Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

I guess that increases the chances of us signing Alexis.

Cry baby.

@totaalvoetbal so how did Gabriel Jesus presence yesterday changed the game for City? Can't wait until Aguero leaves this summer as some of these Pep fan boys are going to be in for a big shock next season. He's a huge reason why they managed to run away with the league. Those are probably the same people that believed Ronaldo leaving would make Madrid stronger too.

He's another Chicarito benefiting from youthful energy and an attacking system.
Just seen this, very good comparison actually. His general play is awful and rarely can he hold his own against any semi decent defence but he has a good movement and can get on the end of those chances.

He’s 20 and already had a broken foot and a knee ligament injury. Maybe he is not as great as his start suggested, but his general play is not awful like you said. Much better potential than Chicharito. Look at his numbers when he was a starter. Also yesterday he had a goal wrongly disallowed and another if Sane didn’t shit the bed and passed it.

Good player. Remains to be seen if injuries will ruin his career but he's definitely a top prospect.

You think they won't sign someone to replace him? Griezmann or Dybala are both up for grabs this summer.

What a whiny little bitch  Deserved a yellow card long time ago though.

Fully assimilated as a City player now, has turned into a proper twat.

Hopefully after the last couple of days he'll stop saying he's better than and a better fit than Aguero, 1/2 of the player Aguero is.

Was he high today? Someone should check if he was on drugs when on the pitch. All I saw him doing was acting all hyper aggressive and being a cnut trying to pick fights with everyone.

He's a great finisher and in the box. But his passing, hold up and general play needs a lot of work.

Not much between him and what Chicharito was under Sir Alex tbh. Not a very good passer, not a very good dribbler, not great at running with the ball or link up play, not a creative player... But he definitely knows how to find positions in the box where the ball will drop and he's a very good finisher to his credit. All he seems to be though.

He is not the same as Chicharito. I remember him at the U20 World Cup where he was the best player basically at 18, and he was doing dummies, backheel assists etc.
He had nagging injuries, City basically ignore him a lot in the build up too. And Pep must tell him to keep it as simple as possible as well. He still has his stats but I think he needs to express his football more.

Ah I see. So his complete lack of influence on the game is tactical

I think his best strengths are straight balls directed at him or behind the defense where he can fight with the CB at speed.. City basically never do this, since it's a fifty fifty ball, they rather play it to the wings securely.

I agree he's not playing well, I even think Firmino should play ahead of him in the NT. I'm just putting things into perspective.

Until Firmino start playing better for the NT, I still wouldn’t start him. I said this before but Jesus game have changed since he converted to CF full time. He was a wide player in the Neymar mold starting out. Had he flair and tricks in his belt but now he hardly dribbles like he used too.

Maybe because his dribbling never was that good to begin with.

When he's in the box these tricks etc do come out but in general play he shows feck all. He is too lightweight in terms of presence and he's like an Inzaghi in that it's like playing with 10 men.

In a side like City which despite the hype it isn't really a top top class team, I don't think they can get away with such a passenger at the very highest level. Compare Firminho presence to Jesus and it was on another level in terms of hold up play. I think Pep needs to rethink the CF issue.

Aguero is obviously not the same player he was but still better than Jesus. That said they need a CF in his prime who can run at players, hold it up and participate in the build up.

You must have not known Pep so well.

He has been trying to be clever with his CF ulitization. I meant Pep ain't just interested in a traditional forward. He tries to creates a false 9 (ghosting, no presence) in regular fluid play. Only requires there is someone to,get on the end of the chance, which Gabriel Jesus does. Basically Pep is trying to create Messi. It's not the first time Pep dropped Aguero (even when Aguero was on scoring streak), nor the first time he has problem with no 9.

I think Gabriel Jesus is changing his game for good or for bad under Pep from the player he used,to be not long ago.

I know but at the moment the balance of ghosting v presence is not right. Messi would from time to time get on ball and wreak havoc .. Jesus is way more easier to stop.

He needs to rethink the situation as it doesn't work for me. Big clubs will not fear Jesus.

We need to start calling this dude Gabriel.

I know what you're getting at, but I doubt Pep would change or he would have gone with Aguero in certain games. Technically he had Dzeko in his book but decided to let him go. Then you have Jovetic, Bony, Kelechi which Pep also didn't bother and rather playing with false no 9 system like using Gundogan and Bernardo Silva against us at the weekend. Pep has his own philosophy so no logic would cut, especially here at City where he has free reign.

He is average. Didn't do much in the two games. Might improve but he isn't on Aguero's level. Its not even close right now.

I can't help but to think this City side will perform much better with Aguero leading the line just like how I thought his Barca would have performed much better with Ibrahimovic leading the line (if only Pep gave him a chance to stay). But then again it's Pep, sometimes He tries to be clever a bit too much.

Nah Zlatan was a flop. Too immobile.

Needs a mobile 9 in that system of play. Romario style striker would be perfect fit. Jesus is too poacher and Zlatan too target man. Need someone inbetween.

Sanchez in peak form would have been a decent fit but basically a really talented fast moving 9 who can ghost pass but also go it alone and turn possession into danger at any given moment.

That's exactly what Aguero is all about or is He too old to dribble now?

Suarez at his peak would have been brilliant for them. Luckily it never happened.

Honestly don't know why he is preferred to Aguero. He is not even contributing that much in the build up play. Like someone said he is a tap in merchant.

City could do with a different type of option to mix it up. Over those 2 legs against Liverpool they chucked in a lot of nothing crosses for their team of diminutive forwards to attack against VVD and co.

Don't see Pep ever going full target man but someone with a touch of physical presence to allow some variation would help out their creative players.

Dzeko would be the player City needed for variety sake and aerial threat

Don't think Dzeko would settle for back up role. He played that role and wanted out as he wanted first team football.

He was annoyingly good as a sub too for City.
