Last season at 1-0 we would have gone on to draw, this is the difference and why we will be challenging.

Great win but today shows why we cant rely on Fellaini from the off. Herrera has to be a starter with Pogba.

You saw how we started to get some control back after Herrera came on. A must going forward.

I think it's only a good sign that we played so poorly yet won convincingly at the end. Everton didn't have many chances.

Great result in the end. Worrying performance until Everton imploded.

Tough match. Scoreline flatters us. Matic was very good. Lukaku seems to miss a sitter in games and then scores one later. Good win though. They drawed with City. Luckily Rooney was playing for them because he made so many errors.

I am not sure if it is just me but I have never felt so comfortable in a match where it was 1-0 and they had chances. I always got the feeling that if they scored we would go on and score another 1 or 2. I don't think Everton look a good side this year.

Guarantee we would have dropped points last season but to win 4-0 shows how far we have come. Performance was not great but we are scoring goals and I love that.

 No way were we 4-0 good. The second half was crap. So ponderous.

De Gea was immense. Matic was great. Young and Valencia were good.

If we could start every match in the 80th minute we'd win the league.

It shouldn't be possible to win 4-0 and still be pissed at our performance but here we are. Thought first half we started well, got a great goal but then took our foot of the gas until the final 10 minutes when we absolutely blew them away.

Awful performance and we won 4-0. This is getting weird.

Without Matic United would have been doomed. Thank you Chelsea, thank you Conte. 40 mill very well spent.

Happy with the win but we were poor for the majority of the game against an awful Everton. We stopped playing after we went 1-0 up. We won't beat any of the top 4 contenders with that sort of performance.

Madness.

I stand by my opinion that some of our attackers are lacking guile in the final third, but we are more ruthless than last season in putting away our chances and punishing mistakes. I'll take that, because it could be very important in winning games against teams where we are second best. But we do need some upgrades in attack next summer.

Weird game. Anyway, big feck you to Koeman for mouthing off in the past. Love that we gave them a bigger thrashing than Chelsea, Spurs and Atalanta.
It is crazy the number of times they have been humiliated and we are in September

Shite aren't we? ;)

If we can just get the attack clicking throughout the match, we're golden. In this game, off the top of my head -
  • Lukaku made, then missed a great chance.
  • Mkhi had some awful decision making in the final third that could have resulted in some clear chances.
  • Rashford was anonymous.
  • Lingard missed a sitter.
.. yet we still finished 4-0.

DDG and Matic were both excellent, no qualms with the defence or midfield even in Pogba's absence.

Scoreline flattered us a bit. But if we actually bothered playing with intensity earlier we might have scored more.

Jose should be pissed at the second half performance. We let a poor side have too much possession & a better team would've punished us.

Delighted Rom & Tony scored. De Gea superb. Matic very good. We missed Pogba & I hope he's not out as long as is being reported.

Finally, feck Koeman.

It's really annoying how inconsistent we are going forward considering the.amount of talent we have. Jose got his subs right but he should have made them earlier.

Played right into our hands. Most people will view this as a shit performance. But everton were done the minute they took of gueye and threw on an attacker.

We exploited them and killed the match off in convincing fashion. Prior to that it wasnt a classic dominant performance. Thats to be expected when we played midweek and also were missing Pogba.

What we did do was defend well and remain VERY solid throughout. It would be nice if our wingers could cross better, but that will come as Martial/Rashford/Lingard improve. Not to mention that it looks likely we will bring in another attacker either in Jan or next summer. Griezmann and/or Bale would give Lukaku alot more supply.

As it is, we were clinical today apart from Lukaku's first half miss. We pressed the shit out of everton and forced them into alot of mistakes.

Great to see the fitness in the team has really really improved.

Now we need to see if we can beat a team away from home in the same fashion.

Ridiculously flattering scoreline, the front four, especially Rashford, were dreadful which is worrying especially if Pogba's out for longer than expected. Cracking goal from Tony Vroom and a nice little addition to the goal difference so all in all not a bad afternoon.
