space and time to deliver a cross from wide position hardly delivers. In the upcoming matches many teams who stays with 10 men behind the ball might use the same tactics and we have to find some solution soon.
