We've watched United do the exact same thing for over 2 decades of Premier League football. It's an absolute cnut when your opponents do it, but it's what happens to every team that wins the league.

Not saying they've won it btw. But obviously favourites at the moment.
Man I remember how depressing it was watching Cantona do that week after week when you hauled back Newcastle in the Keegan meltdown season. Sterling has been our Cantona so far this season.

In reality we're on the back of 3 iffy performances and Southampton probably deserved at least a draw on merit and if any team deserved to win it was probably them. I'm starting to worry about the derby now, you seem to be finding form and we seem to be slowing down. I think we'll need Arsenal to knock you out of your stride if we're to get anything from the derby.

I'm not worried in the slightest about City. We already expected them to beat Southampton and West Ham. We just need to keep winning and not look at what they're doing. City are slowing down and they will drop points during the festive period. When they do we must be in position to pounce. Simple as that.

fecking Berts...it seems like it’s 6 or 7 minutes injury time every game. Their game at the weekend ended on 97-ish too.

As Franny Lee once said, “if there was a cup for cock ups, City would win it every year”.

Don’t panic, they will have their blip. We just need to keep there or thereabouts.

Listen to you all. Losing your shit because of a last minute goal. It's November and the season runs until May.

'Hand them the title now', 'The title's theirs!'

No, it's not ffs. They scraped a win at home to southampton, wooptydoo.
They haven't just scraped a win though. They've played some incredible football, scored a shit load of goals, and have only dropped 2 points all season. They have also looked great in the CL.

I understand it's human nature to ignore facts and be optimistic and defiant, but I prefer realism.

There was a point last season when we won a couple games and were 5 points behind Chelsea and people started talking about a title challenge. We ended up over 20 points behind. But whatever. We're all free to believe what we want.

City are doing what's necessary but we can take some positives from their last few games. They've now scraped wins against Feyenoord, Huddersfield and Southampton. Lucky to win in the last two. City will definitely drop points. Any team relying on Raheem Sterling for points will drop points.

Utd complaining about added time never thought I would see that... But where did these 5-6 min come from?

Southampton should have scored 2 in the first half but City are grinding them out. With December coming with all of these games I can see City dropping points but we need to keep our shit tight until then and win our games.. The game v City at home needs to be won, no drawing crap...

They are playing unbelievable but talk about run of the green this season. Where did 5 minutes stoppage time come from?!?

Just give them the title because the hope of catching and despair when they do that is just horrible.
In fairness Southampton started time wasting after 84 seconds of the match. They also took a good 3 minutes with the Cedric injury and sub coming on.

If there's one manager I have hope in who can stop this City side it's Jose tbh. That being said, even if we win it won't matter, you guys are showing the desire of Champions this season. TBH I don't even think you guys have been that great consistently, in flashes you look immense but for the most part you've had a lot of luck and jammy finishes to games. Credit to you lot though, it's what's needed to win this league.

It's the hope that kills. Everyone expected a drubbing. Everyone thought they'd cruise it at 1-0.

Then an equaliser! Fairly late.
But we all knew.

Just not that late
Indeed it is. Football can be gut wrenching at times. We just need to beat Arsenal now. All on the derby game then.

Because they were 5 seconds away from dropping points. Can’t help but hope for a draw.
Haven't you seen them score many late goals already this season ? It ain't over till the ref whistles. I stopped watching and hoping for a result against them in their homes games anyway. You're basically setting yourself up for disappointment.

Where the grass is greener.
City are doing what we all expected they would in the summer. How can they not with that squad? On paper it looked like a one horse race, and it's turning into a reality.

You're the kind of guy who in March will be saying, it's only a 15 point gap, there's still time.

They've been smashing teams, but this sort of win is a lot more what titles are made of.
If you're not even the slightest bit worried by a 96th min win when they haven't played great, you're in a huge minority.

If we don't win our next 2 games, we could find ourselves between 10-12 points off.
No, I'm the kind of guy that says 'it's an 8 point gap and it's only December'.

Their form and ability to win their games is impressive there's no denying that. I never said I wasn't worried, but will they maintain this form throughout the season? Absolutely not. Why? Champions League, FA cup, League cup (to a lesser extent) and injuries inevitably take their toll on league form.

Totally irrational to be handing them the title when there's still 72 points up for grabs.

Arsenal game is huge for us. They're obviously playing extremely well at home at the moment. Clearly we need to win that game and take it into the derby. I'm confident at Old Trafford.

I'm pretty convinced you're not a united fan and an oppo on the WUM.

Your posting is absolutely awful.

No, they are not.

At least not in recent games.

I think like the great United sides we've made our own luck constantly by doing the right things and constantly playing on the front foot and spending so much time camped in the oppositions 3rd.

The only game hand on heart I can say we didn't deserve to win was tonight but that doesn't paper over the fact we've been sluggish the last 3 matches and are certainly slowing down. KDb has been dropping his level just slightly too even though he somehow got a goal and assist tonight.

On a side note, I'm starting to get frustrated with Jesus, he's greedy as hell and a total diver despite all his natural talent.

I remember what I used to think of fans who bitched and whined about us getting Fergie time back in the day. And it wasn't very much. Let's not be those small time fans now. City are winning games because they're playing football the right way, right up until the referee blows his whistle.

I don't think the league is over and I don't think they'll go the whole season without a bad spell. United need to make sure we're in touching distance when they do and make the most of our 2 opportunities against them. We do that and we can still win this league.

The really annoying thing is that they've only conceded something like one goal more than us this season.

It would be one thing if they were getting goals but looking vulnerable while our defence pragmatically ground out results for us. It's another when they're beating us for goals and keeping pace with us defensively.

I understand you are excited and I know you want city to dominate the league like we used to do but trust me Sterling is nothing like a Cantona and I mean with all due respect to Sterling.

I think teams are starting to work out how to play against City, Soton should have scored a few tonight and should definitely have been able to cling onto 1-1. Struggled past Huddersfield, scraped past Soton. Still favorites but hardly playing teams off the park.

The only positive if you can call it that is that City are slowing down and will drop points sooner or later.

If we win our next 2 (which is not impossible), it's still game on.

No matter what the context, thats the behaviour of an absolute bellend.
Pep on MOTD
""I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end. Southampton have some super talented players, Redmond is so good one against one. But they didn't' want to play, they were time wasting from the ninth minute. I just wanted them to play."

City have looked a bit shaky in their past couple of fixtures. That said, they are still getting 3 points each time so the title is at this point theirs to lose.

I don't mean in terms of talent or playstyle, I mean this season in the way he has been dragging us over the line when we've not played well, reminds me of how Cantona dragged you guys to 3pts many times in that chase when things were not going your way, popping up with late goals etc...
