Interviewed by Lineker for the BBC:

'I see Chelsea, I see Tottenham - they like to play [but] at Manchester United you have the second balls...'

Lineker replied asking: 'Is that a little dig at [Manchester] United?' before the Etihad boss shot back immediately: 'I have a lot of respect for my neighbours.'

...I hope when we play them it's a Fellaini winning header from a long ball.

He would have done well to ignore us. Jose doesn't like being ignored. But now, he's just playing in Jose's territory. Jose will start his mind games with Pep.

Every manager has their own style of football. Pep and Klopp train their teams to press non stop and win the ball in the opposition half to launch a quick counter. We negate this tactic by playing a long ball to Fellaini and bypass their press. Just because they can't handle our tactic, they spew crap like we play an inferior brand of football. I can't wait for us to get one over these clowns.

Another way of saying - I have no clue how to play against their style so why don't I spout some righteous bullshit in the media to manipulate them into changing it to a style that I can play against.

I hope Fellaini scores a header from a long ball against them... Would be an absolute shame on him, knowing this and not equipped with players /tactics to stop it...

He obviously meant United can play AND use second balls...

Missing that would be any top managers undoing.

the fact he's making the comment shows he's a little concerned

I like this and I'm sure Jose will too

We're a physical team but we can play too. If he'd watched us at all in the first part of the season he'd know that. Purely mind games.

They did a pretty decent job handling it last season though.

Why does every manager stress about the way we play?

It's always the managers that set up their teams to press who always criticise our team, if i didn't know better I would think they want us to be stupid so that we play right into their hands.

Well Pep isn't wrong we often play the long ball when we could just play it out from the back but that isn't a bad thing if you keep possession. Against Southampton that was the case. The difference with us and Pep's City they have a great game plan, if you can keep possession and attack with pace then defending isn't important, (when it goes to plan) but if it doesn't they don't have a plan B.
This morning I read that Aguero got injured in a car accident and could be out for a month maybe two. This happens to City every year, Aguero getting injured and when he is out they drop points. The first team they play that marks De Bruyne out of the game, City will drop points because everything goes through him.

Spot on. Very little things about football annoys me more than self righteous pricks complaining about other people's style of football while being adamant that their style is the way to go.

Wenger used to do it and I loathe him for it.

Their style of football is part of their brand i guess and it also makes it easier to explain a loss "we stook to our principles blah blah blah". Especially in Klopps case

Meh, he knows that Mourinho is not a one trick pony like other managers, so he won't be able to predict exactly how we may set up when we play them. It could be 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 8 at the back, long ball United, free role for some players etc.

Its' just his way of venting his discomfort at the fact.

Pep is my dream successor to van Gaal. Ancelotti would be my 2nd choice and Simeone my 3rd choice.

Giggs shouldn't be handed the job off being a United legend on the pitch and being LvG's assistant for a few seasons. I just don't think it's worth the risk.

I don't think so.
Mourinho came out after that loss saying players neglected his instructions of playing second base balls (playing longer ball instead of a first time pass to the nearest teammate, who is heavily pressed)

What bull shit he is talking about, Its typical negetive propoganda these "style " managers do against united. Does he draws his conclusions of a club by one or two matches?
