That would be beautiful, even though we don't really need either as both are box to boxers, having Keita or Tolisso would absolutely upgrade our squad. Both can create and score goals from midfield. Would rather Keita.
An injury to Herrera/Pogba and we have problems. The options are Fellaini and Pereira, the latter question marks if or how much Mourinho trusts him. Depending on the formation, another number 8 would be essential squad wise

Well we already have multiple positions which require strengthening, I'm just not sure if the #8 position is as essential as the DM, Winger/wide player, striker positions that need strengthening.

Personally I think we should be it a priority this summer to sign an attacking LB, however I wouldn't be surprised if Mourinho is content with his options there.

Sorry, don't want to derail this thread.

Really? in most of the games I've seen he relies on his close control and dribbling to escape pressure and is almost Gundogan like in that regard. He is very good at turning. He would suit Liverpool to a T as their midfield has noone that is press resistant. His decision in the final third needs to be ironed out but that will improve especially because Klopp uses specific patterns.
Wijnaldum? Lallana?

I'd love Keita though. It would be a massive step forward if we can start signing players like him and VVD.

Please, please, please. This is my signing of the summer and whilst I know it's a position we may have covered, this bloke to me offers an upgrade on what we have. Yes we have some good pros but my ceiling is higher than what we have.....

Completely forgot about those 2! Yea he would be great because at some point your team looked knakcered and you were only in the prem. The games are so many that all the top teams now need depth and quality to match. Keita would be perfect for you guys. What do you thionk will happen with Sturrdige?

Desperate for us to sign Keita, will be absolutely gutted if he goes to United or another PL team. RB can't/won't pay him what we can/will have to, £150-200k pw. He would transform our midfield into a thing of beauty ;) Twitter rumours it's done but I'll go 10% as we know twitter is mostly BS ;)

Top 4 postions to strengthen are LB, CB, CM and striker and that includes Sturridge staying. If he leaves it becomes dodgy with only Ings and Origi (assuming Firmino is actually not a first choice striker) and neither are starters. However depending on tactics Firmino, Ings, Origi and Woodburn could be enough, with us not playing a clearly defined striker. It will be interesting, and tell us a lot about how we are going to set up next season, to see who, if anyone, Klopp goes for. Dolberg, Benzema or Lacazette (my preference) perhaps ? Doubt very much we can get the later and aren't Spurs in for Dolberg ? Or so the rumour goes.

Not sure. I think he will be allowed to leave if he wants to without much fuss. Depends on whether he fancies himself fighting his way back in next season I suppose. He's been benched for a lot of games he was available for this season (and typically, when we needed him due to injuries, was injured himself).

This kid looks a proper baller. Reminds me of Mane but a midfielder version and definitely not like Kante. Much more talented on the ball.

I think we are crying out for a box to box player.

He would be such a good option to have in midfield, a complete package. Not sure why JM isn't keen considering he used to like a similar player in Essien.

Keita, pogba and herrera in a 3 would be a brilliant midfield imo. Doubt it and haven't seen us linked in any way, but would be a very good signing. Most likely seems liverpool if he goes anywhere.

Red Card for Casemiro!
Liverpool apparently agreed a deal for him for next summer.

Definite upgrade on their squad, gives them more defensive stability and an anchor while they're trying to break down packed teams , something they're vitally lacking.

Will improve them massively next summer, IMO.

Smart move by RB and Liverpool both this. RB gets to keep him for one more year and sells him for more than release clause. Liverpool get a player they wanted for ages.

Good signing that is. Hopefully we'll have left them well behind by the time he comes.

Wonder why he's signing for Liverpool now if he won't join for a year and would have his pick of clubs next season.

Edit: Yeah this post sounds derisory towards Liverpool more than I meant, what I mean is. Would keeping his options open not benefit him more?

Guaranteed place in a team and a shed load of money? But like that would have come anyway. What happens if he gets a horrible injury, or something like that? Just seems strange, strange business. I mean if it all works out you've got a great player. I'm just cynical I guess.

He'll get a better offer next summer, and there'll be a second John Obi Mikel

Can you agree a signing for next summer?

We could also do some deals like this.

As someone who has seen ~20 games of him at Leipzig. He is going to be absolutely massive for Liverpool, he is the perfect CM for their style of play (and the PL in general).

Liverpool look like finishing pretty high up, but if they feck up and finish outside the top 4, would he still be interested?

James Pearce confirming it.
What's the point in a medical if he's not turning up until next year? What happens if he breaks his leg in may? Can't we put a deposit down on Griezmann too? Cunning plan from Liverpool though. Even if they have a rubbish season, Kloppo can always point to his 2018 signing to assure them all that the year after next year will be their year.
