Naw. Without a defined judging criteriaa at the outset (like "one tournament peak" for the NT), Roberto Baggio is the first name on the list, no question.
When you think 1990s Serie A Roberto Baggio is who you think first. Ronaldo's legend is a big part of Brazil 98 and 2002 - not relevant here, whereas Baggio legend is almost entirely 90s Serie A. When you say Fenomeno I don't think "90s Serie A" I think Brazil 98 and 2002.
Yeah Baggio is top pick here and perhaps the icon of the theme, but both van Basten and Ronaldo personally would be too much for me to pass on, being one of my favorite strikers, ever. Also both of them have additional pull in terms of games, and Baggio seems a tad underrated.

A never-nude? I thought he just liked cut-offs.

Baggio is the absolute standout for me too given the draft theme, though Ronaldo's Serie A form was jaw-dropping in it's own right.

I know it's too late(way too late) but would've been fun to introduce the 3 foreigners rule even if we opened up the timeframe a bit to be true on the theme.

Could be an interesting variation if we return to a Serie A Draft in the future. It would definitely spice up the drafting process.

Yeah, I also thought about it (especially since I've had my own little Internazionale - 2 Dutch, 1 Brazilian, 2 French, 1 Uruguayan, 1 Belgian players)

Yeah maybe since establishment to 1995 - Serie A with three foreigners rule. A big pool of players and the quality should be spread really nicely.

I mentioned that during the draft. 80s & 90s Serie A with a foreigners rule would be awesome, but you may still need to cut down to 8 managers which wouldn't be popular. Maybe 50s on, but definitely cutting it off when Bosman cocked it all up.

Calciopoli aside, what screwed them up really was Bosman as other leagues really lacked as much local quality depth across the board.

Must've missed it as a suggestion, but we can open up the pool - just include 30's, 40's etc till 1995.

5-6 decades are more than enough for 16 managers as well.

I'm a bit wary with 30s and 40s, even 50s. There's really very little to go on, particularly if it is supposed to be Serie A and not World Cup/EC, etc. It's clearly already hard enough to separate with the 90s

Do you even know 144 Italian players, let alone the timeline?
That's why unless you go way back it's nigh on impossible to run it with 16 managers. But do you know 72 Italian players? Of course you do, and well enough.

Yeah, that's given  Still there are 20-30 players even from the 30-50's, who are picked even in all time drafts.

You'd need 128 most likely in 12 picks per manager. Not that hard to find 16 keepers given the timeline.

Can we have a Redcafe Archive already?! These videos and write ups keep getting lost in individual main threads.

@antohan you've been working on one for ages. Just let it rip before more content gets lost.

I created the thread, posted a few links updating the title with every new one and sent the login and password to everyone in that convo so they got on with it.

Nothing happened.

See above. We created a user to own the OP posts and shared the credentials so we don't depend on any one person.

Damned, I should have used it to vote for myself and force a draw in R1  That would have been epic. Whodunnit? Cric cric.
