League Cup - 4th round

Predictable.

This new system gives serious advantage to the team shooting second.

Why is it two penalties for City then two for Wolves?

City the best side in england by a million miles taken to pens by wolves reserves? Oh....

What a shambles of a shootout.

Who's idea was that. Some absolute twat that's who.

Wolfes deserved a bit more. Had so many chances. Big difference on the penalties though. I suspect the nerves in Wolfes was bigger as well.

Imagine playing a game like this against city and then two penalties like this..

Well that was predictable. Wolves shouldve killed them off in the game.

Just look at City's penalty takers: KdB, Yaya, Sane and Aguero... Worth over £150 million alone

No chance they were going to lose the shootout.

Absolute fecking cnuts the FA. Why the hell would you change the penalty taking system. Team winning the toss and scoring first has the "advantage" but that completely goes out of the window when you give the 2nd team two in a row.

The previous system gave the advantage to the team shooting first, judging by statistics. This is a way of evening it out.

I thought Welbeck too but:
Guseppe Rossi (born 01.02,1987) & Gerard Piqué (born 02.02.1987) both scored against Sunderland on 15th October 2005
(Maceada scored in 2009 / Welbeck in 2008 – both were younger (at the time) but much later in the grand scheme of things!
LOL. This has all gotten out of hand. The comparison was the first player born within a manager's reign to score for said team. It's Rossi, as Pique didn't score in that game. Pique didn't score for United until the 07/08 UCL.

In this penalty system anyone who shoots second and pus both penalties pretty much confirm their win. The other team is put under a huge pressure after.

Ffs of course city win the pens their pen takers are amazing. It's not even about the management in this situation it's about the quality of the player so it's obvious they are gonna win, but that's penalties for you.

Atleast this game shows that it's not always easy for city, without de Bruyne and silva they are surprisingly average, makes the Pogba situation a bit less worrisome.

How's that, though ? I mean put stats aside and judge it yourself ?

Chances are the exact same outcome would have happened in the old format. A shit penalty shootout will always be a shit penalty shootout.

Wasn't this new penalty system meant to make it fairer for both teams? Seems all it has done is reverse it so one team still has an advantage. Duh.

Because you don't want either team to benefit from a coin toss or have an advantage? ABBA system eliminates the added pressure of always going second and playing catch up.

What an effort by Wolves... Sitting back and defending is one thing but till 120th min they keep attacking on counter.

Fatigued City with West Brom away next for them
