truly shite display and jose needs a good slapping, its not going to get any better unfortunately over the next few games so get use to this type of football. Days like this when i still wish LVG was in charge :(
I hope that feeling passes away quickly.

So, zombie passing... Why has it returned? How long will it last? I would like to think that it was a bad day today but we've seen zombie passing for 3 games on the bounce now and it was probably most blatent in our win against Benfica. This slow, zombie football is more of a concern to me than the points dropped.

Absolutely tragic that a team that is always known for the wing play doesn't even have one winger capable of putting a decent cross, so many times Valencia got the ball and absolutely have no option other than passing it back to Jones because Mata and Lingard are so busy doing God knows what in the middle of the pitch
And everyone was touting "WE DONT NEED PERISIC." I am hoping some folk have been watching him more because the guy is quality on the wing and his crosses are phenomenal. The best crosses I've seen have been from Ashley freakin Young and he bottles 4 to every good 1 he puts in the box.

The reason we make errors is Mou took our form away with the way we played the Liverpool game. With that game everything we got before, was gone. Players out of form make errors. And not good enough players like most of the team today.
Stop saying nonsense like this. The players have to take responsibility for their own stupidity.

Mata is a veteran at this point in his career. He ought to know that he could not afford to lose the ball in that position on the pitch. Either whack the ball to row Z or take one for the team and foul his marker. He did nothing.

Their second goal was a long goalkick from their goalkeeper and Lindelof couldn’t make a simple clearance with a ball that travelled more than 7 seconds in the air. If Jose had deployed the same tactics against Liverpool here, we would have won.

Stop blaming the manager for the stupidity of the players.

This is going to be a long season, and almost certainly will not be as successful as last year, which was always going to be difficult to beat, but there’s signs of regression already. Last season, when we failed to win, we generally kept it tight and created a lot of chances, but happened to have a genuinely remarkable season in terms of poor conversion.

Today was quite enlightening. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are going to rip this apart, because an armchair amateur like me can see what was going wrong. Huddersfield were so narrow at times that when we were on the edge of their box, all of their players bar one or two were within a 10m circle. Whoever had the ball was surrounded, but there was an awful lot of space out wide or even just away from the ball. Taking Mata off was a big error here, because he has the technical ability to thrive in these tight spaces and and move the ball into the danger areas quickly.

Huddeersfield could defend narrow as we had nothing to offer wide. Rashford was a second centre forward, so Young had the left flank alone, but wanted to cut inside onto his right. It was Townsend-esque it was so one dimensional. Mkhi and Lingard were both narrow and offered very little second half. A couple of Mkhi’s ball at the end were just horrendous. On the right we had Valencia, who is remarkably easy to block off, due to his lack of willingness to take on his man. Show him onto his left foot, he will realise he doesn’t have one and simply pass it square. Our best bit of wide play came from Lukaku who decided to attack the flank, shrugged off the defender and fired a peach for Rashford to nod in.

Neither the manager nor the players seemed to be aware of how best to get back into this match and that is a big worry. It’s one thing to lose and fail because of poor conversion or a big refereeing decision or two, but it is another when you are behind for the majority of the game and you are unable at any point to exert your will on it.

This may well be for Mourinho, what the 2-1 loss to Bournemouth was for Van Gaal: a performance so flawed and baffling that it undermines your faith in the leader almost irreparably.

Also, be should have brought on Blind to play CB... Giving a Prem debut to a CB away from home in that sort of game is stupid.
Huddersfield are one of the worst attacking teams in the league.
This is exactly the sort of game you want to introduce a new player to the league.

Somewhere they can't find me.
We will do well to finish in top 4 . Too many players of very very limited standard . Why are we keeping players like Shaw at the club while playing someone like Young at left back , get both out and get a left back , any left back . Lingard is brainless and is not even squad material , Mata should go to China or somewhere else they play at a snails pace ,Jones is either a professional footballer or a glass statue , if he cant stay fit get him out . As for Lindelof is he seeing Joses daughter or something because i can see no other reason to have bought him . We have been getting very good results but we would do well to remember who we have played , nobodys.
Well for the dour defensive football we play, I think these players are quite enough.

This result has been coming post Anfield. Full backs are average not good enough. Herrera-Matic have been terrible as a pair and we are not creating anything in the final third.

Only surprised it took this long for us to get punished for losing the ball. Mkhitaryan has been doing that all season.

We are RB, LB and CM and CAM short. Too many players who don't deliver. Mourinho tactics has also caused this recent decline of performances with his shambles set up at Anfield. Instilled negative sideways and backwards football. I'm seeing too many touches and slow passes and zero movement.

Desperately need Fellaini, Bailly & Pogba back. Herrera-Matic have been awful.

If Jones had played the whole game, it would have been a 1-0 win.
We can't rely on Jones. The guy will be injured for most of the season, as has been the case for the last few seasons.
Jose should've seen this coming - he built a CB partnership, using a player who is injured for the majority of the time.

On a day where Chelsea showed character to come back from being 2-1 down (albeit with the help of the ref), it is rather depressing to see the lack of urgency in our play, and the 'big' players fail to show up. This was the first test this season where we were faced with adversity, and we failed spectacularly.

Klopp is having trouble with lesser teams too. So don't get that one.
Agreed but his teams don't sit back and jerk each other off while down two goals...they press and attack and at least show they give a shit.

I guess our players are good enough or smart enough to understand when to play defensively and when to have a go. I don't think it's cause of the Anfield, they're not that slow exactly so they still play like they did in Liverpool. We're in a shit form and we need Fellaini and Pogba back asap. Among other things.

On a wet windy day against a powerful striker? I don't think so.

Don’t even have the enthusiasm to be angry.

We made mistakes, got punished. Players are out of form. We’re five points behind.

Move on.

Don't know why people are surprised at the overreaction. This place was unbearable when we were winning

The tactics didn’t let us down, the individual errors cost United. Mourinho himself will not get on the pitch to control a simple ball to Mata or make a clearance for Lindelöf.
I get what you're saying but we've been garbage up front. Even if we didn't concede those 2 goals thanks to errors how would we score?

Easy win for Huddersfield, all you have to do against United is defend the left side as United play like the right wing does not exist and you'll be fine

Nonsensical peformance today. That's a 5 point swing over the last two weeks. After a good start to the season, it appears we have to prove our credentials as real title challengers much more than people first thought. We've also gradually lost all the spark in our football which is really weird, and it's reverted to the (non) functional shit football going forward.

We are 2nd in the league, top of the CL group.
Sorry mate, but we are not anywhere near to where LVG was when the "LVG Out!" thread was created.

Sell Lindelof, sack Mourinho?

On a serious note,

1. Our performances have gone tits up since the Pool match. I think, altering our flow during that match seems to be costing us dearly - our performance against Benefica was not noteworthy at all
2. Need Zlatan and Pogba back asap - desperately need leaders on the pitch
3. Rest Lukaku and Matic - Lukaku seems exhausted
4. Lindelof is nowhere ready for PL
5. We could do with bolstering the front line during the winter window - Ozil would definitely help

Hope Mou restores sense of urgency among the players. Not taking a shot at goal till 60th minute is not acceptable at all

The whole team looked tired today. Who would have thought that this time last year that Fellaini would be an important missing player who would have made a difference. Utd needed their injured players back ASAP.

Even if they don't have good cross on them I wish they could have keep their width instead of strolling around in the middle of the park doing nothing, it just makes the team unbalanced and easy to defend, it's not like when they receive the ball in the middle they are playing like Isco or Silva, most of the time they just pass it sideways or lost the ball completely, fecking waste of space
