Great performance. Spurs were excellent defensively, and so were we. But totally deserved. 2 - 0 or more would have been justified. There was no room out there. We conceded a lot to them they had the diamond in midfield. Matic MOTM for me.

EDIT: and of course Ashley too.

Spurs are a gimme at OT.

We just need to keep grinding out wins until our first choice midfielders come back. Until then, I won't judge our style of play or the form of our striker, the service from midfield and #10 is atrocious.

Overall, typical Mourinho game decided by one goal. A positive is that we are not bottling 1-0s like last season. We have beaten both Spurs and Southampton by one goal.

On the basis of second half and the missed chances, we should have won 3-0. Flattering scoreline for spuds. Mou's the boss, poch the new fergie my arse.

Great second half showing. Matic and Lukaku really good. Martial again making a great impact.

Not exactly lucky, but not exactly deserved either. An even game between two teams who didn't play well and either side could have nicked it. In the end our better squad depth up front was probably the difference.
If you take your chance and your opponent doesn’t, you deserve to win.

No matter how badly you play.

Hard fought win, it could easily have gone the other way but we dug deep. Massive 3 points.

Martial is becoming this team's super-sub Solskjaer

Absolutely awful from the 15th minute to the 40th minute. Decent either side of that.

Much better in the 2nd half overall. Looked a lot better after Mkhi went off. He just keeps losing the ball and ducks out of physical challenges.

Some great defending on show from both sides. Young was a warrior.

They are a very decent side. The best we've played this season.

Second half united were the better side and deserved the three points. It's a very good win.

Martial the hero, Young the MOTM
Great 3 points for us, Spur was the better side in first half though, 2nd half we came back with some good display.

Great result but we are awful going forward. Our defence is rock-solid but our only attacking tactic appears to be hoofball.

Guardiola must laugh when he watches some of our attempts at combination play.
Honestly, this obsession with Guardiola is pathetic.

Why we even talking about Pogba, Kane etc. ?

Bad first half, but a much more gutsy display in the second. Deserved win I feel, if only narrowly. Spurs are good team and played very decently, but lacked cutting edge.

Feck yeah :D

Not a fantastic performance but second half was better. Praise the lord for Martial.

Young MOTM?

Big win, big display from Young and big balls from Martial!
We were very poor - slightly better in the second half - in term of creativity and drive forward, however, the guys showed passion this time (which we lacked completely last week) and that's what keeps you in the game even on a poor day.

Lukaku with a pretty difficult game as he wasn't getting sh** all from the midfield in first half, made a few bad decisions and hit the post in the second. Nevertheless good for him that he was involved in the goal - we need him to score goals again!

Young my motm.

PS with Kane leading their line I think we would have lost..

Excellent result. In the end the tactical set up paid off, even though we left ourselves badly outnumbered in midfield.

Great win. This is a Spurs team in real good form. Sure they were missing Kane but for us Pogba is key.

Lukaku worked really hard. Unlucky not to score. We need to cross more.

The pints will taste sweet tonight.

Something that crossed my mind. When Zlatan comes back. Wouldn't that mean that we could start Rashford - Lukaku - Martial. And have Z come off the bench, with some rotation from game to game.

They only had one decent chance. We had a couple of good periods and looked the more like scoring. Great finish Martial, balls of steel.

Opens up a nice little gap with the teams below us, just like the one in Spurs' defence for the goal.

Lot better performance in 2nd half. Even with injured players we need to show that level of drive as shown in 2nd half and we can overcome most of the teams.

Nothing beats a rainy 1-0 slog against tough opposition. Love these kind of wins. Matic (and Herrera) worked their socks off and were pretty gassed by the end. Defence solid throughout.

First half good start then fade. 2nd half after Mourinho bollocking much more aggressive and some good moments. Ashley Young MOM. Good to see Martial smiling after scoring. Miki weak again and Lukakus drought continues. Why does Lingard get played in the Premier? Keep him for the cups.

Enjoyed that a lot.
As I wrote in the match-thread, we did well in the first half overall but lacked the edge (final pass accuracy).
Second half we had that pass accuracy, but lacked the finish a bit until Martial came on. Good subs by Mourinho, good tactics, well done to the players.

Ground out a win when we really needed it, wasn't the prettiest game by any stretch but important 3 points. We do look very solid with that back 3/5 though, Spurs created very little although they undoubtably missed Kane. I wonder when Pogba is back whether Mou will try him in place of Mkhi instead of dropping Herrera, neither has been great but the amount of play that breaks down with Mkhi it'd be nice to see someone as composed and hard to dispossess as Pogba in there.

Is it true we have only conceded one goal from open play at Old Trafford this calendar year?

It's a shame Utd to ruin the Tottenham/Sky Sports love affair today. I could've swore I was watching a Spurs fan channel all day.
