Me too. We can spend whatever we earn, which we do.

City spend beyond their actual earnings from oil money. Just saying, that's how they've got to where they are...
No I mean we have had the chance to spend big on the same players as city but where they got them we didnt, and thats our downfall. Pep saw what he needed and its working. Jose chose differently and its gradually falling apart.

Never does at the bridge. Havent seen us play well there in years, if ever. Probably the only memorable moment was the darren fletcher goal.

That was at OT.

Meaningless draw (0-0) in 06/07. Hard-fought loss (1-2) in 07/08. Good draw (1-1) in 08/09.

We outplayed them in 09/10, we were robbed by the ref (0-1).
We matched them in 10/11 in the league, the ref gave Luiz 10 lives (1-2). Same season we schooled them away in the CL (1-0 but it was as one-sided as today).
11-12 was 3-3.
12-13 we got lucky from the ref and won 3-2. We also led 3-2 at around 85 mins before a series of feckups made it 3-3 and eventually 4-5 AET in the League Cup. We lost in the FA cup but I don't remember the game.

Moyes was of course destroyed.

LvG first season we were grim but they were clinical - it was the only chance all game for either side and they took it.
We outplayed them in 15/16 and were 1-0 up before spectacularly bad defending let Costa equalise in stoppage time.

I've seen most of these matches and would rate this as our worst performance there barring last season's 0-4 and Moyes' 1-3.

You win some, you lose some. We are always shit at Stamford Bridge. Always.
Still early November, Pogba will surely come back for the next game and Ibra isn't far off. Things will get better.
I still have faith for the title, if we lose against City then, for me, it's over.
Keep the faith.

Does anybody have the guts to manage us the way we should be managed. He didn't have a fecking clue today once we went a goal behind(not that he did while it was still 0-0).Have the bottle to go out and try and win games for christs sake.

Next 2 home games should steady the ship but it'll only paper over some alarming cracks that are starting to form.Pogba should be back after the international break and that should push us in the right direction again.

I really thought we were going to win today but we never looked anything other than a beaten team.
A few people were like you in the "is a draw a good result" thread, and I simply didn't get it.
There was nothing in the slightest to suggest we'd beat them.

We never do at their place, we've been appalling attacking wise since Liverpool away, Pogba's still out, and Chelsea were always going to turn up after such an embarrassment midweek.
I didn't understand how anyone could think we were going to win. Hope, yes, we all do every game, but think it for sure? Why?!

It’s hard to think City came here and bullied Chelsea. World of difference between that game and ours today. Obviously Chelsea themselves were better today but we were exceedingly poor.

Jose needs to accept his plan for Big away games has died. None of his teams even score in these games anymore.

It’s the fact Chelsea aren’t all that that pisses me off. Same with the game v Liverpool. There is no need to play this defensive bullshit. Look at what City did to them.

Look at what Roma did the other week. I’d kill for us to go there and even get a 3-3 draw...just to see us actually do something away at a big team. That was utterly pathetic today. We have major problems yet again.

I blame Mourinho for this we missed Pogba but it wouldn't of made that much of a difference.

We have ZERO outlet on that right wing and a he has failed to identify for 2 seasons someone to play there so our formation whatever it may be in any game lack ls balance in both defence and attack because we either play a CAM (Mata/Lingard) there or we play nobody forcing Valencia to do the work of two men and lets face it the only reason he's now a wing back is because he was playing shite as a winger.

Perisic was NEVER for the RW and Mhkitaryan came from Dortmund having one of his best seasons at CAM.

Danny Rose keeps being mentioned vut again not here and no alternative brought in so we are forced to play Young who is doing a decent job but is as one footed as Heather Mills!

Chelsea are weak on squad depth and yet some how managed to beat us and convincingly despite Mourinho taking an usual approach in being more offensive.

Lukaku was non existent as he has been since Liverpool he had no service and when he gets it he messes up because 9/10 times he's on his own with support.

For a team that spent 2 years under possesion and pass obsessed manager LVG how on earth can our team NOT pass properly?

No game plan when under pressure and very much no game plan when we went behind

Only time we had them under pressure was last few mins

The team and manager have not been good enough for over a month niw
And that was because of their gamelan changed to defend the lead.

Carra is bang on. It was an open game for Chelsea not for us. Very one-sided after the 15 minutes we started brightly.

Hate to say it but I agree with him too , damning indictment of us that even in such an supposedly 'open game' we barely created anything after the Rashford chance early on , we are really poor at creating anything when we come up against decent defenses even in loose games. We just lack that bit of quality.

Dig up stupid!
I hate chelsea at the bridge, regardless of the result, which 90% of the time is negative, we simply never play well there.

I hate to say it as much as the next man but we really should've shut up shop today and looked to nick it.

Negative football. Lining up 5 defenders has to stop. Our midfield gets overrun. Also we have zero attacking outlet on the right hand side

I stand corrected

Really dont remember any league match in which we got the better of them. Always though the fletcher goal was away..:(

Quite a sad record against them, but hasnt stopped us winning trophies in the past and wont stop us doing so this season either. Our margin for error is tiny, but im sure citeh will drop points at some point. They collapsed last season so anything can happen. Hope we have a right go at chelski and citeh when they come to OT.

Just praying we get Pogba back and bring Zlatan along slowly.

Those two will change the complexion of the team.

Can't bother to visit the football websites. Any post match comments from Jose? Who will he throw under the bus this time?

I was surprised at how few predicted a Chelsea win in the pre-match predictions, and I'm also surprised that people here are so appalled. Seriously, what made people think we'd do well at Stamford Bridge? History suggests we usually don't, and nothing this season has made me think any other outcome was likely. I predicted 1-0 because of this. This game won't define our season, we're still 2nd in the league, some here need to get a fecking grip :wenger:
Might be 2nd but in reality a long, long way off being anywhere good enough to win the League.

Mouirinho is strangling United.

Spending 150-200m every summer, and still play the Pulis' Stoke football.
Exactly. Pass it 20 times in your own half then big hoof up hopefully Lukaku Rashford or Martial catches it, is our main attack.

We have no creativity. Where City have De Bruyne and Silva we have Mkhitaryan and Fellaini. It's very depressing.

Shite.

Couldn't care how good a player Hazard is - would never want him in my team. Can't have the diving at the slightest touch.
... do u not watch hererra make a huge deal at the tiniest of tackles every time...? Rather hazard than him if I’m honest

We need to improve the way we attack in general. Nothing new, but more evidence of the same. Frustrating cause I don't think it will happen under Mourinho.

Defensively I thought it was very even today, but Chelsea attacked better than us and got the goal due to it.

Missed Pogba badly, Mikhi offered nothing. Lanzini might be better than him. Another top 4 fight looms.

Good news lads, 27 games left. That's 81 points left to play for. Don't forget that a top 3 finish this year is still a massive improvement on the last 5 years of shitness.

Be serious. Its a hamstring injury, its not a matter of pain. Push your hamstring when its not ready and it tears, and then you're out for months.
Why has his hamstring taken 8 weeks? Are we not overpampering this lad? What the heck? Even the frail Ryan Giggs comes back in 2-3 weeks after a hamstring.

That big red bus was missing, it must be injured...

Why change your approach in such a big game? Yeah it was refreshing to see a change in approach but at what cost?

Right let's move on. We can't do a damn thing about things. We ain't the manager. Let's hope he can change things.

First half we edged it I feel but we weren't in the second half. If it wasn't for Jones going for a wander, we'd have got a result out of that game.
Nah, we started really well but after the 20th minute it was all them, really. And it wasn't really Jones's mistake that cause the goal. All defenders were poorly positioned, aye, but it was a tactical mistake to allow that run by Azpilicueta. Chelsea have scored that same goal like 5 times this season. If anything, it should've been Rashford / Mikhi's job to follow Azpi but I don't know if they fell asleep or just wasn't in their instructions.

Have to be honest. It's really embarrassing for United to play football like that.

Is anyone else numb? Thought I’d be fuming but I just feel nothing. We’re turning into the sort of clubs we used to mock.
