Poor second half. No fight at all. Jose utterly messed up his substitutions.

We lost so much speed and purpose with Pogba and Lingard gone. The change should have been Herrera for Martial.

Great result and performance. Jose got the tactics badly wrong with what was an arrogant team selection imo. Your lot seemed to give up completely which must be worrying for you.

The whole team should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutely pathetic. No determination, no pride, nothing. They should apologize to the away supporters.

Two weeks wages minimum. Mourinho included.

    Btw. Please ban Glaston.

It's almost getting to the point where Lukaku is turning into a disappointment this season. I thought he'd be able to take his game to the next level with better players around him, but there are attributes to his game that are so obviously not up to scratch. Probably not the style of striker we needed.

Then again we are just a non-event in attack. Pathetic coaching.

Well, Spurs fully deserved that win. To be honest it was a bit of a stroll. Could have been (should have been) 3 - 0 with the pen that was not given. Could easily have been 4 or more.

I agree on the basis of the things I was concerned and warned about before he came, he hasn't reassured me in the slightest that I was just being negative.

When will Lukaku score against a top six opposition? Or has he already?

Still not convinced about starting Lingard in big games.

Disappointing performance by almost all players on our team tonight.

And ? they were good, solid, i'm not taking anything from them, but definitly nothing special. we weren't up for it. that's about it.
Re-read your post. You stated that 'they weren't that good'.

They were more than good enough and outplayed us but we were toothless and uninterested. It was a diabolical performance from our end.

Fellaini and Herrera were signed with 'big money'. £30 million players before the Neymar inflation.

And Mkhi and Lindelof proves Mourinho's does make mistakes. Lukaku is off and on, and Matic seems to be proving everyone right with his age since he looks properly burnt out since December after a great start.
Doesn't matter if Charlie Adam was signed for big money. Buying for the sake of buying is never a good approach.

Mkhitaryan was shit but Jose moved him on as soon as he could for a much better player. Lindelöf hasn't failed yet, he's actually been decent in recent performances. You can't even say Matic is a bad buy. Play 3 in midfield and he's fine.

Who would you sign then? What would you do differently? What should we do? Just fire Jose and bring a manager in who can win the league with this team?

None of this shit would have ever happened if we had one ounce of leadership in the team. Not a single leader.
Real concern in this team. If the title race was tight, you'd never expect this group of players to show the character to ocme out on top. Almost every time the game is a bit difficult, our players fold like a pack of cards and show petulance and disinterest instead of desire and passion. No shame to lose 2-0 at Spurs but you'd like to see at least one player try to get us back into the game.

Well yeah, and people will peddle the 'it's not the ref's fault that we're losing', which is correct. But, in tight games like these a flukey goal can be enough to get you back into a game, but it's hard to get one of those when the ref's ignoring blatant handballs and ignoring fouls for one side in general while allowing the other team to dive, roll around, leave feet in, pushing from behind on counters and whatnot.
clutching at straws mate. They played us and battled us off the park.

Pogba will never be great in a two man midfield; he's not a DM. It baffles belief that Mourinho still hasn't seen this. It has to be a 3 man midfield; this mistake by Mourinho is hard to take.
Problem is Utd now have 2 luxury players in Pogba and Sanchez who both want to roam freely with no responsibility. Pogba has to grow up, he has all the tools to be an outstanding box to box midfielder, just has to want to be.

Not so much the selection as the system.

Obviously I didn't watch him as much as I am now and as such, wasn't aware that his poor points were so poor. His touch and passing skills lack so much precision. The fundamentals of the game shouldn't be overlooked.

Add to that the fact no one else has had a run upfront, he's got zero competition.

Don't understand why we keep playing the long ball and losing. Why not try to pass from the back. Lukaku vs 2 isn't a very high probability match up. And even if lukaku wins the flick we lose the second ball more often than not.

I don't know if the first goal killed us or not but It would be interesting if that didn't happen to see if we actually gave a fu** about winning tonight. Smalling is terrible and shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11. That was the worst I have seen Matic play since he joined. Midfield and attackers not helping each other out. Overall very disappointed as I thought we would win this game with the arrival of Alexis.

I dont think you can blame Lukaku, if he never got the ball. Generally the whole defence is lacking, Smalling cant move the ball forward, and pogba is not a midfield defender so Matic was on his own, which makes him look bad. We need another central defender and two proper midfielders who can attack and defend. But we know that we are lacking in these departments as well as the 2 fullbacks,

    - Not lose every SINGLE header that comes to him and hold up the ball better (something done masterfully by Kane)

    - Complete basic 2 yard passes in and around the penalty area

    - Take on his man or complete a dribble in the penalty area

Don't take it as a knee jerk reaction because I'm not saying he's playing bad today. This is how he's played with us since the start of the season. Him scoring goals used to paper over the cracks but now that the goals have dried up you can see how POOR is all around game REALLY is.
We just need him to score goals, we didn't buy him for his all round game or chance creation. I ain't being funny but it was well established that if we provide for him he'll score the goals.

We are struggling to provide for him, we're all sat here watching a whole team feck up over and over again before it even gets anywhere near him but he's getting dug out? Its like y'all were waiting....

Most toothless performance I've seen in a while.

Showed a bit of spirit in the first half.

    Second half was embarrassing.

Best to forget about this and move on.

    Positive is Chelsea lost too.

Glad to see people recognising how bad that was. There might actually be a backlash rather than having to endure Pogba and Lingard dancing on instagram tomorrow as though it never happened

Paul Pogba need to sort his life out. The guy is so talented but is just being allowed to do what he wants. Same with Martial and others. Cares more about his hair and lifestyle than he does about the football. When has he ever produced anything at a critical time for us? Gets so overrated as if he is Scholes part II.

The guy isn’t fit to lace the boots of Darren Fletcher to be quite honest.

This kinda contradicts your earlier point about the board's need to spend big money. We don't need to spend big money, we need to spend smart money.

None of the players we signed since 2013 have been worth it. Our best player is still goddamn DAVID DE GEA the GOALIE.

So Man Utd just need a goal hanger to tap in goals? we had Chica for that and he was deemed not suitable.

With all their shots, how did their only goals come from a play that should have been stopped and an own goal?

Got to hand it to them, every player was better in their position than us, and their tactics were spot on for taking us on and we had so many poor players and woeful subs and line-up. Was really looking forward to this game, now just can't wait for yet another season to be over.
